With the Royal Lao Army & the CIA During the Vietnam War

Khao Insixiengmay was a colonel with the Royal Lao Army during the Vietnam War. His father fought the Japanese in WWII and his brother fought alongside the French at Dien Bien Phu (1954). Colonel Khao served with the Special Guerilla Unit and was commander of Group Mobile 33. He led 3,000 Lao soldiers and worked with the CIA against the North Vietnamese. In one battle, he helped destroy two North Vietnamese regiments. He was wounded twice in combat and was imprisoned by the North Vietnamese. After the war, he was imprisoned for twelve years by the Lao government. Colonel Khao is calling for the service of the Royal Lao Army veterans who served with US forces to be recognized by the U.S. government.
