YIKES!! AN APB ANNOUNCEMENT! For some reason, I said "Walk This Way" rather than "Walk On By" when I was talking about The Stranglers' "Rarities" album. MY BAD!!!!
Now, I get to thank YOU for taking me out to see some great record stores! Great storytelling, editing and camerawork. Loved all the varied locations and the added plus of food. Excellent!
Lovely tour of Berlin 😊 I was in the tv tower just before they closed it to remove all the DDR estetics. You are a travel savant! Oooh, Crowded House vinyl! I never find any at humane prices 😢 Awesome movie posters! Thank you for showing us your Berlin sojourn! Cheers from Morten 😊
When I saw the Crowded House lps, I actually thought of you Morten! haha. There are just so many albums I'd like to pick up but it would have been impossible. Memphis Slim, Iron and Wine, Psychedelic Furs, Style Council, Crowded House and so many other albums. Thanks so much for stopping by to watch.
@@retromusings I fiiinally got the last Style Council I was missing! My discogs order had been delivered to someone renting my place and rested against a door and stood there in Denmark for 3 months before my friends borowing my house spotted it! I, and most Danes, not fans of Post Nord (You are not supposed to deliver stuff to people who can’t identify themselves as the receiver, but what the hey…). Norwegian prog heading to a small town on… Hudson Bay! Hope it gets there ok 😊
Haha. Yes. Hallelujah for that step stool! Pleased you enjoyed the vid and you will absolutely love Berlin's record shops. Hope you get there sooner rather than later. Apparently there are so many amazing record shops in the Kreuzberg district too. Thanks for watching.
Yes. They really do. Everywhere you go you see record shops, bookshops selling records, cafe's and restaurants also selling records and places using them as decor too. There are posters everywhere of DJs and the clubbing scene is crazy. Such a vibrant city! Thanks for watching.
Cool Hendrix and De La Soul albums. Interesting Amiga Records segment. Vinyl a go go looks cool. I love that Van album! I’m enjoying the vid! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥
That Van album is just awesome. I've been listening to the cd to death so it's nice to have the record and picking it up in Berlin is the cherry on the cake! Many thanks for stopping by and watching.
What a great glimpse of those record shops and markets in Berlin. You really have captured the spirit of these shops and the record stalls at the markets and the Berlin Bear so brilliantly. The Stranglers' "Walk on By " is just such an awesome cover of the Bacharach song and that "Rarities" album looks really good too. I really enjoyed all the flipping through of the records and spotted so many I'd like to have. Thanks for sharing this latest video about Berlin. Your channel is truly one of the best in the VC community. Love your eclectic taste in music.
You're very kind. Pleased you like all the flipping through of the records. It's overwhelming to see so may wonderful albums. I wanted them all! Thanks for your support and stopping by to watch.

Berlin is indeed amazing. It's overwhelming with the amount of great records at very reasonable prices. And there's so much of it in Berlin. Hope you enjoy watching the video. Thanks for stopping by.
Berlin is a fabulous city. Thanks so much for stopping by and watching. P.S. Thank you for letting me know the Christmas card arrived in good order at the right address! Happy Autumn!
Glad you enjoyed the video. And yes, I meant to say "Walk on By"! Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't even catch it. I never tire watching the video on TH-cam of The Stranglers with Hugh singing it on TOTP back in 1982. Thanks for stopping by and watching.
So pleased you enjoyed it. Berlin is such an awesome city and truly a record haven for record collectors. So many record shops and so little time! Many thanks for stopping by and watching.
Glad you enjoyed it. And yes, especially the Galactic Supermarket. It really is something. It reminded me of Tower Records back in the day. The selection is just awesome. Thanks for watching.
Love The Stranglers cover of Walk On By which was a free 7" in American issues of Black & White when it was first released in the states. Sounds like The Doors 🚪! Happy Autumn 🍁 🍂 😊
I never get tired of watching the videos on TH-cam of Baz singing "Walk On By" . I wish there was a video though of Hugh singing it too when the Black and White album came out. Many thanks for stopping by and watching. Happy autumn to you too.
Such a fantastic and exciting video about Berlin's record scene. That Stranglers' version of "Walk on By" is just off the charts. Classic punk! This is such a great travel video too. Bravo.
What a fine day that you had ! That Stranglers' Album looks really interesting . I also have a craving for one of those pretzels and beers ! Thank you for sharing your wonderful tour of some of Berlin's record shops . I visited Berlin in the summer of 1988 , while the wall was still in existence . We crossed over from West to East Berlin and went up the radio tower as well . I thoroughly enjoyed my time there , although East Berlin wasn't as vibrant then as it looks now . Thanks for the tour !
Very nice to see you pick up The Cure, The Stranglers and The Church! Those Ramsey Lewis albums look pretty cool too. This is a great music, travel and food video of Berlin. Thanks for sharing your adventure with the VC.
Hey. Thanks so much. It was fun filming but you really do have to be mindful about being discreet in Germany. I was told people get really angry if you don't ask if it's ok to film something. @@retromusings Just came back from Germany myself, but I didn't have the opportunity to check out any record stores. It's definitely a good idea to ask people if it's okay to film :)

I wonder if the employee of the record store actually knew the Grateful Dead's music, or did he just own the t-shirt. I ask because I've always been curious if Europeans appreciate the long-format "jam" band style music. For some reason jam bands haven't caught on outside the US.
Did you grab those new wave records from The Housemartins, China Crisis, The Mission, Modern English, Crowded House, Art of Noise, Ultravox, and The Psy Furs?
