I rarely comment on videos but I just had to come back to comment!
I watched this video a couple of weeks ago after playing shocking not breaking a 100 again with a 105.
This weekend just gone, I scored an 85!!!!
Your advice of setting up to the ball, thinking about hitting the ball like a football resonated with me and it helped me massively, especially off the tee with the driver!
I used to be scared to hit the driver as I always sliced it but now! love it!
    Big thanks to you James!

Bogey golf is about getting the ball on the green in +1 and 2 putting...not getting it close to the flag but on the green!!! Once you come to that realization bogey golf becomes easier. Breaking 80 is a refinement of chipping and putting and making 50% of your 6 feet putts from my perspective. .....James/Will I have enjoyed your videos!!!!

I'm a 25 handicap and looking to also break 90. I came close with a 92. But then couple of rounds later lot's of mistakes come into play and I get 102!! So frustrating but we keep trying. Keep up the good work, I'm loving the content.

Very relatable. after 10 years away i got on a course again after lockdown, got my first handicap of 29, and have only broken 100 twice, with 2 97's, and got cut a couple of days ago to 26.3. Looking at breaking 100 consistently, and will be looking at breaking 90 in the not too distant future. My aim is bogey golf atm, which should fulfil both goals at the same time.

I’m in my second season of golf. Much like Will. I shoot in the mid nineties. My best three rounds this summer are 92. I’m still trying to break 90. When my driver is working I have a legitimate chance. It’s my second or approach shots from 130 or more out that is my biggest struggle. I’m one bad stroke per hole from getting into the 80’s.

Really great to see some one helping Foxy, he keeps a great attitude when things are going right. As a high handicapper as well he said some thing very important , we us high handicappers have the trouble of the tee. I never know where the ball is going using my driver. To break 90 I use my 3 wood of the tee every time.

Good video! I'm a single-digit handicap and I'm STILL thinking mainly "Keep it in play" on the tee and "Get it somewhere on the green" when I'm chipping and pitching. Well...get it somewhere close if possible. But the point is what James says: minimize the mistakes that you can and don't get worked up about bad shots. That last part I'm still working on.

I’m a 19 from the white tees and a 14 from the senior tees. Last year I started out as a 26 from the whites and 22 from the senior (gold) tees. I’ve been hitting in the high 80s and aiming for the low 80s. Just got a new set of Callaway Mavrik Max irons. I shot a 46-39 the first time out with the new irons. I just need to keep the ball in the short grass and try not to kill the ball!

My goal is to beat my lowest ever handicap of 3.5 this season. I was back up at 5.5 after lockdown but I've lost 1.8 shots in my last 3 rounds after a run of 73, 68 and 75 and I'm currently back down to 3.8. The -3, 68 gross was my lowest under par round and the first time I've broken 70 which has always been a goal of mine.

Ended last season really striking the ball well. Started this season out as a 15.4 handicap with thoughts that this year could be the year to bring it down. Signed up to use the handicap within The Grint. First 5 rounds or so didn't really go so well. All of a sudden, started playing really well. Started putting in some really good scores. As of right now, I've worked my way down to a 13.1. I've set me goal for this year to bring it down 2 shots. But the season isn't over yet. Since I've got that goal, in stretching to bring it down another half shot. I think realistically I can bring it down to a 12.5. That's the new goal for 2020. Fingers crossed....

Great video! As a returning 'golfer' after 15yrs (previously off 8) I am surprised how difficult it is to strike the ball consistently and with reasonable distances. Let me say it's not like riding a bike! New Mizuno clubs and having needed to buy trolley, bag, clothing etc I'm wondering if I should have invested in a fishing rod 😬🤣. I play once a week. 20 Handicap and Consistency is my biggest problem. 86 was my low this season and 115 my high and everything in between. I have one course that is narrow and tree lined and I have 4 scores 100 and above there. Drives are all over the place this year and I've never been able to chip from 50 yards in. I don't tin cup it, I don't take risks, I am just soooo inconsistent.

