Xiong Jing Nan is an inspiration and a bright eyed smiley nice person. Respect to Ayaka Miura as well.
.....nice gesture by Xiong to wipe away a tear of Miura in the end. Both are quite honorable.
Miura was in the fight to the end, but the days when you can go into MMA with nothing but a decent single leg take down and some good groundwork are long over.

In her previous fight Jing Nan tamed a BJJ world champion. In this fight she tamed a judo expert. Jing Nan is in prime condition, she looked as fresh at the end as she did at the start. In both fights she adjusted her style to follow her Team Jing Nan fight plans. When fighting ground specialists caution has to prevail. The top fighters adjust their style if necessary to produce a result. If her next fight is against a striker, Jing Nan will be more aggressive and show her unique talent in this area.

Seems to me Jing Nan is now more calculating and not take as much unnecessary risks.
TKO or KO is irrelevant! She stuffed 100% of Ayaka's takedown attempt and were touching her up for 5 rounds straight and won!

The KO does matter to Jing Nan, otherwise she wouldn't have claimed that she would KO Ayaka. Yeah sure, she defended Ayaka's take downs but that also means that Ayaka was the dominant fighter because she made Jing Nan play her game.If Jing Nan had been dominant there wouldn't have been as many take down attempts because she would have punished them, but she couldn't.
@@JerehmiaBoaz She is actually not a ruthless fighter.She probably mentioned the KO simply because nearer called her boring, but then didn't have the malevolence, to punish miura. If you look at the couple of her other fights, she tried to draw the referee's attention to the unnecessary abuse that the other fighter was taking.She's not like Tiffany Tio, who has really turned into a bloodthirsty and ruthless fighter
I was worried for Miura, when this fight was announced, because it looked like another one of these one Championships irresponsible, mismatches, like the match between Miura and Teo proved to be. I think a lot of these young girls, are thrown into fights by their trainers, who inflate thePneumonia confidence, knowing theyy have no chance, because they are on a money promise, and the poor girl takes the prolonged, inescapable beating of her life, which they woouldn't even receive on the streets, with the assailant getting a 10 year stretch, for something more than GBH. should not have been alllowed to return after her demolition by Tiffany Teo until she had proven that she had a potent striking game

In Spain, the word "Miura" is the name of the most aggressive and dangerous class of fighting bulls.
Why wasn't Miura striking in the clinches? And she could have feinted the takedown sometimes to set up strikes to keep Xiong guessing.
I get frustrated seeing missed opportunities like that too, but I guess adrenaline and being flustered by strikes can ruin anyone's gameplan.

Ayaka Miura needs to train harder regarding her striking coz that's where she lacks at. I think she should also play smarter instead of focusing on taking down her opponents. I mean, if she can't do a takedown, at least hit the opponent while clenching on her. Strike and strike while there's an opportunity to strike, and do the takedown when there's an opportunity for it.
Xiong Jing Nan also needs to improve her striking and speed. I can't feel the power on her hands anymore. It's been a long time we haven't seen a KO from her.

I'm a big fan of Xiong Jing Nan, but this was a real disappointment last night. The fight I was most excited to see and it was by far the most boring of the night. I feel a little like Xiong has been holding back for the last couple of fights. It wasn't all her fault though, Miura just kept going for the same move over and over again even though it never worked out.
Jing nan played it safe ..it wasn't the most exciting matchup ..chatri himself said that .

@@user-wq2li2hd5g I felt like on the last one (was it Julie Mezabarba?) she took it easy because her opponents father had just passed away - and I kind of admired the way she avoided getting into grappling.
But if we want to see a victory over Angela Lee, she's going to have to get into the grappling side of things, she won't be able to avoid it.

I believe that a fighter who specializes in grappling will never be able to beat Xiong. I think the only ones capable of such a feat would be Stamp or Angela Lee.

Xiong is one of the most skilled fighters in ONE FC. But at the same time, it is pretty obvious why she couldn't KO her opponents. If you look at her arms and compare that to videos of her years ago, you will notice that she has become a bit more flabby. That's probably why she lost a bit of her KO power. Nonetheless still respect to her.

Why do these MMA fighters keep going for the same boring move (eg) takedown when nothing comes of it? It really is pointless most of the time as they quite often end up underneath anyway. Or virtually stuck up against the cage side for ages! Nicolini is another one of these and maybe they really cannot fight or trade punches standing up!
Still a waste of good time unless they really know what they are doing! I am very sure that Xiong Jing could have easily K.Od Miura if she had wanted. It looked like she was holding back!

Still won though! I like this Jing Nan more, more mature, calculating, better timing, better tactics, better strategy, and more patience! She is still the queen and a beautiful person. Ayaka FAILED to even take her down once, not 1 time. Very disappointing!

What a great display of excellence this one was by Jing Nan! She respected the strength from Ayaka and held a 100% take-down defense rate against an accomplished judo grappler! That’s ONE hell of a deal! Of course she was better at striking and kicking. But she stayed on her feet! And thus she gave Ayaka no chance at all of winning. Ayaka got factually defeated on her own grounds! It shows Jing Nan is now by far the best allround fighter. Well deserved win and tremendous fight-tactics. This was a team effort for that part. They trained her well enough on the takedown defense. Oh, als many kudos to both warriors for their stamina. They kept going for it in the 5th as hard as they did in the 1st!
You could also claim that Ayaka effectively beat Jing Nan's striking and reduced her to defending take downs. IOW no, it isn't one hell of a deal, this was two fighters who both couldn't seriously hurt each other, not withstanding that Jing Nan assured us she would knock Ayaka out.
The level is so low. How can Xiong be the champion of the division?
The only interesting thing about this fight was the pre-fight announcement by Dom Lau. Need to restrict and impose time limit on takedown attempts in MMAs.
