Veneto Trail 2021 - Gravelbike Bikepacking Dolomites | We Are Cyclists

The Veneto Trail is a bikepacking event in Veneto | Italy. The Veneto Trail starts in the flat Cittadella and then tackles the Bellunese Alps to the Dolomites in Cortina D'Ampezzo. Originally advertised as an MTB bikepacking event, Sandra and a friend took on the Veneto Trail 2021 on gravel bikes.
450 kilometers and over 10,000 meters of altitude had to be done.
In the video you can find out whether the Gravelbike transmission with all the bikepacking bags on the bike on the steep gravel climbs in the Dolomites was enough. Das Wetter war ja super, Spaß habt ihr auch gehabt und das beste daraus gemacht. Die Strecke mit dem Gravel bike! Das wäre und ist nicht mein Ding. Gravel bike ist cool, habe selber eins, aber was nützt der ausgestellte Lenker, wenn ich beim steil bergab fahren, in Unterlenkerposition , weil mehr Kontrolle, einen Satz über den Lenker mache? Oder bergauf die Übersetzung fehlt? Oder auf trails der schmalle Lenker keine Kontrolle erlaubt? Auf solchen Strecken keine Unterlenker Position fahre? Die schmalen Reifen, auf MTB Strecken, keinen Komfort bieten? Dafür ist das Gravel bike nicht erfunden worden. Aber ein Versuch ist es immer wert, sonst wäre es ja langweilig. Viel Spaß bei euren Touren.

Wir hätten die Strecke auch gern mit nem MTB befahren. Aber man nimmt, was man hat. Und wir hatten viel Spaß mit unseren Gravelbikes 😊

Man macht einen Satz über den Lenker bei falscher Bremstechnik und falscher Gewichtsverlagerung. So alles bis S1 ist locker bis völlig ok mit dem Gravel machbar, schmaler Lenker bedeutet nicht Kontrollverlust. Man muss halt die Technik draufhaben.

If I would have the choice I probably would chose a hardtail for the Veneto Trail :) or a gravel bike with wider tires than 40mm and with a mullet groupset