Current goal to get more consistent and brake 80 more, have gone thru a horror 12 months, one week shot 75 next game shoot 90 but a few lesson and the last 4 games have beaten 80 every time,
Hardest part for me watching is my best clubs are driver and 3wood, it’s my approaching that kills my game and I had lots of wrist troubles as a kid so get tentative on most irons, but am getting better

@@adrianscott6005 It's just a game. Never let it get the best of you. We can't put the time in the pro's do, so our best bet is get a coach, practice as much as we can, even if it's just putting and slow motion practice in the house, and we'll get better far faster than trying to do it on our own. I played for 20 years never breaking 80 before I broke down and got that 1st lesson. I was a fool. Now I'm a 7 trying to get to 5 before the year ends.🏌️‍♀️

I'm about a 14 (at 62 years old) and for me breaking 90 is all about not having "blow up" holes. I can have a string of pars or bogeys - feeling great, then shank one in the woods or drop one in the water... So it's more about consistency for me.

I'm currently at 8.6 but my goal is to get down to 6. Finding it very tough at the moment. Consistency is the issue.

My problem is the opposite to Will's - i can get off the tee with booming drives, but iron game is inconsistent. Good video 👍

The hardest part for me to break 90 is hitting greens from 120 or less yards. I have trouble with accuracy on my short irons. I’ve been playing a 9 hole course recently that’s mostly par 3’s. It’s helping me get used to hitting greens, but I still struggle with left to right dispersion.

25-28 on a given day, dream of playing in the upper 80's. Gotta slow down somehow LOL.

Play off 21 with a best of 90. Regularly scoring in the 90’s but always seem to have a card killer or too many doubles etc. Or a great front nine followed by a dyer back. Think once I get into the 80’s I’ll be able to get in there quite often. I wonder whether tracking my points with strokes an after thought is the reason I’m taking too many risks on holes?

Great video!!! Lots of fun. I am a 19 handicap trying to get a handle on my fairway woods. 18 handicap was always my goal so if I can just improve a little more and hang on to it, I’ll be pretty happy.

Honestly, I am trying to break 100 right now. A few years back, I had a construction accident where I lost my dominant hand's index finger. I recently picked up golf again in COVID, and have found that I am not progressing as quickly as my playing partners. I have noticed the I tend to pull the club in on my follow through as a result of being afraid to hit the ground. Here in California, the ground is hard, and as a result of my accident, there are a lot of nerve endings in my "nub", and they make my hand hurt any time the club makes contact with the ground. I've been considering a few options and would love to hear your thoughts. 1) thicker grips, 2) a right hand glove with padding, or 3) irons that some how cut into the ground better.

19.2, just trying to get more consistent scoring, avoiding the blow up hole.

Officially a 29, but I don't play tournaments so my garmin says I'm hovering in the 19 area. But even with that I still never broke 90. My second to last round I shot 92 with a 9 on the par 4 first - two airshots on that hole before I finally took an unplayable lie from next to a tree... In Stableford scoring I actually score in the 20 gross range, but in stroke play I usually finish the round with one or two triple/quad bogeys that just destroy the stroke play score. For example my last round out I was +1 after 6 holes and then scored 10 on the 7th par 5...

HCap 7.. working on it all! Driver is hard to hit consistently well...have a low spinning low launch driver to keep it in play. After that short game short game short game! and putting too!

      @alanl902 4 ปีที่แล้ว

You might get more control with a more lofted driver. Recently switch from a 6 degree 50” long driver to a standard 9.5 degree 46” and have been much more consistent off the tee. Still hitting it between 290-330, don’t feel like I’ve lost much in distance.

If regularly breaking 100 already, would that not put him less that a 26hcp? Great video, very relatable.

Watch golf sideckick trying to break 100 or 90 on those little pitch or chip shots your number 1 priority is just to get it on the green you can always make a putt on the green 1 or 2 putt get off to the next
