Wristlets are really worth the weight, makes so much of a difference sealing the heat in and the cold out. One of the best issued clothing was the JHW still use one for every winter. one of the most warm bits of kit for nothing and weights little. Looked like a good day put in the fresh air

Thanks Mike. yer, I had some issued wristlets once, but they had to be handed back in. That jumper was bought new from the manufacturer or some company making them. The only difference that is a legal thing is the label. I just googled british army jumper new,

The jacket is by revolution race. It's well built, but it's not gortex, but it's OK. I've waterproofed it with fabsil as well. I've also done a waterproof video on it and a review on it. It has a recco responder built in as well.
The trousers are by fjallraven. It's a swedish company and is a big favourite in the UK with hikers and bushcrafters. They can be worn in a wide range of temperatures due to the vents, cleverly constructed with movement in mind and the british SAS guy, Jason fox from the program, sas, who dares wins wear the same one's in black.
Both are worth looking into. Hope this helps Mike 👍

Great to see you up there Andy and with the Spikes on mate. Wet snow or not it can still send you on your ass and you can get hurt. Ah, I'm like you a kid when the white stuff comes out. I wanted to get up there - could see the dump from Hereford but I wanted to go easy on my ankle. Maan, it used to stay up there until May back in the day - not now. What you got was a load of deep puddles with some snow up to your knees. Still a good hike. Well, good going. Mark

Yer, cheers Mark. I've never been there before, it's sort of right over the other side from me. I'll be going there again, maybe approach it from a different angle. Do that cats back? There's a car park nearby. I had to show the borders. It's something a bit different, I had to explore that. Luckily, there were them stones showing the way. Anyway, cheers Mark, and I hope you had a bit of a laugh at my toilet exploits at the start. It gave me the giggles every time. 💯🤟

@@Andy-walkaboutnutty A pleasure Andy - it was fantastic to see you up there - I love this area. It's gotta be a fave in the Wye basin. For sure the Cats Back is a good route. If you give it a bit of time perhaps I could join you. Ha, yeah 'snow paper' mate. Nice!

@WyeExplorer yer, we'll have to work something out and get together sometime. I work Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
I'm not sure yet, but it looks like Lisa could be back on the screen this year. She was the plant expert in breakaway, back in the day.
