@@arnavagarwal7871 robin rashid, the executive producer, said that she always envisioned the show to have five seasons. they cancelled it but they gave them one last season so that they could wrap everything up. :)
@@paxtonhemingway7544 ohhh makes sense. Either way they wrapped it up pretty neatly. I'm actually glad they didn't make a 5th season showing sams experience in antartica. There would've been a lot of disjoint between the scenes of all the characters cause they're all scattered now. The show would've centered around only Sam which would impair the essence of the family vibes the show gives.

no one wants to talk how paige and sam were great together and how he was genuinely sad when he had to leave her even though he seemed emotionless he was actually found his soulmate and i just hate they didn’t get a happy ending netflix you made me cry so hard
imo it was still a happy ending but i had to cry too :'((
I’m glad they at least had a mutual break up and no hard feelings.
i thought it was happy in a realistic way. they both had dreams they wanted to pursue and knew it was time to go on their own journeys. still made me emotional, but it was a healthy, mutual separation
I didn't saw it as a sad ending, they took a time to do what they needed to do with their lifes, doesn't mean they can't be together in the future if their love is really strong
He even cried.. you could see the tears forming in his reddish eyes

oh my gosh i did not realize that sams first lines were about wanting to go to antarctica! that makes his season 4 arc so much more meaningful

I was really hoping to find out who Sam was talking to (in S2-S4) whenever facing the camera. Like, did he finally find a new therapist that he was able to connect with.
i always wondered the same thing. i just pretend it’s like his headspace or something and it was how he dealt with everything going on without a therapist.
since in season 1 it was his therapist, i assume when he searched for therapists and failed he realized he didn’t need one, and used his head
WORD I thought the show would reveal it the way they did in S4E8
I honestly thought it would be revealed to be Julia at the end (even though logically from previous seasons that wouldn’t make sense)
I thought it was him talking into Julia’s voicemail (cause I thought there was a moment in which she was listening to all her voicemails and every day Sam had left one or something like that)
As a person on the spectrum, this show spoke to me so much. I relate to Sam a lot. I really wish it didn’t have to end.

It’s a joke we won’t get a season 5. Personally I felt like S4 was rushed
it was :( i thought it was originally planned for 5 seasons so that would make sense why these storylines felt rushed. if it was spread over two seasons, we would get more time with each storyline & be able to explore it a bit more. still really liked the ending with sam getting to go to antartica, it was sooo sweet. but i would love for some others things to be wrapped up a bit mre neatly. oh well :(
Yep they could have fleashed out the season 4 storylines and done new ones. With Casey and Izzie going to UCLA. Sam and Doug going to Antarctica. Paige at her new job. And maybe Zahid with Honey. Those are 4 storyline right there.

@@emy7345 he was using the r slur to harass people on Twitter along with calling certain people "special needs" as an insult. executives probably figured that wasn't a good look for someone portraying the dad of an autistic teenager.
Didn't get cancelled. It was written out and planned for 4 seasons. Showrunner Robia Rashid confirmed it. Also, Netflix typically doesn't like going past 3 seasons due to storylines drooping and audience interest slipping.
Abby is my fave one close after Casey; but this whole show is amazing from the very first second to the last one. I am gonna miss it and watch it again every once in a while. ❤️

Zahid is just a legend in this show
he never fails to make me laugh
The way he played Sam in season 1, with the deeper voice and such is almost like he's masking, but it's probably more likely that he upped the stereotypical voice

Exactly! She cheated but at least she always wanted to be there for her children. And compared to Doug, she was amazing. Maybe not an amazing wife, but at least she tried to make up for her mistakes. And she was living life with no excitement, I’m not trying to stick up for her, but though she had her issues, (like everyone else) she was great.
I cannot believe it is over 😢 💔, we will always stream and remember it. The character development is just immaculate. LOVE YOU ATYPICAL ❤❤❤

The last scene made me cry
I miss them all so much :’( also it’s crazy how deep and like mellow Sam’s voice is in the first couple episodes of the first season comparative to his voice in the later seasons. That usually happens with actors and finding their groove in a character but still! Anyone else catch that?
I think that part of it was also Sam growing as a character, how he became far more social, which would naturally grow his rep of expression and emotional output. It’s tiny details like that that make me love shows like these

I miss it so much can't believe is the last one😔. can't believe we ain't gonna see Sam trip and struggles in Antarctica and same with ucla and the girls. Also with paige and Elsa and zahid. I'll miss them but always gonna remember all the good moments an lessons from each of them 🤍
I'm sad the show is over, but happy that I was able to experience it. Sam and Paige were an adorable couple, and their last conversation in Olive Garden made me cry.
I'm so delighted Sam was able to fulfill his dream and everyone else got pleasant endings.
I love how the relationship of Paige and Sam throughout the whole series is stronger than the series itself 😭

Best character is the Sidney, the business girl with glasses in Sam's autism group. She's the fiercest capitalist kid I've ever seen. All the scenes with her are hilarious and never disappoint.

Watched this show with my mom after we both got off work, we cried multiple times. Awesome experience
Sam and paige relationship was extremely rocky, and i LOVE how they both developed and got to know each other better along the way, sam looks like he doesn't pay attention but he extremely aware after a while, he notice paige effort and paige's notices sams efforts IN his OWN way and along the lines they suddenly dance along to the same song together. ( yknow get along have understand have patience and lots of communication.) ❤ and this show it shows other people they shouldn't not date someone cause they THINK differently. ( that going for austisic people who doesnt have autism aswell)
I relate to Sam a lot
Sam not only are we both on the spectrum but also we have similar struggles in life. I literally cried throughout his moments of struggle and achievements. His character development has been the most inspiring to both people on the spectrum and others. Im not sure whether im alone in this but i felt i saw myself in Sam. This character has been such a eye opener to me. I understand that this was a TV show meant for entertainment but I hope people see this as more than just that. I hope i find more shows like this, was such an experience. 🤩
