My general rule of thumb is this: If this is NOT your local park (i.e., you're traveling more than 3 hours/150 miles away), you're going on a weekend/holiday, AND you only have a single day to spend at the park, Flash Pass/Fast Pass/Fast Lane is 10000% worth it. I've been to dozens of different parks over the country for years and when this criteria fits your situation, you'll absolutely get your money's worth--and especially when you buy in advance or very early in the day.
Definitely...DEFINITELY!...get a Flash Pass if you go to 6 Flags Magic Mountain, or any of the major amusement parks, DisneyWorld included. Will it cost more money?...Of course, but it will be so worth it. You will spend big bucks to go to these parks, especially if you're coming (flying!) from out of state, so spend some more to ensure that you have a great time. I learned my lesson...waiting an 1-1/2 hours to get on Peter Pan ride at Magic Kingdom DisneyWorld in Orlando was ridiculous...never again. You generally don't go to these parks every year, so when you do go, make sure that you have a great time, and not one of regret. Been there, done that.
Thank you so much for this review. Others Creators don't seem to grasp the concept of a proper review, which much include comparisons for time. I'll take 15 min vs 100 any day of the week. Gonna need to pick up a little OT to afford it but it's beyond worth it. Some simple perspective math for my fellow YTers: 100 min = 1hr 40 min.; that's almost 20% of a 10 hour day for ONE ride or half a day for 3 rides. That's not a lot of fun.
The season flash pass is very worth it right now since it is so crowded/ understaffed. It seems that way too many people have the flash pass. I bought the flash pass after my first visit after the reopening in April where I waited 6 hours to only ride Tatsu and X2. I bought the gold season flash pass for $200 during its sale and it has done me wonders. I can chill in the shade, reserve a my next ride while I am on a ride, or eat while I wait for my turn. If you don't have a flash pass you are waiting in line for hours on end while people walk past you that do have one. It is essential to have one right now. The gold flash pass gives the best value for the money since I could just ride superman early in the day while there is no one in line.
If there is only one entrance for flash pass how do you advance ahead of others if they have bronze and you have gold? Is there additional lines when you get to the end to ride that say bronze, gold, etc?
Once you enter the Flash Pass line for a ride, it doesn’t matter what level of FP you have - it becomes a traditional line, just for FP people only. The different tiers of FP and their time reductions are based on the stand-by line wait time and aren’t prioritized over each other within the FP queue. This is balanced out by the FP queue receiving higher priority over stand-by for boarding, so the FP line shouldn’t usually be more than 5-8 minutes. As an example, if you have Gold FP and a ride has a 60 minute stand-by time, you wait 30 minutes for your FP code then enter the FP line and maybe stand around a few minutes more to ride and that’s it. Hope this helps.
I got the bronze flash pass on the Thursday before 4th of July, I got on 13 COASTERS, THATS SO GOOD FOR HOW CROWDED IT WAS. I mean I did got on 4 without the flash pass (speedy, roadrunner, ninja, gold rusher) but I got on 9 major coasters with over 2 hour waits…with the bronze. So yes worth it….even the bronze is worth it.
I went back in the day when the flash pass was just coming out it wasn’t like 2010 I turn 26 I went on like 30 rides. It was such a blast they had these giant things your test your belt loop on your pants so I’ll let you know when your ride was ready I paid $150 for me and my girlfriend to get the platinum pass. We got to go on twice and skip 90% of the line was so cool that’s birthday ever
We got Gold yesterday at Six Flags Great America and I think it was totally worth it. Goliath was 60min wait pretty much all day and we waited no more than 10min both times we rode it. It was a Monday so the park wasn't super crowded but there were still fairly long lines at all the big rides and it was nice to be able bypass them. I'd certainly get it again. I wouldn't do Platinum though. If you just book your next ride while you're in line you won't even need to wait - and then it's just like Platinum.
I was the manager for Flash Pass At Six Flags Over Texas. Personally it's expensive, yes, but the regular pass isn't worth it. U just don't wait in line. Other than that, great company (Accesso) and great culture to work at. Great pay
In suprisied the lines where this long I went in July 2nd a Friday and it was Fourth of July fest and the only long line was west coast racers unless you count the kiddie coasters I got in everything
We went on that July 2nd as well. That was a crazy slow day compared to any of the other days we've been the past two months. You picked an amazing day the park was empty that day. Most days its packed
Fast forward a few years... Everyone will want to skip the lines... So everyone has a pass... Now, everyone with a pass will be waiting in line with many others who also have the pass...
