The EDS stands for easy drive system it has sensors that read the contours of the ground every 30 seconds automatically repositioning the flail head reducing the amount of driver input, watch a TH-cam of it in action on TH-cam, But yes that’s a great looking machine just hop in it and go. The best way to learn👍👍 keep up the great work, 👍👍

Thanks for that, I’ll check that out when I get a chance. I’ve just finished the first day on the hedge cutter, quite enjoying the job.👍

I 'd say you are doing OK, we all had to start somewhere and we all have our own ways of doing hedge trimming. First of all I like to set the hedge trimmer like you have done and steer the tractor in to the hedge or away to get an even cut where as my son drives the tractor straight and moves the cutting head in or out up and down. I do the both sides first then top, it may not be right but my finished hedge looks good and that's what matters to me. Over time you will find your own preferred way of doing it. Watch out for wire thought it will pull it in as quick as you can blink.

Thanks for the advice. I really enjoy the job, picked up some wire on the last pass tonight in the dark so I decided to call it a night and have a go tomorrow again.👍

Looks a good trimmer and good job so far as for cutting I start with side's then top and finish with the floor to cut up any bit which have fallen down
Other than that watch out for wire and bits hitting glass in future try to get a guard 👌
    Have a good weekend cheers 👍 🐜

Ye that’s the way I went about it, sides first then top and finished with the bottom? Also picked up a few bits of wire, yes your right we need to look for a shield for the window for next season.👍

Good video Rhydian, I know very little about hedge cutting as this season is the first time we have had our own cutter. 👍

Calving is going good, 63% of the herd calved in a month. 👍

Start with the sides ,I prefer from the top of the side and work down ,then do the top of the hedge last ,but it’s all down to preference, hedge cutting takes a lot off time and practice to get right ,tbh I’ve seen guys doing hedge cutting for years and still make a mess of it , my advice is just go slow take your time and enjoy , 🚜

You got that all wrong, the first thing a hedge cutter operator needs to learn before even turning the PTO on, is how to swear at, and if argued with knock out, whatever arsxxxle left that chunk of wire/stone/bicycle/ car tyre/ fucking swinging gate that won't stay out of the way/ bt phone cable that wraps nicely round the rotor/basically anything that isn't a hedge... In the way. Always carry an axe shaft and look like you're gonna use it, these people need to learn 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for the comment. It’s a second year ley and it’s looking alright. Looks like it could be early silage if the weather keeps up.
