Bill has a style that is incredibly unique. No one on earth riffs like he does. The slinky riffing definitely gives me a Swansong/Heartwork vibe, kind of like No Love Lost slinky. His tone is to die for. Jeff’s voice has held up well and sounds exceptionally nasty. When the both harmonize vocally it’s a complete eargasm for me…awesome song.

“So Accessible” though? A masterpiece for sure. And of course all things being relative, would only consider Heartwork “accessible” when compared to,….ummmm, maybe Harmony Corruption, ummmm, I don’t know, something even more extreme which is quite difficult to define concretely. They even said that they have never cared whether their work was embraced by the masses or not, and in fact have stated that massive record sales are a sign of a compromised work of art.

I've been listening to Carcass since 1990.. and I've seen them live countless time.. great to see them still holding it down.. I was 12 when I discovered them.. im 42 now..
Reek & Symphonies blew my mind back in the 90's. I wasn't too crazy about Heartwork, But Necroticism shredded. 🤘 I'd say Carcass is one of my top 20 favorites.
@@IazuJS They lost their edge for a bit. Tried to go more commercial mainstream with Heartwork. But "Tools of the Trade" EP & "Surgical Steel" put them back on track. I probably missed a few albums, Cuz I'm getting old. But Carcass is a favorite.

These pentatonic riffs remind me on Bill Steer's Firebird project, just tuned lower and Jeff singing. Seriously. Listen to Death Trap or Forsaken from them. You can discover some elements of these riffs there. Really excited for the new Carcass album, seems to be really varied.
After Firebird Bill became more of a traditional heavy rock soloist i think...For me soloing speaking his brilliance was in the descanting the insalubrious solos . But they remain an insanely good band....
I only discovered Carcass about 10 years ago and I devoured their whol catalogue and love every minute. This new material (including the last EP) does not disappoint. Slightly different direction to it I think, but I love it.
Carcass were one of the influential bands from my early years. I still have cassettes of Reek of Putrefaction & Symphonies of Sickness. Led me on a lifelong love for grind
Carcass only puts out perfection. Always something different from album to album, but uniquely them. It's a pretty amazing feat when you have a instantly recognizable sound for 30 plus years & it still works with their continued progression. Been a fan since Necroticism. Keep it up, guys and thank you once again!
What a killer track! Can't wait for the new album when it comes out. I have a guitar pick Bill Steer gave me when they performed in Sydney in 2015 with Napalm Death. Hopefully they will tour down under again in the future.
This is pretty damn groovy, that main riff has a killer hook, the song is very reminiscent of the Swansong era, no issue there for me, death n roll all the way....🤘🤘

At a concert in LA, they looked over at everyone in the crowd and said that if anyone wants to hear a song from one of the first two albums, let us know, any song...I felt like they looked right at me and I wanted to say something so bad but I just froze... I feel so stupid thinking about it later... I wanted to shout out "Burnt to a pimple" so bad. Those who know the lyrics to that song would have got that.
@@Tronderose Yeah, before that, I was entering the building to go in and heard a guy asking the bouncers if they had any more of the VIP tickets, the bouncer said that he just gave the last ones to my friend and I. We were so stoned that we didn't even realize that Ken Owen was upstairs and we could have went up there to meet him. I really wish that I could go back in time and rewind that night and try it again. Damn...I think I saw Bill Steer outside of the concert venue afterwards and wanted to say something to him but I wasn't sure if it was him or not... Pretty sure it was. 😬😒 it was still a great time seeing Carcass live after listening to them all of those years. I brought my friend along with me that got into it right when I did back then. I bought the Reek of Putrefaction record within the first year of its release and he bought Symphonies of Sickness within the first year of its release. We were really into Carcass, even in the Necroticism days. I still remember taking the bus down to The Warehouse Records next to the Lakewood mall and bought it within its first week of release. I brought my Sony Walkman with me so I can listen to it on the bus ride back.

I obviously love the sound of Carcass and I'm glad they managed to pull off an album that can stand up to Surgical Steel - that's a huge task and they're able to make it seem easy. But I've been noticing Napalm's output of animated music videos recently. Why does every larger band with a contract at Napalm get one of these videos in the exact same style, obviously from the same artist (or artists)? They seem interchangeable and "one-fits-all"... Is this just to please the algorithm and give us something to look at / glue our eyes to the screen?
If you speed up the song sounds like heartwork material. Carcass plays so much with their sound, can’t deny they are one of the most creative bands within the extreme metal genre.
Carcass in slow mode (if you put the video velocity in 1.25 or 1.5 sounds great too). I Like the perpetual "Swansong" sound. The animation reminds me to the last few Opeth and Steven Wilson videos.

Probably the finest metal band in the world. The entire band are truly the masters of their art and instruments.
Their sound always evolved, every album was different to the previous one and yet you can recognize them from the first 2-3 notes!

They are originals. They have their own distinct sound, composition, playing . That's why they are one my favourites in the whole metal genre...

it was still a great time seeing Carcass live after listening to them all of those years. I brought my friend along with me that got into it right when I did back then. I bought the Reek of Putrefaction record within the first year of its release and he bought Symphonies of Sickness within the first year of its release. We were really into Carcass, even in the Necroticism days. I still remember taking the bus down to The Warehouse Records next to the Lakewood mall and bought it within its first week of release. I brought my Sony Walkman with me so I can listen to it on the bus ride back.

I obviously love the sound of Carcass and I'm glad they managed to pull off an album that can stand up to Surgical Steel - that's a huge task and they're able to make it seem easy.
But I've been noticing Napalm's output of animated music videos recently. Why does every larger band with a contract at Napalm get one of these videos in the exact same style, obviously from the same artist (or artists)? They seem interchangeable and "one-fits-all"... Is this just to please the algorithm and give us something to look at / glue our eyes to the screen?

If you speed up the song sounds like heartwork material. Carcass plays so much with their sound, can’t deny they are one of the most creative bands within the extreme metal genre.

Carcass in slow mode (if you put the video velocity in 1.25 or 1.5 sounds great too). I Like the perpetual "Swansong" sound. The animation reminds me to the last few Opeth and Steven Wilson videos.
