Thanks so much! I know what I'm doing now, and what to look for. Using husband's traktor at a night in his memory. Was really nervous about dealing with it as I don't know anyone else that used it/wouldn't just use cdjs instead. Brother in law is relying on me to have a vinyl solution. To be honest, he'll probably use actual records from the collection, but now I can safely give him the other option. Phew!!
Great explanation of how to connect the leads between the mixer and the A6 amp. But what happens when you suddenly want to use a traditional phono vinyl to mix together with the 'transformed' on. Could you help with this one??
Hey Paul, I am wondering if it would be possible to connect just a Macbook Pro to the Audio 6 (via USB) and have the Audio 6 output sound to a mixer, in my case the DJM 800, using RCA cables. My rational is that Traktor Pro 2 on my MBP will send digital signals to the Audio 6 and the Audio 6 will be able to relay the digital signals to a DJM 800, where it can be mixed and outputted to the sound system. Does this sound like something that would work or am I missing something here?
Does anything get plugged in the "main" in and outputs on the other side of the soundcard? Thank you for the video, very helpful. Planning on getting this soundcard and a allen and heath xone 43 mixer.
Would this exact interface work in the same way if I was using an X1 instead of the technics? Just have nothing in the input rcas of interface, just the a6 into computer, then a and b outputs to 2 channels?
Hi, I believe it should work. In the Traktor software, you are able to set whether your loaded tracks are controlled by either the turntable, or the computer/external controller.
Hi, (1) To connect 4 turntables, I guess someone needs two A6 interfaces, connecting them on a powered USB HUB, then the output of the HUB, has to be connected in one computer with TRAKTOR PRO3 which has 4 channels and you assign them through Midi Audio SetUp? Correct or am I wrong? (2) Are you satisfied with the quality of sound, the A6 makes? Thanks for the video!
+ikbeneensteen: You need to referred to your mixer manual. Or research your mixer on youtube, more likely you'll find an explanation on what would be the correct use for that usb port in your mixer.
I'm sure you can use any screw. I'm not sure what thread size it is, but it would be easy to go to your local hardware store and find the right bolt for it.
The main audio will come from your mixer. The idea is that the audio file is sent from your laptop via the A6 into your mixer, the time code records tell the laptop where in the track the song is to be played. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Thanks.
Paul Hernandez thanks for your reply, the bit that confuses me is that I can see all of your rca's,from the decks and into the mixer but I can't see where the actual out put is from the computer and where you're plugging that sound source into ? if I use traktor say without decks I'd have to tell it what soundcard I'm using and then I'll go out of that sound card into the speakers ,I think I must be missing the point somehow man ? Thanks
The connection between the computer and the A6 is via a USB cable. The Traktor software sends a digital signal to the A6 and convert it to an analogue signal then send it to the mixer. I haven't tried this without using decks however you sound like you're on the right track i.e tell the computer what sound card you're using then use the outputs of the sound card to plug into your speakers.
Hi Paul. Did you tried to connect Traktors S2 controller main output into main input of Audio Scratch 6 and then send the main output to the analog mixer ? Does that think improve the sound quality of sound S2 controller ?
I don't have another controller to check. From my experience I don't think the sound quality would improve if you patch everything into another anologue mixer. You're adding another element in the signal path, which can cause a drop in quality.
How do you configure Traktor so you can have one control vinyl and one scratch record (real vinyl record) and still be able to transition between songs on the left and right channel? Would i need to assign a deck C for the scratch vinyl? Would I need to share decks to the same output channel?
I've never used deck C or D before. Each deck can be assigned to play either the time code of traditional vinyl with the ability to mix seamlessly between tracks. You can do this by clicking on either the "A" or the "B" icon, which will show a dropdown menu giving you the choice of "Direct thru" for vinyl, or "Enable Deck" for time code. Hope this helps." Good evening, I bought a Traktor Scratch Duo 2 is original, I can not upgrade to a more current version. I did the procedure in the Service Center according to some videos and the Traktor Scratch Duo version has not yet changed. The equipment I use is the following: 1 pair of MKII 1 Denon Mixer 1 Traktor Scratch Duo 2 Macbook Pro The Traktor Scratch Duo version is working normally, but I'd like to use a more current version because of the features that have been added. What guidance would you give? Thank you.
Red Teddy All of the above work well and are great tools that are already in the software. I rely heavily on the cues inside Traktor. I don't use the effects much or at all really, and all my eq is done via outside of the Traktor (physical mixer).
I'm 99% sure you can power the A6 with only USB. The benefit of using a power supply is that I can play tradition records without the need to power the A6 with my laptop.
Sorry for asking an unclear question I'll try again. In my last version of final scratch 1.1 if I wanted to mix in the standard vinyl tune with the one currently played via Time code Vinyl I had to switch on Line button to Phono option and the standard record would be heard. The old final scratch had a set of leads coming out of the final scratch and returning back again. With the A6 scratch amp the set up is different. So is there a setting on the software that enables to play ,lets say one song using the final scratch vinyl and another using standard type Vinson record with music on?? I hope it's clear this time P.s. Many thanks for getting back to me.
+Maciej Szymczak Yes there is a way to play time code on one and vinyl on the other. I've copied and pasted the below from a previous response. "!I can't find any videos online so I'll try to explain. In the Traktor interface, click on the "A" that is for deck A or "B" for deck B.. You will need the A6 sound card first, as this is the interface between the Traktor software and the mixer/decks. The X1is simply a controller of the software.

Thank you for this Video. A quick note to all : The out from A6 will go to Line (Not phono) in all the mixers.
Thaks, for the video, a question, for what use the MAIN channels os controller??
Lovely and clear, thank you!

+Maciej Szymczak I'm not sure what you mean by 'transformed on'?
+Maciej Szymczak: Is not an Amp. The Audi Kontrol 6 is just a "soundcard". A powerful one too!
still work with windows 10 ?
You will need to check the specs on the Native Instruments website :)
is there a possibilty to setup fx send to external mixer? im interested in post fader effect...
