I wish all commentary on Europe's economic prospects could be done by Emil. His soothing voice makes everything sound more survivable. Well 50% of private swedish real estate is debt free and around 20% has a debt of 1 million kr (90 000 dollars) or more. We can afford higher interest rates the bigger issue is with the combination of insane Energy prices in europe.
This Premier event is a MONTH old! Why is this useful for current market conditions? The pipeline has blown up since this was recorded. Interesting look back, but not helpful for where we are TODAY.

If the EU would just roll back regulations they could unleash so much growth without needing to adjust bank rates or tax rates. Moreover, it would strengthen and unify the EU.

If you made loan guarantees a permanent institution, I can almost guarantee that you would get overly risky lending to under qualified borrowers for dubious investments or other expenditures. Protecting either borrowers or lenders from the consequences of bad or simply risky decisions is never a wise long term policy. Furthermore, the problem of excessive debt burdens cannot be ameliorated by making it even easier to go ever deeper into debt.
Isn't inflation not great if you are in debt. I have absolutely no debt at all, not 1 penny, but I'm kinda feeling pissed that my savings etc are losing money hand over fist to inflation.

Yes, Dutch housing prices are refusing to budge, still too expensive, unsure why it is taking much longer than other countries.
