Swimming Pool Salt Cell Cleaning

If your salt chlorine generator stops working, or the "inspect cell" light is flashing, it is a very good indication that the salt cell should be acid washed. The scale buildup is caused by mineral deposits, pH, and heat. It is inevitable that the cell will need to be acid washed. This can be done by mixing 50% muriatic acid, with 50% water, and patience. At some point you will need to do this, however it is recommended to do every 3 months.
