DMSO is still included in the recipe in a very small %, b/c it's absolutely fantastic for joint aches/pains but.....I've now added MSM to the pool. This is, by far, the BEST Magnesium Cream you'll ever try. If you have never tried magnesium in any form, you may experience a burning or itching sensation, so just be aware of that. That usually means that you are extremely deficient in magnesium. I no longer get that sensation as I use this cream regularly. If you would rather not use the DMSO simply omit it and add that percentage onto your water portion.
I made the magnesium cream and it separated the next day. I ended up using my stick blender and mixing it again and it is holding together now. Love this stuff!
Yes, that's why I painstakingly mix, cool, mix, cool the batch to ensure that DMSO stay's in emulsion. I've never had mine split doing it that way. Glad you like it. Works SO well.
Great product. Do l have to become a member of any sort to purchase this recipe. I have arthritis and suffer with leg cramps and i would rather use something like this than the rubbish the doctors are trying to make me take. Love your videos.
@@Carolyn-d5p No, the recipe is available on my website soap-chef.com or my Etsy shop @soapchefmolds Once you try this, you’ll never go back to store bought stuff again. It really works. Just follow the directions closely on mixing so it will stay in solution for the long haul. DMSO takes a little more time to incorporate. Hope you find relief. Leg cramps are the worst.
I don’t have a whisk blender. I do have a hand mixer which I see is a no. I have a blender and also an immersion blender. Should I just find one like you are using?
After the cream is made, it is warm and that’s the reason for leaving the lids off so that condensation doesn’t form on the top of the lid. I always leave my products overnight without lids or caps on them. I come back the next day and check the consistency and then I put caps and lids on, just like I did in the video.
Hi! I'm hoping you can answer a question. Can castor oil be substituted for one of the butters or is there a way to add it without it causing the cream to be too thin?
Because of the structure of this particular cream, using dmso and msm, I wouldn't suggest any substitutes. I wouldn't be able to confidently say that it would be stable with substitutes. This cream, because of the ingredients, needs to be mixed precisely for it to stay in emulsion.
im finding my cream doesn't rub in very well, it kind of rolls up... like when u get out of a hot bath and rub your skin with a towel. It feels like a dryer cream and doesn't slide. Any feedback would be great. Thx.
@@Sistermoon111 The magnesium makes the cream very thick. I take some between my hands and cream it in my hands first before applying. It doesn’t do for me, what you’re saying it does for you.
That’s incorrect information. Studies have shown when used at 50% and above in a topical solution , it was shown to enter the blood stream within 5 minutes. This was determined when other ingredients were dissolved in the dmso which is not the case here. The amount used in this formula is miles away from 50%. Even at 25% you would need a prescription. We are nowhere near that amount. As with any product that we make, caution must be used by the maker. The DMSO in this formula is a very low % and it's diluted by 62.5% of the water portion. It's added to this product to help the other ingredients absorb more readily into the skin. If you are at all concerned with any ingredient in any formula, DONT USE IT. Toxicity of dmso occurs when other substances are dissolved in it such as chemotherapy drugs, heavy metals, pesticides and other toxic compounds.
@@TheSoapCheffascinating information. I just went down a rabbit hole researching this and your explanation is the only thing that makes sense to me! Thank you! I must try this.
There's a ton of information out there, most of which is inconclusive. The most important thing to note is that we are not dissolving anything into 50% or more dmso. So the fear mongers out there are putting forth blanket statements. I've been using dmso since the 90's when I was a massage therapist. Of course the main star of the show is the magnesium & with the msm added now, it can't be beat.

You can use a hand mixer. I would not recommend using a blender.
After filling the jars, do you leave the lids off until it has thickened or do you put lids on right away?
