Check out about truing the tyres... have the cars spin the back tyres on some ultra fine sand paper held to the track, especially on older cars! The difference this can make is insane!!!
@@ShadowFoam Smoke coming from the motors is usually a good sign you've done it for too long in 1 go. It's best to hold the car with the magnet away from the rails. A good way to test the tyres is to put your hand in front of the car, if the wheels spin freely, the tyres are bad. Once you've done it, the grip and magnet downforce will actually stop the motor. They'll be super tacky now so any dust is picker straight up... easy to have the tyres blast this off holding the car on the track.
Cool work , but it might be worth remind people that Scalextric track doesn’t break when it gets taken apart connections become loose(Not all the time) and just need the owners to be aware of this and maintenance is required to keep it in top condition just like any equipment we own in life
Can't improve the great job you've done, but can I suggest you try some design software? Ultimate Racer (no affiliation btw) works quite well. It's not free and is a bit quirky, but you can try different designs easily.
I understand how you cut the foam concerning the OUTLINE of the track, but how did you cut an even depth out of it, in order to sink the track into the foam?
I want a Barbie board to mount a barbie house with swimming pool filled with water, and drive in remote control barbie car with driveway and lighting and model picket fence, and epoxy fibreglass a beach and waterproof swimming area for the dolls.. That's what I need now for my niece ASAP can you help me? I have the cash here..

Thanks for the tip Trevor, much appreciated!

I peeled an even level out of the foam by using the levels as a marker - GREAT QUESTION!
Thanks a bunch, I understand now. This foam looks like a terrific product.@@ShadowFoam
I want a piece of green so it looks like grass to cover 10ft x 4ft one piece, thinnest you can do, can it be done? Top job on the video mate..
