i feel that vincenzo has one of the better mafia kind of kdramas. First off, it supports the 'kampong spirit' of using ordinary neighbors to fight off the villains when we thought that those people were the ones who would be another entry going after the gold. There were many feel-good moments when the neighbors slowly showed their talents and their 'mafia' side to fight alongside vincenzo. Also, *spoiler alert* i feel that the unfolding of the villains and one of them changing to a new leaf makes it a more heartfelt show to watch. The ways they got back against one another (like a chess game) was very amusing too. Not forgetting, Our VinCha's love line was soooo good, very few kiss scenes but their chemistry was so strong that when you watch the BTS, you could see how well they work tgh.

Lawless lawyer is the OG “mafia lawyer” drama and could tell that Vincenzo was largely inspired by LL. Highly recommend LL if you are into this genre

IKR. HOSPITAL PLAYLIST NOT S. IT'S SSS. It's my favourite drama ever. It's one of the most realistic medical dramas, and I cry almost every episode.

I personally think that cha eunwoo is not really that bad in acting but more like because all the roles he get is the cool type of guy so it didn’t fully portray his full abilities. I hope he can get better roles in the future💕💕
Cha Eunwoo is such a good actor! His characters in his dramas like my id is gangnam beauty and true beauty were meant to be cool and serious, so you can't expect him to show much emotion while being cool and serious. Anyway, as he got closer to the female leads toward the end of the dramas, he did show more emotion and was really charming! He played his roles very well so I hope Amanda understands that characters whom are meant to be cool and serious can't exactly show much emotion.
I feel like vincenzo is just savage, unlike other kdramas, vincenzo doesnt follow the law when punishing the bad guys, its like satisfying revenge (btw, the show gets better after the 3rd episode)

vincenzo is actually good u cant literally expect 1st episode the whole plot or story comes up , u have to watch fully to understand the whole thing and is actually funny too
for vincenzo, i like how they overcome each problem. its quite surprising how they solve it! and i find it to be quite funny too

Prison Playbook is soooo underrated it's one of the top dramas for me! Kairos is also another very underrated one, and Taxi Driver deserves more love.

11:09 True beauty had a way deeper meaning that I don't think you guys understood. It's not supposed to be a spectacular show, it's a feel-good light-hearted drama. But the idea that people won't like you if you don't wear makeup was from the MAIN FEMALE LEAD'S POV because she literally got BULLIED and suffered past trauma so she felt the need to conceal herself. The entire story is about finding your inner beauty, making true friendships, finding support from a strict mom, finding love despite insecurities. There's a lot of good morals and themes in this story. Yeah, it was filled with a lot of cliches and such but I wouldn't call the entire story shallow just because of it.
Those themes and morals werent potrayed well in the show then. And such themes and morals are quite commonly known and talked about that unless they really dive deeper in those issues, it doesnt really offer much to us.
@@k-potato3593 still it wasn't as shallow as the male lead fell in love cos of plot. he did exploit her weakness and regretted it. Plus I really think it's more light hearted and more comedy than an actual romance show. the female lead and all the other side chars were hilarious.

i love how candid amanda was in this video, which makes her entertaining to watch!! and brenda is cute and funny as usual🤗🤗 wldve loved to hear cuiwen speak more! but maybe including a male/non-straight female in the cast would help provide more diverse views for the reviews in future episodes 🥶

I feel that true beauty deserves a better rating despite cha eun woo's lack of expression in his acting!! I don't really agree with the "man falls in love with ugly person and girls must wear makeup to look good". In fact its the opposite. The guy didn't really fall in love due to just the plot but her personality despite being very cliche. It's because she didnt have to put up being fake in front when her make up is off and she's more goofy in real life. All that make up only made her act classy instead. And its definitely more of a comedy show than romance. How the guy exploiting her secret, the 2nd couple with the teacher and sister, the annoying brother and the stupid antics of the 2nd male lead. All of these were so hilarious to watch and there wasn't an episode I found boring cos I kept laughing.
it's definitely more rom than com and the shows has some good meaning esp with the evil 2nd female lead character development. its definitely at least a B or an A tier for me.
Would highly highly recommend Mr sunshine ( historical drama, kind of a deep story, starting was kind of slow, but this drama was jus so well written and didn't let my expectations down, characters were so well written too~ and love the bromance HAHAH)

As someone who was brought into kpop and everything korean by Boys Over Flowers, I’m surprised it’s not here :’)))) it’ll always be my number 1 even though there are many great dramas coming out these days.

Why isnt there “She was pretty” and “Kill me heal me”? These two are my FAVSSSS and i have rewatched them so many times even tho I absolutely hate to rewatch dramas

You have to watch "My Mister" - if you like "Something in the Rain" and melodramas. Nothing comes close and I can rewatch it over and again. The OST "Grown Ups" is haunting - goes straight into your heart - even without the drama and listening for the first time. You feel alone in this crowded world.

Just curious, is Singaporean local drama very popular among Singaporeans too? Cuz I always feel most Singaporeans watch Kdrama, Japanese drama and Western dramas. Very few I've met said they support and follow local drama.