Flash Passes at all tiers are sold in limited quantities, and they aren't always available..if you're going on a particularly busy day, reserving your pass ahead of time is strongly suggested. If you try buying same day, they might be sold out. It's happened a few times. So no, not everyone can get one, even if they want one. A) not everyone can afford them, and the price is for the convenience, b) it would defeat the entire purpose of their existence, and c) limited quantities are available.
We'll be visiting in October-- will the crowds be fewer then? Never been before. Do you think we can get by with just a bronze, or.... no fast pass perhaps?
During the down season everything is generally walk on. But October is during the Halloween season so it would probably be worth it to get at LEAST Gold. If you were going during say the end of August or beginning of September, then usually everything is walk on anyway except for like 2 rides so it's prob only worth it to maybe do Bronze on a day like that. During Summer when everyone is out of school or flying in from out of town, I'd say get the Gold or Platinum to minimize the wait as much as possible. Bronze doesn't sound worth it since the wait time is still the same.
I’ve heard Diamond elite members get a free upgrade on flash pass from bronze to gold. Do you happen to know if the free upgrade applies to one pass for a group of 5
hello thanks for the video!! i wanted to know if you guys got the regular, the gold or the platinum one! thank you very much. i am going on mid july (on a friday) so i wanted to know if with the regular one id be okay.
Yeah seriously… Same thing I was wondering the entire video. I don’t like this video very much just based on that. Whoopty do you got on a bunch of rides yeah using which flash pass? Very key information left completely out of the video.
The regular flash pass lets you a reserve a ride and it reduces the wait by 25%, so if the line for it is an hour you only have to wait 45 min. But it’s still good because you’re not actually waiting in line and you can do other stuff. The gold reduces the wait by 60%, so if the line is an hour you’re only waiting about 25 min. Finally the platinum reduces the wait by 90% so if the line is an hour you’re only waiting about 5 min
With Gold it makes you wait a certain amount of time, say 10 minutes, before they will allow you on the ride. It has to expire before the QR code appears for the attendant to scan. With Platinum there's no timer.
March 26th 2022 spring break MY flash pass experience,,the truth about flash passes at magic mountain,,,, GET PLATINUM,,, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO RIDE EVERY flash pass ride otherwise. ,,,
I'm guessing you had the platinum flash pass. Theres 3 types. Regular, gold, and Platinum. The regular is equal to the non flash pass wait time, gold is half the wait time, and platinum is 90% of the wait time.
@Let's Park It Since you regularly go to Magic Mountain have you experienced X2 with the audio effects on since they have reopened? I have went 10+ times in the past 3 months and I only experienced the fire effects once, but the audio has never been working. I really miss that experience :(
Yes. They need to fix that. Apparently the audio isn’t priority for Six Flags. It might as well be just the original X if they’re not going to fix the audio.
I have a question, Im going to magic mountain soon and ive been many times but never with a flash pass, i was justr wondering if anyone knows how many times you can use it in a day or if there is some sort of limit ( I want to go with it this next time I go)
If you care about what everybody thinks you’ll never live your life for you once you do that you’ll be free try doing things to liberate yourself otherwise always be trapped be controlled by what other people think and what you think other people think it’s a very vicious cycle I need a break and do whatever you can. She can really be free in like your life without the controller, thoughts and feelings of other people, including yourself.
You can use it as many times as you wish on all rides, EXCEPT for the rides that are "single reservation only". West Coast Racers is usually Single Reservation Only and I believe X². So you have to choose wisely with those.. I'd say if you've already ridden them in day time, then it could be smart to use the single reservation for a night ride instead. And vice versa. And if you are unsure which rides are by single reservation only, you can always check on the website or check with someone at the Flash Pass center and they'll also let you know. For example, I'm sure that when Wonder Woman finally opens, it will be single reservation only, simply because of how crazy the wait for that will be. West Coast Racers is the latest ride there currently so the line is always very long. It'll probably be unlimited soon since it will no longer be the latest ride when Wonder Woman opens up. Anyway, said all that to say, outside of X² and WCR, you can ride any other ride as much as you want and skip as much as you want as long as you have the Flash Pass. As far as which Flash Pass is most worth it, I'd say at LEAST the Gold level or higher. I don't think the Bronze seems worth it since the wait time is still the same but you are essentially just placed in a virtual queue. Basically what that means is, if a ride's wait time is 70min, you'd still have to wait the 70 minutes but just not physically. You could go do other things until the flash pass alerts you. But I'd rather get a Pass where I see my money actually working for me. Gold cuts your wait time by at 50% or more, and Platinum cuts it by around 90% or more. So at the Gold and Platinum levels I think you see your money working for you at that point. I wouldn't buy a pass where I'm still waiting the same amount of time to ride anyway, as such with the bronze or basic level pass..
