  • Hey besties! HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am so ecstatic to see what this year has in store for you and I. I am completely sold out once again + WE made it well past 100 subscribers now, wow. THANK YOU!!
    In this video I give you a glimpse of what a production day look likes for me. It's a very repetitive process that I still find so rewarding. Candle making is just so therapeutic for me. Even on the days where I feel overwhelmed I take time to step back to remember why I started this journey.
    **Be sure to always check your flashpoints on your FO when adding in fragrance at higher temps**
    Later in the week I will be posting how I make my labels, give me other candle ideas you'll like to see in the comment section!

      I use SOOO many different vendors for fragrance oil! Candle Science is a great place to start. They have great concentrated scents. Along with, Nature's Garden, Midwest Fragrance, Lone Star and so many others. You have to start off by getting their tester sizes usually 1 to 2oz to sniff test. This was the only way I determined my FO.

    I am using virgin coco soy -- 9.5 oz vessel --- looking for a wick that burns the edge/ strong heat throw. I have use the Jastore 12.5 oz. Libbey Candle Container & tried the CD/CDN wicks 6,8,10,12 --- Do you have recommendations?

    • @viewsofayona
      @viewsofayona  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are so many factors that go into play. What FO percentage load are using and what is the exact diameter of your jar? Are you allowing the candle to burn to the edges on the very first burn? Off experience it sounds like you should try double wicking if the jar is more than 3.5 in and if not wick up. I use CDN 12" and 14" for my 10oz jar, depending on the FO. NOTE: If your candle can burn for 4+ hours and fmp remains between 1/4" - 1/2" then you have found your wick.

    • @viewsofayona

      I buy multiple wooden spoons to have for each fragrance. But I also wash them after each use, some of the scents linger and some go away after a good soak. I also use metal spoons or whatever is in reach lol.

    Can you pour your fragrance oil with Coconut Apricot Creme wax at that same temperature as well? Because I'm having problems with my scent throw and its soooo frustrating that I can't get a strong hot throw.

    • @viewsofayona
      @viewsofayona  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      What kind of wicks are you using and what is your percentage fragrance load? Although I do not sell that wax I have played around with it and noticed coconut waxes perform better when heated to higher temps - 200 works for me but some say 210-225° is best. Use a presto pot if you can because with a double boiler, you'll never get the wax hot enough. Once you reach your desired temp of 210-225°, add your scent, stir about 1-2 minutes then pour.

    • @jimmyboney7173
      @jimmyboney7173 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@viewsofayona I use a 0.2 wooden wick from Wooden Wick Company. And my fragrance load is a 12% fragrance load with a 12 oz vessel. And ok, I will try heating my wax to those temps that you stated and will mix for 1-2 minutes and pour right after. I was thinking maybe I need to lower my fragrance load to about 8? Because even when I did a 10% fragrance load, the hot throw was still weak. Thank you for your help!

    • @viewsofayona
      @viewsofayona  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@jimmyboney7173 Ok awesome so I assume you are using the 12 oz aura vessels. I would try a 5 day and a 2 week cure with 8 and 9% FO & a .02 crackling booster wick .75 - Remember the longer you cure the better the HT. Less is more with FO + 12% FO could have been an overload and clogging the wick.

    • @jimmyboney7173
      @jimmyboney7173 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1