Tbh I stopped watching the rest of the ratings once I saw VINCENZO is not rated S. Its a n unexpected comeback for SJK tbh. Please, please watch it till finish. SJK is the attraction for VINCENZO, but at the end of the storyline TAECYEON is who I fell in love with. Please watch it. 🙏🏽
I dont know if u will enjoy it if ur not yet in ur 30s and have been working for at least 10yrs but HOSPITAL PLAYLIST is the best slice of life kdrama I've watched. It'sso feel good and chill. 🥰🥰

I would say that the show is trying to teach a few things :
Sometimes a quiet person doesn’t mean she/he is fine
Family support goes a long way
Trust your friends in making good judgements of your character
Friends can be a form of support as well.
And everything is not about the looks

vincenzo was my literal life for a good 2 weeks... it's damn amazing, and it was one of the rare times i watched a non-romcom kdrama (i don't watch many kdramas in general) but it's super good i'm still not over it
i honestly feel like even though uncontrollably fond had like a lot of screaming and crying and was overall very emotional given the fact that kim woo bin was gna die in the beginning itself, really ah the entire plot and storyline can make you cry sm one. it rly shows what life is abt like the ups and downs and like its very real in a sense. it was really like a vv meaningful drama for me despite the sadness & wah kim woo bin’s acting was sp good especially when he had to act sick leh omg. for me easily top 5!

Vincenzo is meant to be a dark comedy- which makes it quite a unique as far as Kdramas go!Thats why it ended up taking a more goofy/less serious tone after the first episode.
That said I think it tried to squeeze in too many plot points and elements into one show (mafia drama, family drama, romance, corruption) which made it feel a bit ridiculous /touch and go?
Female lead is quite quirky and funny and the characters are quite fun though! I think its a good one-time watch albeit not binge-worthy! :-)
Also super love the chemistry between Amanda and Brenda in this video!!! 💞
Would be great if they could do this again with another 50 Kdramas (or maybe anime or other TV shows) !!!
definitely brought up some good points! I think its alright for a drama to have multiple plot points but only if it executes them well, Vincenzo honestly handled it better than alot of dramas but theres definitely still some plot holes and questionable decisions (the villains really became kinda dumb in the later parts and they lost the uniqueness that I felt in the earlier episodes). Thats why I feel the series' best episodes were from ep 4-16 where there was just enough plot points to be thrilling but also without too many plot points that left the watcher confused :D

Idk but I think it's just me, watched over 100+ kdrama, I've never drop a kdrama halfway, its either I don't even watch it at all or commit to watching every episode. For me, the only way to judge film/drama is to watch all the way through. Like I won't drop at episode 1 and say it's a bad drama cos need give chance and time for development, eg. Vincenzo.
But can't deny sometimes a drama is a pain/chore to watch, like The World of Married or Possessed but to me, that's how you can judge whether it's totally good or totally bad right by watching it's entirety? You don't leave a 2hr movie at the first 10 mins and say its a bad movie. To each its own, just my 2 cents.

My ID is Gangnam Beauty and Uncontrollably Fond are written extremely well imo. Gangnam Beauty offers a new perspective towards plastic surgery while Uncontrollably Fond triggers a lot of "what if I were in his/her shoes" scenarios.
Uncontrollably Fond was so noisy and the chemistry between the two leads in Gangnam Beauty was abysmal 😂 - Amanda
@@TheSmartLocal noisy makes sense cos KWB was about to die and Suzy had no idea. Need to empathise a lot with the characters to enjoy it. I dropped it initially like 2 episodes in then on second attempt completed it and realized how great the acting was. Only when I put myself in the shoes of the characters did I start to understand why they did whatever they did. Gangnam Beauty's issue was CEW's stone cold face but other than that the story is good. Helped me realize that sometimes people undergo changes not because they want to but because the society tormented them enough to do so. The value of the kdrama comes in explaining torment, because what could be a 7 to you could be a 10 to another on a pain scale. I went from "eeyer plastic surgery" to straight up "well done you have the courage to confront your displeasures about yourself" because of this kdrama.

my opinion is that tbh, true beauty and MIIGB is not so bad to be in C D, maybe like mid B or sth. It just felt like Amanda has sth against Eunwoo, or his character(?) but I think that's what he was supposed to do. I do agree he needs to take up other roles to be considered as a versatile actor.
And, true beauty has a deeper meaning, like bullying, friendship betrayal, childhood trauma, family support? They are saying the drama is very shallow because it's all about makeup, and the male lead liking her bare face etc errr then I think it's shallow to think this way? Talking about character development, the female lead was self-conscious initially but in the end, didn't y'all realise she didn't use makeup except for work/events? The male lead also became happier and outspoken (And he did the "panic attack" scene pretty well).
And, if Amanda likes Eunwoo as much as she likes Lee Dongwook, maybe she will rate his drama higher. (Honestly, I think it's abit too much to rate Goblin as S tier like ??? this drama is just ??? Amanda rated it S probably because of her bias-ness towards Lee Dongwook.... and I respected her ratings until I recognised her bias-ness towards LDW I'm just like ok, some parts of this review is just kinda biased. (I agree reply 1988 & weightlifting fairy are super nice! SWAGGG)
I agree with you regarding Eunwoo and true beauty. There’s so much more to him than what is being shown on True Beauty and My ID is a Gangnam beauty. And true beauty is more than just make up

