  • IWI Tavor 7 Bullpup in 7.62x51 NATO is the big Brother to the X-95 and TAR-21 in 5.56 NATO. Super compact and light on recoil, this Bullpup delivers at the range. Thanks to IWI for supplying the Tavor 7 for the review. #Tavor7 #IWI #Bullpup

      Trae UCity I can understand you find guns fun. But to say its a revolutionary industry I don’t understand. The way this industry works is kind of like automobiles in the sense that entry barriers for new companies are huge. This doesn’t drive innovation. Nothing really changed in the last 60 years. I could totally imagine a new doctrine like electric cars did for the automobile industry should be possible in the firearms industry. Just a feeling tough..

    Got mine about a week after it came out. Love it. Agree with all your comments. For me it's the perfect 7.62 NATO platform. An if you know how to take advantage of the bullpup design you can outshoot any AR10 in just about every position but prone. It may be less accurate on paper but it's practical accuracy more than makes up for it by nature of its better balance and controllability.

      When I got my Tavor7, it was with hunting in heavy timber for bear and white tail in mind. After shooting it with my long time favorite .308 hand load for that purpose, I discovered that my particular Tavor7 will shoot at and into 1 inch @ 100 yards consistently. Shooting out to 400 yards, it hits right where it's pointed! These rifles are accurate and reliable beyond what is being reported in my opinion.

    • @Berzrk-Z
      @Berzrk-Z 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @JamesWitworth I just bought mine and am having trouble finding a legit answer to the question of using 308 ammo instead of 7.62x51. So, can you use 308 ammo without issue in the Tavor 7?

    After the 1:12 twist and suggested 150 grain max weight round was acknowledged, at the range immediately go with 180 grain ammo :)
    Honestly looks really attractive..I had my mind set on the DD DDV SBR..but this unit is way shorter with a much longer barrel AND it’s piston. Very nice.

    • @joshmatlock3410

      @goodbonezz1289 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@joshmatlock3410 I was only pointing out in the video how he stated lighter weight bullets were better. He went on to say with this rifles twist rate of 1:12, the maximum bullet weight should be 150 grain. Fast forward to the range…what does he say they’re using?
      180 grain ammo! That was a head scratcher. Personally I’m not too familiar with 308 twist rates so I’d just research it and make your best decision. I’m sure you’ll be fine. HOWEVER…Wasn’t he complaining about the shot groups being kind of large? Maybe because they were using heavier rounds like they should not have been.

    like the way that you guys tested the accuracy on this by setting it on a table with a sturdy stand that is more molded to the shape of the gun. I’ve noticed other shooters on TH-cam that will test the rifle for accuracy in prone position but you will see the rifle itself rock to the right or left as they’re firing or you’ll see a lot of movement front to back. Nice job. I got the 20 and am excited to try it out.

    M-14s with 1:12 twist firing 168gr HPBT bullets dominated the National Matches at Camp Perry for over 20 years.

    • @gsxr1189
      @gsxr1189 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nowadays if you want to maximize the potential of 308 at least with factory loads you need a 1/10 to run 185gr FGMM but the Tavor isn't accurate enough to justify the use of such ammo anyway nevermind the fact that it's as heavy as most DMR's.

    • @24Mossberg
      @24Mossberg 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Weight is important to me. All things said, I would go with the M-14.

    • @mikemagnum7987
      @mikemagnum7987 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've been running 168 Nosler BTBT hand loads in my Tavor 7 for a little over a year now. I get consistent 1 moa at 100 yards and sometimes, when I'm having a good day, a bit less... Water filled gallon milk jugs at 400 yards are easy to hit with this rifle. The 1-12 twist is entirely suitable for bullet weights up to 180 grain. I've hand loaded for for the .308 for nearly 50 years and the majority of those rifles have been sub 1 moa, many going sub .5 moa all with a 1-12 twist shooting 165-168 grain bullets...

    Yet another fine, informative, useful video presentation...thank you! Can you tell me, please, what is that music at the end? I must hear more of it!

    I am interested in this. I live in a restricted state so getting AR10s is not easy or cheap. I also live in an urban area so my philosophy of use (other than range) is CQB- SHTF - in the streets/house to house clearing situation.

    Very good review of the Tavor 7. I like this bullpup... but I like the Desert Tech MDRX too. What do you recommend?
    I didn't see your video comparing the Tavor 7 to the Desert Tech MDRX on your channel. Hopefully, you will still do that as I'd really be interested in that. Thanks.

    Being from IWI, this should be the most reliable 7.62NATO bullpup on the market right now. It even has a nice compensator right out of the box. I'm a proud owner of one of the latest Kel-Tec RFBs, 18" barrel, but I had to order a muzzle brake because it just came with a A2 flash hider. Very effective flash hider but not so much for recoil.

      MAC (militaryarmschannel) talks about owning both in his tavor .308 review and speaks frankly about both having rough starts but are now great after being refined. Says he just never felt the MDR was of military grade durability whereas the tavor is. We all get to spend our own money on what we want so to each their own

    The Whole left handed thing was an insta sell for me to be honest. Plus the compact shape makes it perfect for close quarters combat if that ever became the situation

      Another great thing is it's shorter than some SBRs, yet, having cleared the minimum barrel and overall length minimums, it isn't an NFA tax/license (and effectively registered) item. It's just a regular rifle.
