In this video I will guide you to ‘Taki’, one of the ideal places for week-end tour from Kolkata.
It will discuss about the ‘route to Taki’, time you need to reach there, where to stay as well as mode of transportation, i.e., how to go there.
Here you can enjoy a boat ride on ‘Ichamati River’ and enjoy the scenic beauties. You will also see the people and houses of Bangladesh on the other side of Ichamati.
Taki is famous for some old temples like ‘Kuleswari Temple’ and ‘Jora Shib Mandir’ which are 300 - 400 years old. There are a number of old and abandoned ‘Zamindar Bari’ also known as ‘Rajbari’ in Taki. We are going to see some of these Rajbaris, particularly ‘Puber Bari’ as it continues the age old tradition of ‘Durga Puja’. As you know, Taki is also famous for it’s ‘Durga Puja’ and ‘Bhashan (Visarjan)’.
It is a favourite film shooting spot for film directors. We will visit some of such shooting spots where films like ‘Bisorjon’, ‘Goynar Bakshow’, and some other films were shot.
Another attraction of Taki is ‘Golpatar Jungle’ which is also called as ‘Mini Sundarban’. You can enjoy a ‘canopy walk’ through trees. You can easily see Bangladesh on the other side of Ichamati river from this jungle as the river is very narrow here.
