@@austinboylan5476 I agree, I think this is more of that thing you do when you write letters to dead people. @@austinboylan5476 I'll give you that on your first point that you made. Your second point though I'm not entirely sure about. She did ended up getting angry at him for the way he left them and the way he came back as if he had no shame for his actions. So at that moment I don't blame Pike for getting upset. However at this moment it was more missing out a close friend then being upset towards him. Update: I'm sorry I misread @Austin Boylan. I wouldn't see why Pike would be angry at herself. Since there wasn't much that she could have done about it.

Ashley truly has some of the best RP moments in all of Critical Role. I just love that most of the time she is quiet and even though most of the time is missing from the group she can come in and have amazing moments like this that are both funny and endearing at the same time. You can tell the other members of the group know how amazing she is at it too because they all are so focused and intently listening whenever it's her really getting into an RP.
This is so sad and so funny at the same time! The first *Scanlan?* just breaks your heart and then she starts talking and you remember that Pike is super drunk and everyones reactions and Travis is just the cherry on top of the sad, hilarious sundae.

I did these backwards... I started with campaign 2, and came back to Vox Machina while waiting on campaign 3. I didn't appreciate Ashley's "Yasha" until I saw her work as "Pike". I absolutely adore AJ
Yasha was a cool character, but Ashley's long absences had a big impact on her getting into the character, which was a shame. At least with Pike, she had the home game before Critical Role, and the Saranrae, astral-projection thing was an easy way to weave her in and out of the story through Skype. Campaign 3, I think she's absolutely killing it with Fearne
Imagine putting this over an old voicemail machine...? Scanlon tuning his lute or reading or (God help us) getting intimate with someone else? It's just his eyes that are animated... God it's so good in my head.
Gosh, the personal offended look on Tals face and how Liam has in instant melt down..... Pike sure as hell twisted the knife there effortlessly, I hope Sam feels at least half as bad as I
I kinda love how this is a jab at Percy, he unintentionally let Scanlan leave with an earring and now his mistake comes to bite him the behind, but its all behind the curtain. If he had taken the earring he wouldn't have looked half as bad as a person, its technically his, and an item of VM as a group for coordination.
I gave up trying to catch up with season one around episode 15. I'm nearly done with episode 26 of season 2, so can someone just spoil what's going on in this scene? Is this after one of Scanlan's deaths?
omegagilgamesh Scanlan left the group at this point because he felt that he wasn’t truly part of the group. Sam was playing a different character during this
Basically, Scanlan died in a fight, breaking a promise he had made to his daughter. In order to bring him back, the group brought his daughter to his resurrection. After he woke up, he felt betrayed and this was piled on top of a lot of building resentment he'd had for the group because he didn't feel as connected as the rest of them did, so he decided to leave. Everyone was crushed and it sent them into a crisis of personality and wondering whether their "family" really worked at all. Scanlan left just as Pike realized she might reciprocate his romantic feelings towards her, but he left on such a sour note that she never got up the nerve to tell him, though she did look for him while he was gone, never quite finding him as he had traveled to a separate continent entirely. At this point in the campaign, Scanlan has been gone for months and the group is managing to hold together, but they really feel his absence. After Pike has been separated from them for a while, she comes back to join them on their adventures and in getting absolutely PLASTERED and reminiscing with Grog, she admits that sometimes she puts her earring in (a magic device that they all have so they can communicate with each other within a short distance) and talks about what she does each day as if to Scanlan, knowing neither he nor any of the rest of the party can hear her as they're off on adventures far away. I suggest you look up the clip "Late Night with Pike and Grog" to see a better part of the conversation. Ashley basically made a point to Sam how upset she was at the first opportunity she could and how Scanlan's leaving affected Pike, since she wasn't there for the session where Scanlan left and couldn't respond to what he said at the time.