@@neferazure so the flash pass for x2 and wcr can only be used once each visit or literally only once???? @@mrstanleycup384 it's good that you're going early because you'll get to ride some rides at the start and theeeeen it gets very busy very quickly. and the weather is best at 5-6 pm. I hope I helped 👍🏼
one more thing. Some rides get very busy and don't stop being busy. Colossus was a 2 hour wait starting from 6 to closing hours. Some rides are a 70 minute wait at 3-4 pm and then theyre maybe 30-40 minutes shorter
but flash pass bronze let's you reserve a space on line while in the meantime you can do other things such as eating or riding other rides. but one con is that you can't reserve more than 1 ride but it does make some sense
Firstly you don’t say which type of flash pass you have as there are three tiers. Also not all rides are on the fast pass. I’m assuming you got the top level one as you did full throttle which isn’t on the lower pass types
You're speaking of the Bronze level Flash Pass. With the Bronze level pass, the wait time is still the same but you are placed in a virtual queue. With Gold and Platinum level, you go into the actual Flash Pass lane and you only wait between 50-90% less of the actual listed wait time.
just once at a time, but when i went what we’d do is right after they scanned our flash pass, while we were waiting to board the trains we’d reserve another ride and go to that ride as soon as we got off. worked like a dream
LoL you ALWAYS have to get off the train of any coaster. Idk any park that allows you to just stay on the ride. It's not a big deal since you don't have to wait anyway. You just go back through the entrance and skip the line again. Not a big deal.
Longest reserve time was about 35 mins at peak times. Gold flash pass is definitely worth it. As soon as you get you pass scanned reserve your next ride right away
@@kaiguz26 alright thank u sm also so basically u just scan ur pass than wait the time then get on the ride when u come back right away? and in that time u can make another reservation time?
Nope. Ours was worthless. They didn’t honor the time windows and made flash pass wait. It did jump a lot if the line but not like they claimed. Instead if 90 minutes we were waiting 20
I think it’s just one at a time. So as soon as the park employee scans it book yo ur next one while you’re waiting for the ride to get the most out of it.
I hate the flash pass, I've been to six flags so many times and one time we had the flash pass and we had the more expensive one where you get to ride twice if you want to and the way six flags does it is super awkward, they don't do anything to explain to the next people in line that you are going to be riding twice so when the train gets back to the station, you have to awkwardly explain the the next people in line that you have the flash pass and get to ride again. One time, these ghetto people were freaking out cussing and yelling at us to get out and I already had my restraint bar thing pulled down and I got scared because I couldn't move or get out even if I wanted to and this giant ghetto person was like freaking out yelling GET OUT!!!!!!! And I couldn't do anything, it made me feel unsafe. Also when you go threw the flash pass line, sometimes they don't stop the normal line to let the flash pass people through, the flash pass employee is sometimes just standing at the entrance of the ride and just lets you go threw and then the flash pass line just merges with the regular line so you just have to awkwardly cut in front of someone else in line, it's the same problem as the other problem I explained. This entire problem aside, also some rides have the flash pass line merge with the regular line so far back that you still have to wait a long time. My six flags park is Great America and there is this ride called the Dark Knight and you have to wait soooo long even if you have the flash pass. It's almost like six flags didn't want to spend money to make make a new queue that goes up to the station so they just built it really far back at wherever was easiest. Also I think that paying to cut the line is dumb and they just shouldn't have the flash pass, some people might disagree with me on this but just because you have more money doesn't mean you should be able to cut everyone else
Platinum is beneficial for the park he didn’t show. The part you virtually wait in the line via the flash pass. With platinum your waits are only 5-10 minutes to be able to enter the flash pass queue, and as you saw from his video your next one will be ready because it takes 5-10 minutes to get on the ride after they scan it anyways.
What's your favorite ride at six flags?

I have one question… did you wear your glasses the whole time?? I wear glasses and don’t wanna take them off :(
I bought the bronze and want to upgrade it to gold. Do they accept transferring and worth to upgrade?
what day? month did you visit?
Which flash pass did you have, regular, gold or platinum? The video didn’t say it
Which flash pass did you use??
was it gold or platinum flash pass you was using ?
gold he commented
which flash pass did u use?
wait so which flash pass do i need to get? im not tryna spend $125 for the platinum one if i dont have to...
because i thought u had to reserve the ride on the flash pass. im going on a busy day from 1030-430
honestly I don't think gold or platinum are worth that much money. go for bronze. its very convenient I used it and it helped a lot
How much is it?