Vincenzo is a must must watch, the front part is boring, but omg, the end every episode just gets better I can assure you. I've watched it twice already. love the plot. v interesting mafia concept. maybe you can give it a try too
I genuinely enjoyed uncontrollably fond, the acting was good and though the plot was slow, I could feel the… emotions? The ending was well thought out imo, when the ml died it wasn’t too over dramatic. But to be fair I watched it when I was sec 2 so 😅

I think you guys might want to try Vincenzo again. While the first couple of episodes are a bit confusing, because I think they're trying to set the contextual background of his character, but the later part of the drama is really good! The interactions between the tenants in the building and Vincenzo and the lawyers are heartwarming and they all work well together. Also, there's the fun bit about taking revenge and the annoying villains hahaha
Hospital Playlist! And if you think IU did well in the other shows, you should watch My Mister!

I feel like the show got better and better, the story was quite well thought out imo and the characters were funny and overall had okay chemistry with each other. I like that there wasn't much romance in this drama because it would have been weird if they focussed on the romance aspect instead. It was interesting to see this concept and the stories within it lah. The ending was quite satisfying too :D

Vagabond: Korean jason bourne, james bond with plenty of parkour n stunts
Fiery priest: Funny badass priest that solves crime and problems with VIOLENCE, which imho is the best way
Kingdom: Zombies in a Korean mediaval setting

VINCENZO is actually extremely good!!! NGL its quite slow for the first 3 ep but trust me after that it gets super exciting!!

Reply 1988 is easily one of the best kdramas of all time. I knew it when I watched the first ep when Deok Sun cried, really accurate for the middle child.
Hospital Playlist fits your bill perfectly. And unsurprisingly, its the same writer as Reply 1988
Misaeng was one of my favourite dramas, wished it appeared in this list too hahahahaha. Personally liked the OSTs that came along with it because it brought me into the drama.
I quite liked Live too, watched it because of Kwangsoo. Personally enjoyed the storyline and loved the actors/actresses acting + OSTs were greaaaaaaat.

Personally, my favs are Kill Me Heal Me, Her Private Life, and W Two Worlds. Most people will probably not agree with Her Private Life, since its story plot is mainly about the female main lead having two diff lifes, as a professional curator and a fansite manager (for idols), but its very relatable to me, hence i like it. The story plot itself also wasn't so bad. For Kill Me Heal Me, it has a really deep story, and it really hits the feels. Its one of the few k-dramas talking about Dissociative identity disorder, and the story plot is not the common predictable ones. It was literally like a roller coaster ride. I highly recommend watching Kill Me Heal Me :)
Watching Vincenzo makes our heart go bedok bedok at the end of every episode. That is why we loved it!

I feel like chan eun woo's acting was underrated, like yes his facial expressions are the same for my id is gangnam beauty and true beauty but it's what the male lead is supposed to be, a very cold guy who is indifferent to everyone around him. It's underrated because he is the complete opposite of the role he has >
doctor john is a really good medical drama too i wish it was mentioned :’) the premise is just really different from usual medical/hospital dramas and it really makes you think about some societal topics which i really value!
my id is gangnam beautiful doesn’t do the main actor and actress justice, if you watch their other dramas you can tell it’s just the drama’s shitting writing
It's okay That's Love deserves to be in S. Amazing acting, amazing plot, amazing script, amazing theme. My fav k-drama of all time

I am totally agree with the grade you guys gave for all of the dramas.. But I think Hospital Playlist should be graded S because for me It's a really good slice of life drama.. The things that I like about Vicenzo is his name is Vicenzo and there's another language involve in the drama plus his intelligence and his badass idea.. But the thing is Vicenzo should be given to fight someone who's more villainous than Han Seok🤣.. Plus I don't accept the ending tho.. As for Prison Playbook, I'm super agree that the drama is super underrated.. The drama deserve more love support😍❤💓💞 And I'm in Jipyeong team🧡🧡🧡

Wow, I don't know any of these lol, except probably those I see in Netflix. The last KDrama that I watched was "Who Are You?" that starred that hot guy from Start Up. Before that, I've only seen "Jewel in The Palace" and some episodes of "What Happens In Bali" only because of Jo In-sung.
Edit: I also watched "Wish You", but the movie version, not the series one.

cha eunwoo characters have all been pretty deadpan 😑 but how bout Rookie Historian goo hae-ryung?? It is one of the lesser-known kdramas by him but his character there had soooooo much more emotion than the other 2. Like 3 times the amount. Through the drama still ended up being meh (prob a C grade) but the story plot of a female historian in the Joseon era was fresh and Cha Eunwoo actually having emotions is commendable. 😊
I hope people will stop saying the criteria of a true kdrama fan. Different people has different taste. If that drama does not appeal to them, what can they do? Watch ah?
