The reason I feel George has thrived where other Latin comics have faded to obscurity is his delivery is multi-dimensional. Equal parts writing, physical comedy, and acting. The acting part is where most others fall short, but it’s super important for impressions and painting a scenario in a joke. When he goes to describe a situation, we totally see it. More comics should take acting classes to help their routines and careers. George was one of Gregory Nava’s stable of Latin actors on his films along with Jennifer Lopez, Lupe Ontiveiros, and Esai Morales back in the day. All of that experience made it’s way into his acts.
My wife and I saw Lopez at the Ice House even before this. I'm from San Gabriel Vally, and she's a nice Jewish girl from same part of the Valley that Lopez came from. We both laughed at his 'spanish'.
Depends on what comedian it is and what the joke is about. acts from the 50s repeated (except Lenny Bruce)all the same jokes and then there's people who just have a kind of shtick that works for them and then there's people who create new stand up every year with different material.it's all different
