UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most prestigious exams in the country. It has three parts, the Prelims exam, the Main exam and the Personality test, which you need to clear in order to become an IAS or IPS officer. All other Group A services of the Government of India recruit people through the UPSC Civil services exam itself and because of this, there is a lot of competition in this exam. Hence, your UPSC preparation should be strategic, informed and well planned.
Your UPSC preparation should not be based on blind adherence to any program. Rather you should give a thought about how your are preparing. The best way to go forward is to study the blogs and tips given by previous year toppers about how to go about UPSC CSE for all three stages of UPSC Prelims, UPSC Mains and the Personality test also known as the UPSC Interview, and then make your UPSC preparation strategy accordingly.
Doing static subjects like polity, economy, environment, geography and history for your UPSC preparation is a solid bet to increase your chances of clearing this exam. But this must all be supplemented by current affairs for best effect.

Correction here... Certificate will of period btw 1 April 2024 to 11 Feb 2025(i.e last day of form filling)
Actually obc non creamy layer certificate is valid for 1 year, so I think Feb 15 2024 to Feb Feb 15 2025 is valid ryt. Can one apply for another form without the validity of already existing form ends?

I have called UPSC office. They told me that the certificate issued by the state authority is valid for UPSC. But in some video they said that central obc certificate is mandatory for UPSC. Could you explain the exact thing, UPSC has uploaded the OBC certificate format in the advertisement. Will it be filled at the time of registration or at the time of DV ?
State level certificate as well as central certificate both are issued by state govt only... But the point here is that we required certificate in centre's format

Sir, Is a digitally signed OBC-NCL certificate issued by the Office of Tehsildar in the format prescribed by the UPSC valid? Or is it necessary for me to get another one "Physically Stamped and Signed" by the Tehsildar? (My caste is in the central list. And the same is mentioned in the certificate as per the format prescribed in the UPSC website.)

Same Doubt.
I think both are valid as they can be issued via both online as well as offline.
Firstly issue it from higher level above Tehsildar...digitally is also valid...along with it take digitally signed certificate to that repective office and get countersigned on the performa (OBC Annexure) prescribed by UPSC.
Only digitally signed certificates are accepted nowadays... And obc-ncl is issued by sdo/sdm not by tehsildar
Sir i belong to EWS category but this year I couldn't fill it due to unavailability of ews certificate.
In case i am unable to get selection this year in UPSC,will i be able to fill ews in place of general category next year?
Or is this detail permanent and uneditable for the next year?

Sir once you only told that previous year certificate can be used for applying ,if you are not able to renew within the last date application .
Sir is it 15/02/2024 or 01/04/2024. Because my certificate is issued on 22/02/2024. They are not giving new certificate since it has not expired yet (they say expiry is for 1 year from the date of issue) . I will not be able get new certificate till 22/02/2025
No not like that it would expire in 31/3/24 itself . U can apply for new certificate on 1/4/24 itself

@@rakeshsriram6575 yeah. I have given application to cancel the previous certificate in AC office. After that I'll be applying for new certificate. Since it takes long time to complete this process. Request them or beg them whatever to get it done fast

Yes, the form will ask you whether you have taken NOC from your department for giving the exam.

My last year obc certificate was renewed om 19 feb. *2024* is it still applicable for this year?
That will not contain whether u r NCL for april 2023- march 2024. Hence u need certificate issued after 1 april 2024 and before 11 feb 2025

I had same issue. One solution to this is go to AC or DC office and request them to cancel previous certificate by writing a letter. Request them to do it fast. After cancellation you can apply for new one

For Andhra Pradesh OBC certificate has no expiry date. Once it's issued it valied life long. So even then I should again apply for new one ?

No...central obc certificate is valid for 1 year only. Bocz they have to check whether u belong to ncl or not....income changes every year

If you want to apply for reservation benefit, you will need to mention it in Prelims as well.

For OBC and EWS, in the recent years, they have started asking for certificate issued within a specific date range. You can check the notification for exact details when it comes out on 22nd Jan.
@@preranaps2788 OBC certificate is valid for one year only, I think you maybe confused between obc non creamy layer certificate and sc/st caste certificate( heard that this is valid for longer duration than obc one, but not sure about the years)
