I've just been listening to this as background noise for immersion and every time I tune back in and actually pay attention to what they're saying it's absolutely hilarious! I love it XD
I just discovered your channel and I can already tell that it is very helpful! This video certainly was. My Japanese progress has stalled for years now. I have done vocab off and on, but my understanding of full sentences is still very poor. I’ve been finally trying to consistently study grammar recently, but I can’t stay motivated as grinding workbooks for hours every day does not work for me. That is why I have never kept up with it. I finally realized that I need to start doing things more similarly to how I learned English as a child: tons of immersion mixed with grammar lessons. But the immersion needs to be at least somewhat comprehensible and entertaining.
I use Wanikani to study kanji and vocab, as well as a deck I discovered via Refold. I have been doing Bunpro and reading some of its linked grammar articles, and now I needed an immersion source. This channel is a great place to start! I need something slow paced, with repetition and imagery. It is almost like I am getting a tutoring lesson, aside from me not doing any input. Nevertheless, it is great for listening practice. I’m going to keep watching your videos, hopefully every day. I only understand maybe 10% of the dialogue, but I am able to roughly follow along and will surely understand more over time. You are an excellent teacher!
I can relate. These videos are very helpful. They are slow paced and although im struggling with this one, I can understnad some of it. Japanese is a hard language to learn. Like you i dont enjoy studying grammer. So im using these videos and watching simple anime like Shirokuma Cafe, im also wathcing Terrace House
Thank you for all of these videos. I recall watching some of them a year ago and back then I had trouble keeping up. Now going back and watching some of these I find myself being able to understand it far easier.
I’m not quite this “advanced” yet, is knowing core 1000 vocabulary enough to understand? I currently know around 200 words of it and am well acquainted with grammar and N5 kanji
Why what how when how he speaks that well.. i can't even understand what's going on here.. gosh.. Hey I got something in my mind.. How about the things that people in real life often said like.. ..Kedo.., ..Nanka.., ..Jibun.., ..Kara.., ..Dakara.., ..Toka.., ..Yappa.., ..Yappari.., ..Zenzen.., ..Donna.. etc Why you guys never mention something like that? What are they and how to use them in Japanese phrases? Thanks.
Believe it or not, Hyougensan didn't make a big jump in fluency recently. He's been slowly building up to what you see in this video. Have you started with our easiest stories? Our videos are in a sequence, so you need to start at the right point to understand what's going on. Most of the words in your list have been introduced slowly over the course of the Niwachan videos, The Bus, The Power of Tears, etc.
In these videos Asami is creating an immersion opportunity for you and me (Hyogen). Of course my pronunciation is not perfect. I'm a student, like you.
@@japaneseimmersionwithasami4249 that's my point, it hurts immersion learning to hear the pronunciation from other learners. People should pretty much only hear native speech. Check out Matt vs Japan's site refold.la for detailed info on their immersion learning method, and it's free. According to their method, you're not even supposed to be speaking (outputting) until you have a high comprehension of the language (which will probably take a couple years of listening to it). This is because before that, if you try to speak, you are basically just translating in your head, which is not natural for any conversation. I apologize if I came across negatively, just trying to point out it's not good to hear learner's pronunciation
I love how she actually repeats new vocabulary or words that he / we don’t seem to know. It feels like I’m naturally acquiring them

It is called "西町交番の良さん「にわにわに?」". Not sure what exactly it translates to.

記念日(きねんび) - holiday or anniversay
「記念日」は"anniversary"です。でも、悲しいことは「記念日」とは言いません。日本語の「記念日」は"commemoration"の意味に近いです。それから、holidayの「記念日」もありますが、ぜんぶの記念日が"holiday"ではありません。ですから、holidayは「祝日(しゅくじつ)」や「休みの日」「休日」ということばのほうがいいと思います。

I don't think it's good for immersion learning to have somebody frequently pronouncing the language in a strongly non-native way
I think pronunciation will become natural after a while. That’s what happened to me with immersion

This would be even cooler if the guy didn’t keep cutting in and ruining the immersion.
