    My first experience with Lexus was a very short ride in a buddy's 2015 GS350. I was blown away by how incredibly quiet and smooth it was. I personally drive a 2002 GMC Yukon XL, which in all fairness, there are many vehicles that'd be smoother and quieter than that. The driver aids were a bit annoying, but those can be turned off. I had my bag in the backseat and the car was dinging because the seatbelt wasn't buckled where my bag was. Weight sensitive. The GS350 was even the sport sedan. If the sporty car rides that well, I can't even imagine how well the ES rides. The ES350 Ultra Luxury will absolutely be my daily in the near future.

    Well done, you pick up a sub, you captured my enthusiasm with my new purchase. I picked up a 19 UL low miles in July. This car blows me away, you can't hear most semi's when they are right next to you on the highway. So comfy, good power, the Levinson sound system is excellent. Owned a 13 ES350 and this is so beyond that. Stupid reliability and low cost of ownership. Nice review, honest.

    You didn't even touch on how ridiculously good the Mark Levinson surround system is, it completely changes the game. I have the 2023 of this model and they further improved it by removing the touch pad and made the screen entirely touch. I will say the 8 speed auto does suffer a bit from hunting for the right gear in slow speeds but any other drivetrain would be too weak to move this boat. The cherry on the top is the fact it takes regular gas too.

      Kiss your affordability goodbye. And, remember a larger tank has its own compromises to both roominess and gas mileage/performance because of the extra weight and space. With the new model's pretty good gas mileage (even with V6), I personally haven't found the smaller tank to be any kind of practical inconvenience.

    • @TheCarReviewGuys
      @TheCarReviewGuys  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      ES350 has better ride quality. Arteon feels sportier. ES350 has nicer materials, like soft leather. Arteon has hard plastics in many places but the tech in the Arteon is updated more then ES350. So all depends what you're looking for

    I sat in the right seat(behind the driver) a few months ago. It was a 2021 ES350. Going down the freeway, it felt really harsh to me and I felt every bump. Strangely, on the way back, my friend sat in the rear and I sat in the front passenger seat... and it was buttery smooth like in this video. Does anybody know why? Was it the rear seat cushion or perhaps the rear suspension? Thanks!

    • @TheCarReviewGuys
      @TheCarReviewGuys  ปีที่แล้ว

      That does seem odd for Lexus. Honestly I can ride in the rear on press cars as I'm the only authorized driver. So I can't really speak on the ride in the rear. However the people riding with me did not complain so I'm not sure of the differences. Appreciate ya watching

    It does not 'Float' over bumps as well as it use to but still pretty good. It still does 0-60mph in 6 seconds though. LOL

      I'll help: I own a 2022. It's the same as 2019-20-21, except it added desperately needed touch capability to the screen. In 2023 Lexus completely changed over to the new system used in the current RX and NX, complete with new faster software and completely different menus. Both touchscreen systems are reasonably intuitive to use. The biggest difference is that the new system supports wireless CarPlay.

      @@tonysterbenc yes I think that is a big drawback on the 19-21. Sounds like the 22 is a big improvement.

    • @tonysterbenc

      The Lexus GS had it, but nobody was willing to pay for the extra sophistication. At the end, the FWD ES was outselling it 20 to 1. Do avoid the current AWD ES, which has a low-rent Camry four-banger engine. The '25 ES will offer AWD with more power, but the tradeoff will be the loss of the current smooth and ultra-durable V6.

      May be an overreaction. I have one of the Kentucky-built Lexuses. They're built on a separate assembly line and paint shop by a separate workforce Japanese-trained in Lexus methods. Compared to the Toyotas, the standards are higher and the tolerances are tighter. Mine has small panel gaps, proper fit and finish alignments, and lustrous well-applied paint.

    • @tonysterbenc
      @tonysterbenc ปีที่แล้ว

      Lights: LEDs standard, superb triple-beam LEDs as a $1,500 option. Sunroof: Regular sunroof standard, pano roof optional on non-hybrids. Rear seats don't fold down, just as they haven't on any ES for 30 years, because Lexus puts a brace behing the seatback for structural rigidity that only leaves room for a ski pass-through.

      Hasn't been my experience. Body is tight, panels align precisely, paint is well applied. You may be interested to know that Lexus hand-picks the workers on the Lexus US assembly line, a separate line from the one that builds Camrys, and trains them using Japanese methods.They also import a lot of the car's components from Japan.

      @@mikexcanxjerk I think you could reasonably expect the G90 to have a softer ride. It's bigger, heavier, has costlier suspension components, and costs an extra $30,000. A fairer comparison is the G80, which is about $10,000 pricier than the ES when comparably equipped. Its non-sport versions have a very comfortable ride as well.

    • @tonysterbenc

      Then try to get your hands on $10,000, because that's how much more the Genesis costs when comparably equipped with leather and a V6.