What day did you go ? :)
Went on a Wednesday. It's busy every day of the week now.
@@LetsParkIt What day do you usually go? Or does it vary
It all depends. Normally during the weekdays
Firstly you don’t say which type of flash pass you have as there are three tiers. Also not all rides are on the fast pass. I’m assuming you got the top level one as you did full throttle which isn’t on the lower pass types
wait i thought flash pass just virtually puts your place in line, there's a fast pass lane?
You're speaking of the Bronze level Flash Pass. With the Bronze level pass, the wait time is still the same but you are placed in a virtual queue. With Gold and Platinum level, you go into the actual Flash Pass lane and you only wait between 50-90% less of the actual listed wait time.
@@neferazure oh wow thats amazing thanks
When you have flash pass can you reserve spots for the different rides at the same time?
No just one at a time
just once at a time, but when i went what we’d do is right after they scanned our flash pass, while we were waiting to board the trains we’d reserve another ride and go to that ride as soon as we got off. worked like a dream
@@andressalazar5765 Exactly.
which flash pass did you buy?
Is worth it just depends if it’s a busy day
Have you heard any info on how long tatsu is gonna be closed?
No word yet!
Transformer blew. I am hearing it will take months due to chip shortages.
Which rides have flash access, pls list them
Theyre listed on the website
does anyone know if you are able to continuously ride twisted colossus with a flash pass without getting off of the train?
You are not
LoL you ALWAYS have to get off the train of any coaster. Idk any park that allows you to just stay on the ride. It's not a big deal since you don't have to wait anyway. You just go back through the entrance and skip the line again. Not a big deal.
It what day
did he go?
How did your glasses not fall
My Prescription glasses are pretty tight on my face!
What day did you go
Anyone notice the mirror effect on the girl at 1:08? Creepy.
which flash pass did you get?
How bad are lines for Labor Day?
So you gotta purchase the admission + the flash ? 😳
What flash pass did you get? There are tiers.
I got the season gold flash pass on sale. Absolutely worth it
Yesssssss
how were the wait times with gold bc i’ve seen mixed reviews?
Longest reserve time was about 35 mins at peak times. Gold flash pass is definitely worth it. As soon as you get you pass scanned reserve your next ride right away
@@kaiguz26 alright thank u sm also so basically u just scan ur pass than wait the time then get on the ride when u come back right away? and in that time u can make another reservation time?
What flash pass did you have?
Bro, there are currently 3 types of FLASH PASSES! Which one did you buy???
Im going tomorrow!!!
Hopefully you had a good time!
question is what level of fast pass?
It would be nice if you actually answered some of these questions.....
But which Flash Pass did you purchase???
How much was the fast pass?
What the hell is that face at 1:08 OMGGG
It’s going to be my first time going to magic Mountian where on the map is the flash pass hq
Nope. Ours was worthless. They didn’t honor the time windows and made flash pass wait. It did jump a lot if the line but not like they claimed. Instead if 90 minutes we were waiting 20
The big Texas ride
Is there a limit on how many rides you can get on before using it again? Or can you use the pass whenever you want?
I think it’s just one at a time. So as soon as the park employee scans it book yo ur next one while you’re waiting for the ride to get the most out of it.
You can use it as much as you want, except on rides that are single reservation only (currently, SRO rides are West Coast Racers, and X²).
How do I get the flash pass
Did he get the bronze, gold, or platinum flash pass?
short answer: yes
Is flash pass worth it ? No i have seen the flash pass line 3 hours longer than the regular lines there.
What flash pass was it ?
It was during week? Or weekend?
This was Friday but every day is busy during the summer.
@@LetsParkIt omg ... ok thanks cutie
Fun!
Is the platinum flash pass worth it ?
Platinum is beneficial for the park he didn’t show. The part you virtually wait in the line via the flash pass. With platinum your waits are only 5-10 minutes to be able to enter the flash pass queue, and as you saw from his video your next one will be ready because it takes 5-10 minutes to get on the ride after they scan it anyways.
It’s going to be 4 of us do we each need to get a flash pass ?
you have to each pay the full amount but share one device
Yes. All need it.
which flash pass did u get bronze or gold
An important question. Are there attractions which don’t have platinum fast pass?
Have to get the flash pass. Even with it you most likely won't ride all of the rides in one day.
Jesus Christ is coming back to save us soon, if you believe in Him you receive eternal life.
Yes 🙌🏻
