Dude I did the math and I saw them live *twenty* years ago. First pair of awesome irl boobs I ever saw was at that show. Ryan Dunn appeared and jumped off of the speaker stack. My friend turned to me while pointing up at him, and I was pointing back like “yeah, but he’s about to jump”. Random Hero flew right into my friend’s back. I kept my friend from falling and the crowd bounced Dunn like a beach ball. I would never want to relive it, but I like the pick-me-up from knowing I had badass teenage years.
Wish i was older in this time. I was but a wee shitkicker. I was born in 99 but i can agree my age group sucks peen. Times have changed and not for the better in most aspects.
This is more than a band!! this music, these guys, the skiing, and the cky videos defined my childhood. the music represents an entire chapter of my life. and I will listen to cky forever!!!
This song reminds me of everybody I lost, sometimes even myself. Once again, it proves, Infiltrate, destroy, rebuild is a perfect album. You'll mosh and cry
I re-discovered CKY earlier this year , and oh my god im so happy that i did! I used to love them when i was about 6, and now i've somehow started listening to them again 7 years later! This song is probably my favourite, i love it so much!!
I started listening to CKY when I was 11 years old while surfing the waves of Kazaa downloading rock music. I gotta say, Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild shaped me into the adult that I am now, because it just completely fueled my love for rock. Those days of being a 6th grade misfit kid listening to this album on repeat are etched into my memory forever. I'd hide out in my room burning incense, laying on my bed just getting lost in the lyrics and riffs. Writing in my diary about things I wanted to do with my life and about things I really didn't understand about myself yet. I didn't realize I truly had no real worries at that time, but being hormonal and 11 and branded a loser back then meant my life was over, of course. I was a tomboy with short hair and wearing band tees and baggy jeans. Walls lined with handmade posters. Obsessed with the world of skating, rock and roll, and the jackass crew. I wanted to find my place in the world so badly. I had big dreams for just being a young kid and no way to reach them yet. I wish I could go back in time to that sad lonely girl and tell her she was just too cool for kids her age to really relate to. But since I can't, I'll just say my thankyous to Deron, Chad, Jess, and Vern. They made me feel not so alone. 🤘
Saw them in London in 2003. V similar to the gig in this vid. This song came on and me and my partner were like, 'it's our song!' And stood in the crowd, me in his arms. Turns out 'close yet far' isn't a good boast for a relationship lol. But our son I was pregnany with at the time grew up to be a huge CKY fan, so winner winner...
Siting in a class room it’s currently 5:58 and about to graduate in a hour and life has bin rough but it’s open my eyes a lot and I wanna just say me and my fellow peers are close yet far and while I’m sitting in this class room I am blasting this as loud as I can thank you so much your truly from BOMBCAT Arlo Watt
I remember listening to infiltrate destroy and rebuild over and over again in 2005 when I was in junior high. Reminds me of the smell of the liquor bottle of my friend’s dad that we filled back up with water after drinking it, after school before airsoft gun battles on the trampoline.
Man call it lame, sad, whatever lol but cky means a lot to so many people my age! It's such a nostalgia slap for so many of us. I wish I took more advantage of those times, I took the bam route too unfortunately. Peeked early had a ton of friends and was living a crazy rockstar life in my teens and early 20s running around the east coast with older people but partied too hard too long and ended up with an opiate addiction really young and then proceeded to absolutely wreck my life the next 10 or so years😅😢 currently sober 3 years trying to get somewhat of a life back and yea just coming and listening to cky from time to time overloads me emotions and memories from my life. Life is interesting lol it's good though :) theres always hope for everyone
Remember listening to this after I got home from overseas in 07. Drove around with a buddy talking about friends we missed. Lots of good times associated with this song. When I read some of the comments, I think what some mean, or how I interpret them is that this was a time when you told stories, and people listened, not recorded them and everyone stared at a screen in silence.
I don't usually listen to this sound but there's something unique about CKY. Playing the THPS games obviously helps but i also love all the tracks that aren't on the games. CKY albums are my go-to for flights. Love from London, England.
This was me and my best friends favorite song. I just found out she shot herself on Tuesday and my heart is broken. Gabrielle I love you. I miss you and this song will definitely mean the most to me💔
I'm sitting here realizing why I me and my friends loved this whole cky, bam, jackass sk8er era so much. It's because we were essentially watching ourselves do awesome shit on TV. It felt like hey man there's a whole bunch of us out there!
Fuck man I literally just listened to this song and cried again! Ryan Dunn........ Thankyou so much for everything hero. I truly hope you are up there smiling down upon the Jackass crew. All us fans, we will miss you forever.
Yeah man I’m 31 and was super young when I started skateboarding. The CKY videos with Bam brought me. I miss the old days but also am hopeful for the future becuase like the title says “Close Yet Far” and I’ve enjoyed the journey. Hope you’ve reached your goals or are on the way. Much love
Beautiful song with a lot of memories attached. Great ambience for a summer evening. This song also makes a good lullaby to sing to chickens. I just tried it so I know. (Listened this on headphones and sang along; to the chickens it'd have sounded accapella.) I love my chickens; I took them under my wing.
I had tickets to see CKY in San Luis Obispo. I went with my friend and a female friend of his girlfriend that I liked. We were in line to get into the stadium and a cop single this girl out for some reason. They said they weren’t going to let her in. She ran off crying and I chased after her. She nearly ran in front of a city bus and I had to grab her and pull her out of the way. I decided to give up on getting into the concert and I spent the night hanging out with other local friends in downtown SLO. The friend I drove with got into the stadium and had a great time. Given my subsequent interactions with that female (who I came to learn was a virulent racist) I regret missing out on the show. (I don’t regret saving her life just out of human decency)
Unfortunately, I can relate. So thank you for scoring some on the fortunate side, we all go through shite times. The music will always be close rather than far.
Brings me way tf back! My friend and I would just ride around for hours listening to this song on repeat. My brother bought me the video album and I fell hopelessly in love with Chad I. Ginsberg. Ahh, to be 16 again lmao. This album still manages to hit just as hard 2 decades later.
All my friends are dead. Various ways. Overdoses, car wrecks, etc... This song some how makes me feel like they're right here with me.... I'm so tired of feeling so alone and feeling nothing but pain inside
CKY is always nostalgic for me. Brings me right back to high school.
Wish we could go back.
@@chopsuey69 if only we could go back i seriously just miss the old life.. being young theres like nothing here for me nowadays
Great band in a great era.

