The law can a tough concept when the constitution is the supreme law of the country and our leaders ignore it. Focusing on loving others as yourself is hard when people are focused only on self. Thank God for the word and gift of the Holy Spirit to guide us. Thanks for sharing this message.

I always wondered about the teaching to obey the authorities, with respect to governments which are tyrannical. My understanding is that we are to obey the authorities provided that our obedience to them does not contravene God’s instruction for our lives.
Addictions - That ugly word.... whom i have known very well. Drugs, alcohol, ciggerettes & self gratification. Through Christ, they are all gone. How you ask? well of course the spirit helps with cravings, the pain you were covering, the sin because of it, the rebuilding of relationships etc but... the kicker - Choice. You must choose today whom you will serve, & then do so diligently. Leaving those things in yesterday & live today in & for Christ alone. Ps....it gets easier, it all gets easier, be ready to cry as you need to. God loves us all & that includes YOU.
I’m all for being obedient to the laws, but the minute it bumps up against Gods word and is opposite of what God says that’s a hard no for me. 2023 right now and there are so many ungodly things that are being pushed and demanded on us Christian’s, I take God’s side and say No thank you to the “rule makers” right now. I choose God’s side.
I am researching Romans 13:1-5 now, and the KJV looks like it's not talking bout the government. So what does it really say? Higher powers, but is it really the government that it's talking about? We need to be careful with the translations, it makes a lot of difference. God bless
this world is not our home. therefore we are to live here as diplomats and foreigners live in a country that is not theirs...as guests in the embassy building or a hotel. a hotel can never be home no matter how much we decorate our room...its not ours and we must be ready to leave it when Jesus comes for us. Follow the “law” and submit to “government” u til it contradicts Scripture. If it doesn’t align with the Bible I am not going to submit or follow. Example when our government legalized queers getting married and things of that nature. My ultimate authority is Scripture.
Jesus can make you free from being a slave to anything. I am example of that. I told God because of my free will I understand if He can do nothing for me. Hahaha, I was immediately set free from being a slave from a certain thing that's not from God.
Watching and studying in 2023 and oh my goodness nothing more has to come to pass for Jesus to return 🙌🙏🙌

2024-- things have changed. Laws and edicts against God's law are coming down.
I'm concerned that the government i should be subject and obedient to is evil.
