This is so much better, it’s not really a Jumpscare as much as it’s a death scene you’re living in. The mystery, tension, and atmosphere are just fantastic I feel like the deaths in Pressure should be more like this and the Wall Dwellers.
Though I gotta say, for a variant this cool, I think it'd be out of place for Chainsmoker to be the *only* Angler variant with a special death screen, you would think. Perphaps I'm tweaking, but the rest of variants should also receive something special too. Frogger comes directly from Iron Lung, so there's a broad space for it. Idk bout Pinkie tho lol

Something I like is that the death isn’t really a jumpscare, it opens, and you just drop dead. That’s that. I like the implication that the player just has a heart attack or other shock related death from seeing what’s inside instead of being flatly killed by something inside it (that’s more how I personally see it tho)

The box opening literally just means chainsmoker basically ate us. 2) In the paranoias box document, one of the things listed to try to break the box is redacted, so i’m wondering if that thing was chainsmoker. I think he ate the box, and that’s why we see it in his jumpscare

I dont think they even knew about chainsmoker during testing of trying to open the box, as in the angler document, it says that the variants only appeared AFTER the blacksite lockdown. another problem is that the chainsmoker eating thing is even more false, as the paranoias box can be seen in a heavy containment side room, showing that its still there, uneaten.
I think the developers did cool on this one, but I think it'd be better if it was like the green smoke slowly invades your slowing blurring screen and you can hear chainsmoker's ambience getting slower and slower before it all cuts to black
the angler variants are supposed to be that way because it takes something familiar and predictable and turns it into a challenge that you have to remember for next playthroughs. making a document about it just gives the player familiarity of that angler and it kinda just ruins the point.

Unknowing of the new jumpscare, i hear these weird ass noises and then about 15 seconds later i die

I wish they would have different files based on which Angler variant you died to instead of just having the regular Angler file
