The junior did not do the Alfista justice. The Junior design could've been a lot better despised, being a crossover. Doesn't matter if it's designed by the same division who design supercars. IMO, the junior shouldn't even exist or at the very least not a crossover. Saying the rear is similar to the TZ is a disgrace, that's like saying Trump and Putin are related because they have the same hair. They have so many inspirations from their older designs, I can get by with the plate displacement, but that trefoil is utterly unacceptable. Shame, honestly.
Damn straight. When I heard they were renewing the Junior label, I was stoked - thinking of the glorious thing from the 70s. Instead, we got another sharp, angular conformo-box. Yay.
Beautiful car but I just don’t get why car manufacturers are making compact family cross overs that are so small in the back that they are totally impractical. Weird !
I agree. Probably because in many European markets, this segment is very popular and is mostly driven alone or with one passenger. It keeps the weight down and the cost. But yes, it would have been good if there was 10cm more space in the back. Just as the EX30, I call this a two-seater with a decent boot.
We're optimistic given the changes they've made. But we can never be sure till we've driven it so make sure you don't miss @Samsheehan55's driving impressions when we upload it by subscribing and turning on notifications 😄 / Jamil
Does it have a flat 4. Maybe a twin cam or a busso. What about a more morden 2.9v? No? Then there is your answer. This is not an Alfa Romeo just because it has the badge. This like all the rest is a vacuum cleaner. They'll probably sell 9 in the entire world. The owners of Alfa Romeo know only one thing and that's how to lose money.

Jesus, it is a lot worse than I feared. There is no overall idea guiding the design. It is just a lot of really childish design elements that have been thrown together in the hopes that the result might be mistaken for an Alfa. Nobody would mistake this for a good looking car. Much less an Alfa. And you can’t sell it as “was designed by a supercar designer”. Does it look anything like a supercar? No it doesn’t. So where is the relevance? Something that looks like a confused mess won’t look any better just because we now know that the designer was capable of better - but chose to do … this. Ps: “rosso” means “red” in Italian
I am so ashamed for Alfa Romeo racing legacy and fine brand pushed down the drain lately. The last two models look like any other crap flowing down the streets. Is that a Renault.. no it's Alfa Romeo Milano. What sort of portfolio management this is from Stellantis? You have a historical premium brand in your hands and you choose to screw it with making cars looking like everyone else is doing already. This is not Alfa. Not my Alfa.
Yeah, about inspirations... Front looks like Renault Captur with scudetto sticker bought on aliexpress, back is similar to Peugeot 2008 and Opel Mokka combined into one monstrocity. Continuing with logic of refering to historical models, one could say that the design refers to fiat multipla because it is ugly as f**k. All things you said refer to some models are only features that designers considered trending among all car manufacturers. And using french puretech engines famous for their unreliability - well at least one thing will be refering to the past 🤦 that's a shame especially because Giulia and Stelvio started to oppose the stereotype. And as a potential buyer and Alfa Romeo fan I'm disappointed because I thought they will come up with a car acually worth buying. And now I will probably buy cupra formentor instead which is superior to this crap in every way (design, engines, handling, reliability, sportiness, price). What bothers me the most is that the sales will probably slightly increase, which will lead the management to believe that new controversial design is well accepted - and this will probably lead to putting similar design to new stelvio and giulia 🤮🤦
How the heck in the world would this be better than Tonale when it was a good step down from the Stelvio? After Stelvio & Giulia every AR is utter crap, as are some amateurs running it!
Hmm, I don't love the look of this or the 33 stradale to be honest. And for that price, 254 miles is just not enough, not even close. The interior is great though.

After working for a long time with FCA including Alfa, it’s got to be said straight: NEITHER THE NEW 33 OR THE RECENT MILANO/JUNIOR are Alfa! Both are going to meet the same fate as some forgettable vehicles in a very short time. A shame, really …
Some have said that about Alfa ever since the company was nationalised after the war….Then the Sud wasn’t a real Alfa, then the 916 GTV and Spider for also being fwd, then the 156/147, then the 159 and Breras with their GM engines. If it’s made by Alfa with influence from Alfa engineers, it’s an Alfa.
@@jamesroseby3823 you got me wrong. Let me clarify a bit why I mentioned the cars as not being an AR. To be an Alfa, it simply doesn’t work with employees of AR to come up with a model and call it a true one. The cars that you mentioned, all were having a look and feel of an Alfa, mechanical choices considered. However, the new types like the Mito, the 33 and the newest Milano/Junior just doesn’t look like an Alfa, doesn’t have an Alfa Romeoness about them, even if they were made by people from within AR. The 156 was a look that could have only come from an AR, just look at any other similar cars in that sector from other carmakers. The 159 was a near perfect example of a successor of 156 as is the Giulia. The stunt cars to gather curiosity like the 4C was an instantly recognisable AR, something which the overstyled 33 isn’t despite trying to walk the same path(just look at the 8C to figure out what this means). Similarly the Milano/Junior shouts a hybrid PSA car and not an AR, as is the Tonale, at least in the interior, even if nice looking just isn’t an Alfa DNA, ref the Stelvio, a full AR affair. Hope this clears things a bit.
