    Yes, another problem is that they don't have online chat anymore. You have to send email or submit a ticket to them, which means your problem could not be resolved immediately!! Previously it was good, but totally sucks nowadays!

    Hello, I just have a clarifying question.
    If I am using the NameCheap BasicDNS, I do not need to worry about the cPanel step, correct?
    I know I am not using the NameCheap WebHosting DNS, so once I add the CNAME file into the Advanced DNS settings, am I finished?

    • @namecheap
      @namecheap ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Greetings!
      Thank you for your question.
      Yes, it is correct. Using BasicDNS, the CNAME record should be created in "Advanced DNS" tab and cPanel step is not required.
      After creating a CNAME record in "Advanced DNS", it is necessary to wait a few minutes so it to become accessible. Then the certificate is automatically issued and its files will be sent to you for further installation.
      If there are any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.
      Best regards,
      Namecheap Team

    For me, the Zone Editor in cPanel does not show the CNAME option. It only shows MX Record Option. Stuck here! No idea what to do next, no response from the chat team and I've been waiting or the past 30+ mins. Please help ASAP!

    Hello, I followed the instructions and tried the "Save Changes/Retry Alt DCV" option" after successfully adding the CNAME Record. In the popup window when attempting to Save Changes/Retry Alt DCV, it says "unhandled exception" with no further information. I did every step correctly up to that point.
    Edit: I contacted the support and they fixed my problem.

    In the advanced DNS, there is an existing cname record (by default), do I leave it there as I create another cname record?

    • @namecheap
      @namecheap ปีที่แล้ว

      Greetings,
      The DCV records do not affect the existing DNS records for your domain.
      Thus, please feel free to leave the existing records and add the new one required for the domain validation process for the certificate issuance.
      Please keep in mind, that the validation record can be removed once the certificate is validated and issued, as it's only required for the verification purpose.
      Should you have any other question please let us know.
      Kind regards,

    How is this done if we are using Custom DNS? I don't see that covered in the video or the written guide.

    • @namecheap
      @namecheap หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello,
      Thank you for your question.
      Custom DNS allows to specify the personal DNS servers or third-party hosting nameservers. Thus, steps for creating a CNAME record could differ depending on where or with what DNS provider nameservers are placed. Unfortunately, there is no possibility to show in one video guide instructions for all possible DNS providers, so here are presented nameservers owned by Namecheap.
      In case Custom DNS is used, please contact your DNS provider to get their assistance with CNAME record creation. Our support team would be also glad to assist via the Live chat (www.namecheap.com/help-center/live-chat ) or email (www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/227/5/how-can-i-request-support-via-email/ )
      If there are further questions, please let us know.

      Hello Lea,
      You can check it in your Domain List - "Manage" button next to your domain. On the page that will appear, find the Nameservers section, where you can see the nameservers your domain is pointed to.
      Alternatively, you can use this third-party checker: toolbox.googleapps.com/apps/dig/#NS/

      If there were issues with getting the CNAME values, clearing the browser cache could help as well.

      @@dcyung685 Hello,
      The SSL installation process may depend on the exact SSL, domain, and hosting services that you have with us and which ones you use with the third-party providers if any.
      If all the services are with us, feel free to submit an SSL installation request to our support via ticket or start a live chat for online guidance.
      In general, in order to enable connection for the domain it is required to:
      1) purchase the domain;
      2) point it to the web-hosting server;
      3) purchase and activate an SSL for that domain;
      4) complete the verification steps for the SSL and receive the issued SSL files;
      5) install the SSL files on the web-hosting server.

      If it works, the email with certificate files will be sent to the administrative contact email for the order. Also, you'll see the SSL status change to "Active" and the "Download" option (to download the certificate files) will become available in your account.
      If it's been done and the certificate stays "Pending", please contact our SSL Support Team via chat or ticket for the case investigation and further assistance.

      Hi! Once the DCV is completed it is up to you whether remove it or not. When the SSL certificate is issued, the CNAME record used for validation will not be needed, so you can surely remove it.
