Guys, when you add your footage, don't forget to turn off the Fractal Noise effects on the footage layer. Thanks to the people who pointed this out to me on instagram. Have fun!
yo just to fanboy a bit more, i've redone this now and started playing with it, changing ranges, using diff precomps for diff color areas etc and just wanna say this is the most impressive AE tut i've ever come across. really there is so much awesome mechanics going on here, and has taught me a lot about the inner workings. how you figured this out absolutely stuns me, really like what the actual f dude. thanks to your magical brain for figuring out, and for the rest of ya for sharing it. keep well friend
@@synthymental awesome amigo, i would love to see more. there are so many "5 best effects for X" type of videos, which are fine they have their place, but so nice to see a more technical deep dive, as well as the fact that you present in the end how to adapt this for almost anything. have a great wkend, keep well.
Exactly what I was looking for. Actually even more, insane amount of new insights just by watching this video. That's how I know when I'm subscribing a channel. Thanks a LOT.
Just a tip - I got stuck at around 3:26 as you said to duplicate the two layers which made a difference with the masking and really confused me as I didn't know what I was doing wrong! Turns out I just had to copy and paste and it worked then. Just to be careful about what commands to use and be more specific! Great vid otherwise, love this technique
This is so cool, love this content. I would like it even more if you explain the process bit more. Like for example, you described your action step by step but you didn't explain why you took that step or what is the effect of that specific action. I think that will help people to learn the skill faster and even beginner level AE users can keep up with your content. Regardless, I'm subscribing.
I love this video, thank you! I have a question: How can I make the tile size smaller? I tried adjusting the square size of the shape layer, but the mosaic didn't fit properly within the square size.
To change the grid size, change the values in the Mosaic effect Horizontal value = composition width / shape composition width Vertical value = composition height / shape composition height For example 1000px/20px = 50 this is amount of tiles in width (and do the same for height) Also don't forget to adjust your CC Repetile values for the new composition size. it’s a bit difficult to explain in text, let me know if you still need help
video content is good. best improvement is to clean up voice audio: remove mouth pops, "ums", etc. Clean voice will make the tutorial quality 10x better..

If you want to make a loop with Fractal Noise, you need to animate the loop in the Evolution value and turn on "Cycle evolution" in the Evolution option
Question, my little shapes are feathering together/blending when played instead of respecting each other's space. How can I stop this? Increase contrast somehow? Thanks!
You may need to increase the resolution, for example try multiplying each parameter by 2 (but this will take up more computer resources). Or try using the "Quality and Sampling" button on the Timeline (it looks like a line, next to the FX button) to reduce the anti-aliasing - the edges will be sharper.
For some reason when I upload an animation, in the footage layer, it doesnt change the main composition. why could that be? ( talking bout the template thing)

Thanks, now I'm trying to find the golden mean between short video and informative. I hope it will be better in future videos.
godlike
can we use any composition size ??
Cool
Went through all the steps but when I try to put my own footage in it doesn't change anything..
damn, this is what I've been looking for recently! thank you!
I was glad to help!

Oof bro that's sickk
How do you move and set the center target to the corner? 2:14
Press Y button, to select Ancor point tool, and hold cntrl or cmd(on mac) to snap it
Thanks G✔

thanks for the feedback, i'm working on it
alta geil, texturelabs?
sorry i don't understand, ask in english
something went wrong with me, the effect is still in the background, please help :/
Could you explain in more detail? perhaps you need just turn off fractal noise effect
With me I get 1/3rd extra of the "footage" compositions, any idea how to resolve this?

hi bro where'd you find images such as the skull? With all pngs of the full rotation
Usually I'm looking at free 3D models and then rendering them in Blender with rotation or some sort of
@@synthymental Oh okay, thanks man! Is there a way how to make this animation be a seamless loop? Not the 3D image.
If you want to make a loop with Fractal Noise, you need to animate the loop in the Evolution value and turn on "Cycle evolution" in the Evolution option
@@synthymental Okay gotcha, thanks a lot!
How'd you get the 3D skull? Is it just a layered PNG export?
it's from free 3D stocks

Hmm, have you tried clearing the cache?(Edit/Purge/All Memory & Disk Cache)
This didn't fix it for me.. any other ideas?@@synthymental
where did you get minesweeper icons?
it's a screenshot from google, you can just cut it out
Ahuy, годно
how do i save it as a preset
just save the project, and change footage to the one you want