Starting off 2025 with good music!! 🎵
My ex and I bonded over this song back in 2006, and here I am wishing she’d call me one day.
This song hits hard now that I'm an adult.
so many I want to drop me a line. I think they don't know how much they meant to me.
Not one vape or smartphone in sight, just people living in the moment. This video makes me miss the 2000's.
I don’t see how someone’s preferred method for getting nicotine affects you at all but ok cool opinion
@@xIAMAHEATHEN Not even the fucking point but ok cool opinion
Beautiful

For those that are still with us, I'm so proud of you.
When the song is so relevant, it's like a gut punch.
I’ve watched this video hundreds of times over the years but only JUST realized it was shot at The Rave in Milwaukee, WI.
Awesome!!
This song walked with my sadness as a youth and now at 40 it brings me happiness. Wild ride
You just summed up everything I just felt when this randomly came on
Never liked this song as a kid . 27 now trying to get my shit together this song hits different. Wild is ride is true … trying to enjoy every chapter
One of the most underrated songs ive ever heard.
This is more than a band!! this music, these guys, the skiing, and the cky videos defined my childhood. the music represents an entire chapter of my life. and I will listen to cky forever!!!
Man the obsession I had with cky in middle and high school. Watching the DVDs and wishing so bad I could attend the shows man I miss those days
Absolutely 💯 love cky ! I was obsessed with them when I was younger
My childhood as well, this band and everyone I grew up with listened to this band!
CKY will never die!
Long live CKY!
I found CKY early 2023 and i gotta say they are now one of my favourite bands, such a nostalgic and unique sound.

I can’t describe the feeling this song gives me
She moved to Texas. She was my first love. I always thought she would come back. This was our song. She died shortly after. It kills me to this day.

“I've lived for years without a life”
Wets my eyes every time

Truly the good old days.
Saw these guys touring in 2006 with Avenged Sevenfold. This sure does bring back the memories.
Avenged Sevenfold, damn just hearing that name brings me back. How was the show?
Should have millions of views.
