Oregon firefighters enhance wildfire fighting skills at specialized training event

With wildfire season approaching, 160 firefighters who battle those blazes sharpened their skills at a designated training area in Molalla on Friday. For the 13th Annual Metro Advanced Wildland School, the firefighters are learning radio communication with helicopter crews, water drops and creating fire lines.
Since structural firefighters don't face the same challenges as those in nature, they are learning wildland firefighting techniques over the course of three days.
