GORILLA BABY 'V' AT 5 DAYS OLD

- It amazes me how they grow and develop. Some may say they don't see a difference. But if I look at how alert this baby is now after 5 days, I think it's a big difference with when it was one day old. Beautiful to follow another baby gorilla in it's development and seeing it grow. Daddy Matadi stays close, it's wonderful to see. Thandie is still very curious as a (half) sister she likes to come close. But Mambele won't let her get to close.
Important! You might have seen Mambele her under lip hangs down sometimes. It's how I love to see her. It shows she's relaxed. When her lower lip is up, she is more tense. So This is normal for Mambele ;).

My heart is simply melting, & I have a huge lump at the back of my throat...Baby 'V' has such a sweet, vulnerable & innocent looking little face...As the sleepy yawns began I started getting teary eyed from the joy around another little, healthy, baby gorilla being born into the world & will live a life free from the danger of humans...I can't help but wonder if baby Thandie has even recognized there's a new little baby (& staying permanently.. in her loving family...HaHa...How we'll enjoy watching them grow & learning about their unique little personalities... *: )*

I love discovering these older videos! Mama’s face is so unique! At first her eyes intimidated me but now I find them so beautiful! I have been having a problem sleeping and this music helps me also!

They are so close to us, (97% the same DNA... ) and thank you to avoid the visitors’ usual nuisance with their loud and useless laughs and remarks, that are so disturbing for these quite animals. Baby’s eyes are still fragile, the day light is hard for them.

I think out of all the primates gorillas are the most loving parents. Father gorillas play with their babies, and mother's are always there for there babies. Their the best.

@@lisakn27 @KaceyIlliot1669 nope I understood. It's a nice and kind comment. But I saw he has a monkey as a pet on his channel. Those monkeys normally live in groups and are no pets. I educate her in the Netherlands why it is bad to keep exotic animals as pets. Now his monkey is cute and young but in a few years when it's a puber, he'll probably can't handle him anymore, and what happens to it then?

I've seen a few videos where older gorilla ladies let their lower lip hang like that so it's good to know it's a relaxing thing.

I think they'll make it official on Monday when the zoo will go live on their FB page. I think it's a girl based on some photo's I've seen. And I also hope it because of the breeding program, she can stay in a family group what I think would be nice. But however a boy or a girl we already love it so much!
Mambele is a bit younger. She is 21 ;). Born 21 February 1999.
