OMG, what a truly sad sad day for ToyLex owners, a $40 part failed after 24 years and needed 20 mins work to replace, the horror!!! After that, I think I'll need to sell my pristine 107k km/66k miles 2012 Lexus IS 350.
@@thomastevelde8547 it’s such a beautiful car it’s that metallic red with ivory interior, top of the range, o could never part with it…although if the right IS F came along!😁
Scumbag car flippers will have one guy loosen the gas cap while the other guy distracts the seller. Check engine light comes on during the test drive!!
It's a common problem in the 2014-2017 vw golfs. You will get a check engine light and replacing that small evap purge fixes it. Also new gas cap as well.
Glad I purchased a new 2nd generation 2021 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro employing that bulletproof naturally aspirated 3UR-FE 5.7 liter V-8 engine and reliable 6 speed Aisan transmission
"Hard to get out ... Hard to get in ... nyuck nyuck nyuck!" You crack me up Scotty. Good EGR lesson. I have an old RAV4 I parked with that code. Hope that's all it is. No beauty skirt on the late 90's Toyota engines.
I love it when he works on that car, because it's so close to my 2000 Toyota Avalon that has a just slightly older version of the same V6 engine, and really everything else, and just recently the fuel pump went out or something closely related, which I haven't found the time yet to investigate further and how to replace it, but have an old van I can drive until I do. Scotty knows we dont need the new junk automobiles that are being made today.😅. I prefer my 2002 Escalade over my 2021 Rav4😅. Comfort over fuel mileage😮😅😅. I remember back in 1988 when they came out with the BEAUTY COVER, take it off and MADUSA turned many mechanics to STONE😂😂.
Pretty uncommon these days, but if someone asks me for a battery boost to get their car started, I WILL NOT be using my car to boost them with. Way too risky in damaging or blowing up the computer system on new cars these days. I'll use my jump pack to help them get going again.
I understand you are super frugal Scotty, but seriously with the amount of money you are making why must your wife suffer along with you? She deserves a nice new vehicle every several years or so.
Scotty , how about a video on the expensive key fobs on Toyotas . My 2016 Rav 4 needed a replacement one . $500 ! Any cheaper solution ? Shame on Toyota for this rip off .
Aftermarket key fobs are dirt cheap in comparison and you can find a third party locksmith to program them. For $500 you can buy your own scan tool with key programming capabilities and do it yourself.
I am looking for a newer car for my Mom. In her mid-80's, not confident driver and seeks a small SUV (for ease of entry into car and visibility). She needs all the warning and safety features. She can afford almost anything but I prefer sensible spending. What are your recommendations? or stay away vehickles?
I'm still hoping we get this 2024 election tossed on 14th Amendment Article 3 rules and get Scotty on the Special Election ballots. I'm halfway not joking.
Can you recommend a decent scan tool with manual for non-mechanic like myself, to keep a 2011 Honda Accord SE with only 18k miles maintained and running properly. It's past warranties, with only 18k,.. bought it from an elderly lady that didn't drive much.
They reduce engine noise. His wife would throttle Scotty. Pun intended. In cold climates the engine cover helps moderate fuel and air temperature. It's not necessary in warm climate. But the wife might get upset being able to hear the engine!

The rumor says that Stellantis want's Renault cars in the future... So Stellantis is getting all the worst car brands but they still miss VW, Mercedes and Jaguar
After 270k miles, i have replaced the purge valve in my 96 ranger 3 times. It's the only code it has logged. Part is cheap, i don't bother with testing it.
I had the 446 on my 2003 Corolla and I had two other codes related to that venting system.. they said it Best I could figure out it was the VSV switch but apparently it's like almost above the gas tank so it runs fine., it does take longer to start but now I figured if you turn on the ignition let the pump prime up pressure and then it fires right up so something must be letting the gas go back to the tank it's worse when it sets for a couple days I don't drive it much I ride my motorcycle more but come wintertime I guess I got to get back in the old can
I plan on eventually buying a brand new ES 350 since no more V6 in the Camry. Hopefully they'll still make the V6 at least a few more years until maybe 2027?
You must be a Comedian. Do you know how many Kia Engines have blown up in Kia's and Hyundai's and the mountains of recalls on them. The resale value of a Kia or Hyundai drops like a rock after 2 or 3 yrs Toyota is one of the few that at least hold value for the first 5 yrs of ownership.
@@nobsatthistime Blows my mind how many people don't know about the Theta II engine lawsuits and all the news stories of Kia's catching on fire happening for the last decade.
I'm definitely subscribed, and love all your informative videos!!! One thing I've noticed on this video is that you never mentioned where to buy the brain power!!!!😊😊😊 On a serious note, I wish that you were closer to me, cause I do have a geo prizm Lsi sedan with the 1.8L engine it's the same as a Toyota Corolla, but sometimes I be having a hard time finding parts! Right now I need the passenger side fender and door!!!! I did ordered my water pump and timing belt, which will be here tomorrow! But I'm no expert and I don't have tools!!!! I need a good mechanic like you! If possible please Gmail me info on where I can get my right parts please! Thank you!

I had the 446 on my 2003 Corolla and I had two other codes related to that venting system.. they said it Best I could figure out it was the VSV switch but apparently it's like almost above the gas tank so it runs fine., it does take longer to start but now I figured if you turn on the ignition let the pump prime up pressure and then it fires right up so something must be letting the gas go back to the tank it's worse when it sets for a couple days I don't drive it much I ride my motorcycle more but come wintertime I guess I got to get back in the old can
That Lexus will be still running after Scotty is gone 😎
Hey Scotty! First, your son, now your wife is not worthy of the "Fancy Scan Tool"? 😂😂😂
Please don't
take down Your ild Videos
Scotty is great I love his videos
I'm surprised Scotty hasn't gotten rid of that "stupid" beauty cover permanently.
Shop charge..... $400.00
You can also do a test with a good scanner
I plan on eventually buying a brand new ES 350 since no more V6 in the Camry. Hopefully they'll still make the V6 at least a few more years until maybe 2027?
Yeah!!! Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Suzuki (long gone!), all slacking off! MEANWHILE...KIA AND HYUNDAI KEEP GETTING BETTER AND BETTER!!!!!!!!!!
Even his wife lexus has stupid cover on it 😂.
Thank you Scotty ! I’ve never owned a Toyota and all I know is you have to give a wide berth to Camry drivers ….. danger , danger 😊
I'm definitely subscribed, and love all your informative videos!!! One thing I've noticed on this video is that you never mentioned where to buy the brain power!!!!😊😊😊
On a serious note, I wish that you were closer to me, cause I do have a geo prizm Lsi sedan with the 1.8L engine it's the same as a Toyota Corolla, but sometimes I be having a hard time finding parts! Right now I need the passenger side fender and door!!!! I did ordered my water pump and timing belt, which will be here tomorrow! But I'm no expert and I don't have tools!!!! I need a good mechanic like you! If possible please Gmail me info on where I can get my right parts please! Thank you!
