  • I bought 16, 2 inch pvc couplings and 4, 3 inch couplings, 2 2x4s 16, 2 1/2 in deck screws and 20, 1in deck screws from Home Depot and our local Habitat for Humanity Restore all for less that $30 dollars to hold up and organize my yard tools on my wall.

Nice idea! I also like the ones that have an opening in the front so that for some tools, you can slide them in as opposed to having to stick them down into the holders from the top.

I wish you had shown how you screwed them into the board.

It looks like it is hanging on a screw. that's my guess for why the drilled hole was at an angle.
But you're right, seeing that part could have enlightened the video a bit more.

In hindsight, took up a whole wall. Maybe could have put most in a used golf caddy or a few into two larger pipes closer together.

looks good but it would be more sturdy to drill a big hole on oneside to make way for the drill

Flip that top 2 by over and you could pull the curve out of it bud. I’m a journeyman carpenter

Also cut shims off the end of your 2 by so you can use them as spacers instead of a screw! Come on now buds!

You should’ve bought the 2inch pipe and cut it. Probably would’ve majorly cut your costs. Couplings are expensive

      Exactly and drill straight through.

So what screw did you use on the couplings? Washers involved or no? You kind of gloss over that whole thing and show the finished part.

How high up is the top 2x4? I'm wondering if I have clearance in my garage with the ceiling, to fit the garden tools down inside the pvc holders?

Thanks so much for your video I was really stumped on how to get the screw in 2x4 straight, loved your way to make angle holes. Thought I'd have to jigsaw front of pipe, you saved me a lot of time, thank you. I have a question for you- I noticed you had a lot of bins in your garage, as I do too. Wondering how you ended up organizing them would love to do an overhead on the ceiling DYI? What was your solution? I hate the idea of them taking up good floor space but maybe there's a better way? Good job on your video, I love watching the non-professional non-paid regular people posting their great ideas :-)

I ended up just double stacking the bins against the wall. Had 20 of them total. Thought about overhead, but what I store in them I don't plan to keep.

@@JeramieCurtice Thanks for your quick reply, 14 of my 24 bins are things to sell or not hang onto, lol. Which too, why I didn't do overhead yet, but things like towstraps, jumper cables, camping stuff, extension ladder etc., not attic stuff per say. I'm really new at power tools & woodworking, but loving it. Want as much floor space as possible. My garage is drywalled like yours, much of internet DIY uses exposed trusses & 2x4, then shows a recessed build. Next project, I want to make a spray booth, gotten plenty dizzy off fumes ;) Hope you got your garage organized. It's a good feeling, had it several times but then tear it apart and start over!

Would look nice if you painted the wall first
