He called this collection XJ1861.
According to the official bio on ZEFIRO, this fragrance is a tribute to Rome, but in my opinion it is a sacred nod to Sergio's home country of Italy.

Last night I decided to finally open my Zefiro. Truth be told I honestly did not know what to expect. Upon first spray I admit I was confused and it really does give this mystical church type vibe. As Marcel has said, Zefiro is a master piece and that goes with out a doubt. How ever this particular fragrance will take most of us a while to appreciated and get our nose around. This fragrance really puts the mind to work. I have yet to get a citrus note but the incense defiantly contours thoughts of an bustling ancient city and perhaps a time gone by.
Great to hear from you Joey and yes, Zefiro is way more complex than it's 2 brothers. The biggest challenge I believe with this fragrance is that it's first and foremost an 'incense' fragrance and if you're not a fan of incense, then this one will be tough to enjoy.

Do agree with you Zefiro is a work of art from the house. This fantastic incense blend always reminds me of visiting Kyoto temples where they burnt incense on the altar tables. So calm yet elegant. Head over heels in love with it!

100% agree with your take on this one. Zefiro is the Steve Buscemi of the 1861 line. Inmmensly capable yet criminally underrated. While Naxos & Rennaisance get all the glory and accolades, Zefiro goes on a different route. No, it does not have that mass-appealing quality of the aforementioned two, and yet, in my skin it outperforms them both in terms of durability and uniqueness. To me, it is that cinnamon accord that stands out and yet, combined with the incense and the resins, it makes it so different than anything else I own. To me, it gives off a mature vibe. Not that it smells like an old man, but a man that has seen the world change before his eyes and reflects on his past. If I was to rank them, I would put Rennaisance on top, followed by Zefiro and closing out with Naxos.

This channel is great, not only i understand the notes of these lovely fragrances, we get to understand story behind each, what each symbolize.. i didnt know anythin about xerjoff, in my last shipment i got from fragrance buy here in canada, among of my all bought middle eastern cheap clones, the seller left me a sample of naxos, oh my i actually loved it more than all perfumes i bought😂.. im big fan of azzaro wanted by night, so this was close to home for me,.its even better.. i ordered my bottle and cant wait.. excellent channel here for me a noobie into the niche fragrance.. thank you sir,😊.. love from canada❤

Zefiro is pretty amazing! It's the only Xerjoff that I have invested in a back up bottle.
Naxos is great too, but not sure if I'll ever be able to finish the bottle considering there are other gems in the collection

I have to agree- some xerjoff fragrances can be seen as works of art. I really recommend you try "fierro", i think you will love it as well! I will be checking for zefiro soon.

I am falling in love with this more and more through my sample and I'm getting more and more insane because of the fact that I don't own and can't yet afford a full bottle of it.
I just picked up a 100ml Zefiro tester from Jomashop for $128 out the door. Best deal I have seen.

zefiro is fantastic. i have it in the original rectangular shaped bottle. would you know if the spherical bottle that you have is exactly the same smell? sometimes 'juices' get reformulated on bottle change.
Awesome that you actually have the OG bottle on this amazing fragrance. It's a good question Fulaan but I personally don't know....perfect opportunity for a science experiment 🤩. You should take your bottle into a store and test the 2 side by side.
I know that there's always a lot of talk by the TH-cam community that companies 'reformulate'....I wonder if this actually happens? Or is it speculation...your thoughts/experience?

@@TheNicheFragranceCollector havent compared 'old' and 'new' zefiro but i have compared another brand, amouage dia man 'non-magnetic cap' and 'magnetic' cap and there is such a difference in quality, almost like the 'non-magnetic cap' is real and authentic and the 'magnetic cap' is a fake.

I've only just found out about Xerjoff watching your videos, i will say the way that Xerjoff looks is incredible. So far in my collection I have Sauvage Elixir, Green Irish Tweed by Creed and now Leyton by Parfums De Marly and I'm also considering the World according to arthur by Penhaligons. Is there anything you would recommend from Xerjoff that will really mix things up and that's different?

Some may say it’s just a perfume, but it’s no secret the effect scent has on folks. This is an art form just like music or theater.

