As someone who dated a 30-year-old guy when I was just 19, this honestly gives me major red flags. I'm almost 30 now and can confidently say that dating a teenager when you're in your 30s is not okay at all. I know they're both adults and technically legal, but as someone who experienced this, there's always a reason why an older guy can only find teenagers to date them. I was used and abused because, as a teen, you simply don't know any better. These people shape your mind to what they want, and it never ends well. I wish Riley all the best and hope that these things do not end up happening to her.

I’m sure there are reasons why Riley chose to be in this situation, and she probably feels that she has every right to make those choices. However, when she is older and has some more life experience, she may look at the situation differently. Most people have been there, when you are younger but you feel like you’re an adult and you know everything. She definitely seems emotionally intelligent and mature for sure. However, she describes a situation where she is the main or perhaps only one taking care of dinner and getting the kids set up for dinner, and that sounds like an unbalanced relationship. And his dig about her cooking. Perhaps he can cook sometimes and also take on some of the childcare so that she can take a cooking class/watch some TH-cam tutorials/etc. Instead he insults her and plays it off like a joke. No one deserves that kind of treatment.

Once I hit 25 I stopped dating people younger.. I'm 30 now and could NEVER imagine dating a 19 year old. My husband and I poke little jokes at each other because he's 28 and pretend like that's a huge gap (we know it's not, we just have fun with it) but a 19 year old?! Mmm.. yeah.. no thanks. Nine-TEEN. I know we don't know everything about these people and their situation. But i'd just like to point out a few things that i couldn't help but notice, and its bothering me:
1) the stepmom does appears nice, but i think the mom is too. she's just painted in a bad way because the situation may have not shown the best of her (hard breakup it seems), and the stepmom is nice in a way that is very apparent /performative (not saying she’s faking it). i think the mom is authentic. so yeah i was just saying so that the comments don't just focus on how the stepmom is great, implying the mom is not/less.
2) i could feel some futile words said by he stepmom which kinda felt mean?: the rating that was absolutely unnecessary, wanting to elaborate on the sexlife (even though she pointed out how the father was failing to understand her being tired after taking charge of things and not talked about the sex itself) when the mom told her to just take a shot, and idk even pointing out the mom was older? I MIGHT BE TOTALLY WRONG I'M NOT SURE BUT I'M INTERESTED IN YOUR THOUGHTS BECAUSE ITS INTERESTING TO ANALYZE INTERACTIONS.
3) what i'm sure about is how the father is the prototype of a man who doesn't take mental load in his family. sir it's easy to be calm and collected like you are when apparently you're not the one taking care of cooking, the preparation of the evening etc (based on what his fiancée said). It even seems to me (i could be wrong obviously) like the mom and the stepmom took care of good and healthy communication rather than him making sure that the two could work together etc (once again, mental load being put on women, i cannot go deep into the details in a youtube comment but i encourage you all to learn and know about mental load put on woman in relations and family. once you know and are conscious about this, it's very easy to notice it...).The two women maybe can't stand eachother but they seems so much mature and contributing to the family.
4) common we cannot ignore the fact that another older man likes to goes towards younger women, i have nothing to say about it since it's just so another typical male comportment that is pretty fucked up.

i first saw this on snapchat and only 20 seconds in (including 3 ads) i immediately had to search the full story on youtube and thank GOD everyone sees how absurdly creepy this dude seems, especially with him telling ex wife to “slow down” with his daughter while actively pursuing a relationship with a 19 year old and raising children with her 💀
Unpopular opinion but I feel the mother comes across as the more likeable person simply because she's honest about her flaws, humble and even self deprecating. All the while uplifting the stepmother and not having a bad word to say about her. She is able to reflect on her past errors and errors in judgement with honesty and humor. She admits dishonesty at the initial who broke up with who comment. She admits that she judged the stepmother based on her age but then felt better about her when she got to know her.
Meanwhile the stepmother comes across as self-righteous despite being the youngest in the equation. She shows her age with her teenager-ish know it all attitude. She slick tries to disparage the mother in a few comments. And the attractiveness comment, "9.5 physically to a 6.5 when someone gets to know you" -- ouch. To say something like that unabashed to someone's face either reveals a very mean spirited character, a deep dislike, or at the very least an immature girl who lacks tact. Best case scenario, the difference between these women may just be maturity level/humbleness that comes with age and life experience. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
You may be right. But it may be hard to move past whatever drama the mom may have caused in the past. As you said she seems apologetic about it, but we don't know how serious it was. I think the fact that they are able to sit down and be cordial, show how mature the stepmom is tbh

The mother literally admitted to trying to make her run but the step mom stuck around so at the very least we know the step mom had to endure some real shit drama from the mother. We don’t know the full extent to what the mother did but at the very least she Facebook harassed the step mom as was discussed. So I think the step mom gets a pass on saying that she initially found her attractive but when she got to know her it dropped. Being real with someone about how their actions effect others perception of them is not self righteous and while it’s admirable that the mother is working on being better that does not erase her past wrong doings and the ramifications of it. The step mom was mature enough to allow the mother the chance at rebuilding the bridge she burnt with her and she doesn’t have to sugarcoat and whitewash the history they had before getting to where they are today and pretend it was sunshine and rainbows.
When I was 15 I was in a relationship with a 20 year old guy. I thought it's not a big deal, plus I was "mature" for my age. I'm turning 20 in summer, so I'm still 19 as of now, but I would never date anybody under 18, much less a 15 year old... It's an incredibly repulsive thought and I feel weird even just *talking* to anybody under 18 as friends alone. I think this is going to be the same situation. When she'll be 30 she'll look back and see how disgusted she feels at the thought of dating someone who's only 19.
Telling women to rate eachothers attractiveness is so dumb. All they will do is politicize it like the step mom did. She comes off as “nice” but she’s like oh you’re a 9.5 but then you’re a seven bc you’re a b**ch is basically what she’s saying. It’s shallow and stupid. This was a hot mess disguised as a "calm respecful interaction" and I feel bad for lil blonde mama. She was careful with what she said and did her best to lighten the mood and not take offense(even when she was directly insulted i.e. "a 6 when they get to know you hehehe") but she got piled on by her "calm and rational" ex and his "mature for her age" new baby mama and I hated it.
