Ok, so as far as the gearing in FFXIV that Ty brought up, the problem with stats is only a concern if you are not a raider. Most BiS are a mix of two different sets of the highest item lvl gear that you pick based on whichever stat you need. For example, the caster's all share the same casting gear, but for Pictomancer and Red mage they don't want any spell speed, Summoner will want just a little bit of spell speed to bump it's recast speed to 2.48s and Black Mage wants a lot of spell speed. The thing I think Ty was talking about (if I understood him correctly) is that some classes don't get the stats they want from either of the max item level gear sets, which I've never seen in the 3 tiers that I have been raiding for except with this newest tier where healer BiS uses the normal raid head and the crafted arms because they are the highest item level gear that has critical hit, everything else has piety which is pretty useless for healers. Which brings me to what I think is actually one of two problems with gearing in FFXIV is that everything is the same and there's very little deviation. 99% of the time you want to prioritize critical hit, then direct hit, then determination for max DPS. Because of this, most jobs that share the same gear type have the same BiS. Some jobs will want a little bit of skill/spell speed so that all of your GCDs align with your even minute buff window i.e. Black Mage or Samurai. You may also want skill/spell speed if you have high ping and can't double weave ogcd abilities. Then there are some stats that are pretty much useless like tenacity and piety. There isn't a lot of variation to your BiS builds so you wind up just going to the internet to find what some stat need tells you to get instead of trying to figure out what stats to prioritize for your own build. The other problem with gearing is the weekly reclears but that's for another discussion. Edit: I guess my point is that if you want the gear that prioritizes that stats you need, then you need to do the savage raids. If you don't do savage, then you probably don't care enough about min/maxing your stats. You can clear extremes just fine with basic crafted gear.
I cannot tell you why itd be better for it isnt devon. Elden ring literally has an item mocking how u have to contort your hand for certain button combos