I would say Zefiro for winter
And renaissance for the warmer days as simple as that

Between zefiro and renaissance. What do you prefer?
If I had to choose, I would go with Renaissance. For me this one is an all year round fragrance and an easy reach for me. I do love Zefiro, but being that it’s primarily an incense fragrance, I find that I tend to use this more during winter.

Renaissance is the best in the group. Astringent and minty and masculine gentlemanly. Naxos just reminds me of le male for some reason.
I heard renaissance got reformulated but only after I had purchased it. It smells awesome no doubt but doesn’t last that long. However it is a citrus fragrance and typically they don’t last as long as some of the other deeper darker resinous fragrances used in the colder months
@johnnygorena5318 well, my Renaissance lasts a long time. I say 6 to 7 hours definitely. Got mine in 2021 maybe same as yours.
My first time here. I like your way of evaluating perfumes. Don’t need to be so apologetic.
A painting is just paint on a canvas. A sculpture is ‘just’ a shaped rock. A perfume is just a mix of liquid chemicals and oils. None can save the world. Any can tell a story and be appreciated for its art… 👀

i have tested many samples of xerjoff and this one doesn't seem to mix well with me. i don't get incense so much as i get wet saddle leather from a sweaty horse. or maybe some tom ford leather scent. not for me.

I appreciate your knowledge, but when you give so many niche fragrances 100% it fails to help your listeners (us) really differentiate between good and great smelling colognes. Is this really a 100% to you?
I have Zephiro and am getting Renaissance, and they are tough to wear. Hoping to find Naxos on sale soon.
Great to hear from you @rduse4125 and I do understand your point. For me, if it's my collection, then I've committed to 'buying it' (and as you know these fragrance's are not cheap)
I don't blind buy anything (well I did blind buy this: th-cam.com/video/H_rczb3Xw6g/w-d-xo.html 🤦🏽♂️). So it means that I test really solidly prior to committing to buying, so if I'm talking about it in "The Collectors Collection" then yes, it means that I love it 100% (otherwise I wouldn't buy it).
But as I mentioned, I do understand your point....hence why I try to bring in what others think of the fragrance (in the rating) to bring some balance and provide direction for the viewer.

I’m in my third year of fragrances. Sometimes I’m embarrassed of my obsession (now I have almost 150 bottles)…I justify it since I don’t have any other “bad habits”. - Anyway, I’ll be starting a TH-cam channel this week to help pay for my addiction 🙂, and I really appreciate how your show is put together. - I’ve blind bought most of mine so far, but most have been designers and from discounters (I’m just getting into niche). So, most of what I have is just the most popular from different brands.
How do you get your samples, without going broke on very small quantities of product?

I always say that "I love all the House's equally. Just like my children, I don't have any favourites".........but, secretly 🤫 I am very partial to Xerjoff❤️ There's just so much to love!!
No such thing as 'just a fragrance.' Fragrances are used to save the world. (Chuckle).
I just can't wear this one. It smells like burnt rubber with flowers on top. I can smell the notes, beauty and the grandiose cathedral part. Everything in there is amazing, and i'm glad it exists. But what i smell as a whole and what others will smell on me is burned rubber and flowers. Really not for me nor those around me. Maybe if i was religious or grew up in a religious house, it would awaken some happy/nice childhood memories.
Is this one like an Amouage? I do not like amouage to much of an insence stick smell. I just can't see how people like that smell. No offense. But most of Amouage has the same smell in a way. It's like I'm holding a insence stick. It's to DARK. 😖 and Reflection man smells feminine and and old lady 😕 but It don't have that insence smell. I hade high hope's for Amouage. Creed and Xerjoff are the ones I'm into now. I can't do designer no more after smelling neich fragrances. They just smell cheap and chemicals
Hey Daniel, appreciate you sharing. I’m going to say that in time, everyone will love Amouage. It is one of those masterpiece brands that all perfume lover will eventually grow into.
Just like you now can smell the difference between a good niche fragrance v a designer perfume; you will one day fall in love with Amouage👊🏽
The brand definitely use frankincense and myrrh, which is native to Oman (which is where the House is based) and so yes, the ‘incense’ scent is definitely part of the DNA of the brand.

The incense in Zefiro is much more toned down and better blended with the other notes. I couldn't stand fragrances like Epic Man and Interlude Man too, but Zefiro is much more pleasant and elegant then most Amouage fragrances
