    Earlier, I picked up this same machine at my local thrift store. Thanks for educating that an all plastic frame may bend/distort when not fully assembled-this may account for a small adjustment that’s still needed. 👏👏👏

    I agree so heartily - why not fix something that although it's not the top of the line and can't do all the things, fix it for what it can do? I'm so glad I found you. I've taken machines apart but not known what I was doing. Now I have someone who does! Quick question: is it possible to restore plastic that has yellowed over time? I have 3 Pfaff machines that are from the 1990's and early 2000's and I LOVE them. But the covers and some parts of the machines have yellowed. Does your 303 stuff just make it shiny or does it restore the color as well?

    Thank you so much for your tutorial. It has really helped me understand how this machine works and how to clean it. What machine would you recommend for a newbie like me and one that is good quality in "metal". I like to use this one but I will eventually want something with more bells and whistles...but not too hard to figure out. Thanks so much. Have a blessed day.

    Terrific tutorial! Im giving my mom's XL2600i to my granddaughter and I've been having trouble ensuring the bobbin case is inserted correctly, due to some clanks and one or two thread breaks.
    I fixed that, but thought id keep on watching so i can learn a bit more about tension, etc. Sharing will be much nicer now after watching your video.
    I found out hiw to adjust thr top tension, but the manual didn't say if the bottom tension could be adjusted, when you indicated you'd adjusted the lower tension, but i didn't see where you did that. What did i miss?
    Thank you very much.

    I bought a cheap, low cost Singer, Walmart model sewing machine at a thrift store for $7.99. i thought, how bad can it be? I plugged it in and tested it and was pleased ,so, i bought it. Doing further tsting at home i did cursery lint removal and oil. But, after sewing a couple minutes it makes a loud noise and breaks the thread. Any ideas for me???? How do you determine when it's time to toss?

    I never thought about these plastic sewing machines as beginners to graduate up from. I just never had faith in them. Disposable is not a thing i like.

    Watched your video while taking the machine apart. The “taped” screw got taken out🤦‍♀️. What problems would that create?

    I have a little computerized Brother CS 6000i that I really like for taking for classes or group sewing. Light and easy to move. One thing that makes me curious, do you think more lint builds up around the bobbin on the drop in style bobbins?

    • @seffssweetsstitches2897
      @seffssweetsstitches2897 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a good question. I have both a plastic machine and a all metal. The plastic has a drop-in bobbin and I noticed it definitely collects more lint in the bobbin area.

    My husband just brought me this machine from thrift store, and the upper thread gets caught around the bobbin housing. I opened it up, but i can't see what is causing it.

    Hi Ssewing Machine Repair Guy...I repair computers and I love it...I am new to sewing and I've learned things from your channel. I have a White 1525 Sewing Machine and it works great...the only issue I have with it is that...when I put my foot on the Foot Control Pedal and begin sewing the light bulb on the machine goes out....but when I take my foot off the pedal...the light comes on. It's only when I sew that the light turns off?? I've read through the manual and the troubleshooting portion as well but no mention of this. Although I am new to sewing...I don't think the light should go out when placing foot on pedal?? Can you give me direction on what to look at or things to look at?? or is this just the nature of this paticular machine??

      make sure the knob is pushed far enough to expose the groove where the clip goes. put the clip in place then needle nose pliers to fasten the clip so it's completely in the groove. hope this helps.

    I really enjoy your videos. I do have a question for you. My sister is looking for a good beginner machine for her 9 year old granddaughter. She had purchased a Brother from Amazon. They had to return it because it just would not sew right. Do you have any suggestions on an economy machine she might try? Thank you for your videos. They are wonderful!

      Normally that would require replacing the motor as well as doing some stuff to the pedal, for a mechanical machine.

    Hello Wes, hope you are doing fine. I have a problem with my singer sewing machine. The straight stitch works fine but the zig zag or any other stitches doesn't work. The needle could move only a little bit on the sideways. I've adjusted from the needle bar but it doesn't solve the problem. Can you help me out? It's a singer brilliance 6180 machine
