Hello. Please help. My mazda cx9 2008 has a keyless. 2 cards that work once and fail. Then I have to put the metal key in the ignition. Then the engine always starts. If you manage to start the engine without the key, the "key" light flashes red on the board. Smart key opens and closes the car. The only problem is sometimes I turn the ignition switch and the second time I do not and I have to take the key, the tip. The buttons on the door handle also do not work. Sometimes I press the button multiple times and manage to open the door. I have the impression that the cards are not always seen by the keyless module. What could be the problem? Error forscan Code: B1600 - PATS ignition key transponder signal is not received. - Possible causes - - Defective ignition key - Defective PATS antenna or cables - Damage PCM module: Opening the door locks with the remote control (keys are not required)
I reconnected the snapped prongs using a soldering iron, if you don’t have a soldering iron you can attempt a less permanent solution of placing a small piece of tin foil on the break in the prong to complete the circuit (the hard part is getting the tin foil to stay in place and not touch the second prong)
@@hughhicks1295 (see 35 seconds into the video). I just used the small sharp knife that you can see in the video to slowly pry apart the edges of the case slowly working my way around starting from the right hand side of the case before folding the cover upwards
My shell was broken so i did a swop over but now my steering wheel is locked with red key/car flashing and i was qwoted 880 to replace help! My doors are opening and shutting but sheering wheel is locked
Both of mine give me grief even when pushong the button on the door handle, the quickest tip is lighly tap the fob on something it should work, but now ive watched this video im going to check them thanx
@@MichaelBCoker you can buy them from any locksmith, they need to order them in and then need your car for 15 mins while they program the key to your car.

I don’t claim to be a key specialist but your issue sounds like it could be a flat key battery. Try replacing that to start with.
I have the same problem on a Mazda CX9 2008, replacing the battery did not solve it for me. Have you found a solution to the problem?

I'm having the same problem with my 2020 cx 9 FOB. I won't work when pressing the door handle.
