Will be well worth it. Game and story in Sky and Crossbell are amazing and fulfilling and story in Cold Steel (I really did not like a lot of the changes in Cold Steel, but certain characters and the story overall were excellent).
I was watching Trash Taste and Garnt mentioned a 1h20m video about Trails and I immediatly said to myself "It's Luxin's isn't it?" and of course it was lmao

I feel the same way. I always try to support streamers who try out trails, and jump into any discussions I see, because I just love trails so damn much. Also, this is a great time to get into trails, with Zero and Azure getting their english releases this year and into next. I'm kinda jealous, because i had to buy from China, and do the whole Geofront patches thing to play them. Dont get me wrong, Geofront did an amazing job, but I'm hoping the offcial releases will just hit better, especially if they have english VAs, which I beleive they did but can't remember for sure.
I played the first game with the English patch on a emu. I tried the 2nd but it was just a loose google translate translation so I lost interest. Still I liked the Crossbell series and am eager to finally play the 2nd game.
Still amazed people think the Geofront did the translation. They didn't, what they did was to heavily edit an earlier translation. Go to their website if you don't believe me.
bonus fun fact: The 'Chest Messages' in Sky 1-3 and the Geofront Crossbell games are actually due to a weird programming error. In the Japanese version, when you check an empty chest, you just get a dialogue that says 'this chest is empty', but the code for the PSP version had a table with a unique entry for each chest to refer to, so somewhere in the game's code is just "This Chest is Empty" repeated 350-some-odd times in a row. When XSeed saw this, they just contacted Falcom and were like 'do you guys need us to like... keep these here?' and Falcom said 'nah do whatever you want', so they started writing dumb jokes in all of the different entries so each chest has its own unique little jab to make at you if you try to loot it a second time. until one of the final dungeons of Sky the 3rd, where one of the characters is undergoing a major moment. Every single chest in that dungeon just says 'The chest is empty.' when you check it, and it unironically sent a chill down my spine when I saw that. They managed to enhance the impact of the emotional moments of the game by adding in dumb gags everywhere *except* for this place, and the dungeon was legitimately more daunting to me because of it.
I just finished Sky the 3rd, and I super agree on that impact of the chest messages towards the end. No idea that was localization exclusive, that's so cool.
Theres another moment like this in Azure in the final dungeon. Each boss has its own themed mini puzzle before you can fight them, and one in particular pulls this exact same stunt. Only difference is it had the complete opposite effect and just made the area funnier.
I really appreciate the dedication in this video. Me and a couple of my friends have really been wanting to get into this series for a bit and this has helped out an incredible amount, so thanks for making this
Well I'm a hardcore fan so just swinging by to show some love. It's a commitment no doubt, folks, but it's absolutely worth it! The last time I was blown away by this level of world building/characters and true immersion/investment was the first time I read LoTR lol.

@@Dxwill10 Well it's definitely a slow burn but I really enjoyed the writing and dialogue from the start and enjoyed the music . At Krone now and fully hooked , such a charming game
One other reason to start with the Sky games is because so much of the cast and story is based around the Bracer Guild. The developers used comparisons to/contrasts with the Bracers as a sort of shorthand for explaining the functions of the main groups in Crossbell and Cold Steel, and if you don't have a firm foundation in what the Bracers do (and their limitations) you'll lose a lot of what they were trying to convey (to say nothing of the significance of what the Bracers themselves, both as individuals and as a group, get up to over the course of those games).
That's true on one side. You really see that Sara is training class 7 like full fledged bracers. On the other side I wouldn't say its that much complicated that you wouldn't understand it directly out of the other arcs. I had quite a good picture of what a bracer is after cold steel 1 and 2 and it didn't much change after having played FC and half of sc right now.
You'll see those distinctions pop up again in CS 3&4. But even in CS 1, remember the discussion Sara, Toval, and Micht were having during the school festival? That was a direct reference to something that happens in the Crossbell duology, with a particular Bracer. And without giving away too many spoilers, knowing the restrictions Bracers operate under--and what that Bracer did instead--is very important for understanding just why those three were so freaked out.
Just started my trails journey with trails in the sky last week truly enjoying the game! Love the characters and the story so far can’t wait to dive deeper into the plot great vid!!
My favorite game series of all time! Seriously I could gush about it for hours nothing even comes close to me. Sara Valestein is my favourite female game character of all time.
I agree, trails is my absolute favorite game franchise. Not to say other series aren't amazing, because they're are some really great games in the world, but Trails is my number 1. I can't say Sara is my absolute favorite, because we have so many great charecters that it's hard to pick just 1, but either way she is one of my absolute favorites for sure.
I just love the Trails series so much. It’s one of the few video game series where I loved every game. Even my least favorite in the series (Sky the 3rd) is an 8/10 in my mind.
I already got into Trails due to you and Enel's recommendations in the past (played all of both sky and cold steel arcs but not crossbell unfortunately). Still watched the whole video and thanks to that I learned about that whole NG+ thing which I was a bit confused about with Cold Steel 3. So, thanks, fun video and learned something.
It's 2023 now and I got to say this video has really helped me get through the Trails series in that order. Reverie is now released and so far I just finished Sky SC and soon will be playing Sky 3rd I can't wait to see more in this amazing series thank you Luxin this video has really helped a lot
I just finished up all achievements on Cold Steel 2 like an hour before this was uploaded. Between every game in the series I probably have over 1000 hours, it's the only jrpg series that I enjoy more than Xenoblade.
@@veghesther3204 Well sure, if you want to rush through it and barely scratch the surface that's possible. I have almost 200h in each of CS1&2 and only played through both games once.
Damn, GG, that's some dedication. I played them all over the course of 2-3 years, but I also had to wait inbetween releases for CS3 and CS4, and find patchs for crossbell arc. But still, each game took me like a month each, if not longer for the larger games! Also, I am also very excited for Reverie, and also excited to play non patched versions of the Crossbell arc.
I have all 4 of them on PS4 and the other 4 Reserved at at game stop in total that’s 8 we’re is the 9th is it legend of heroes kuro no kieseki For PS4 I see it’s the Japanese version but is it getting an American release?
Six months? I crave to have a life like yours? The older one grows the harder it gets to play games. Which is not true if you're retired cause that's the best thing for a gamer.
Wanted to hop back into this video to say: This is the video that got me to start playing Trails. I started my journey at the end of December 2022 with Sky FC after this video popped onto my youtube recs a little over 5 times before finally clicking on it. It is currently July 2024 and I am now roughly around halfway into Cold Steel IV. I'm so glad to have started this series and I can't WAIT to finally be officially caught up to the localized games. And of course, I still make sure to talk to every NPC after every major story beat to really feel attachment to the world of Zemuria.
great video. Outdated from where i watched in 2024 but still insightful of where the community was in 2021. I am new to the series and this has helped me figure out where i might want to go and some tips
I've only played Cold Steel I, II & III. Starting IV soon. These are some of my favourite games ever. II might indeed be the game I've logged in the most time. There's just so much to do. Really cool video you have here. Got a feeling I'll be coming back to it quite a bit.
Its so cool that NISAmerica actually hired the Geofront (the people who made the best fan translation for the crossbell arc). They easily could have done a C&D order, but instead they decided to hire them. Its exciting because the geofront patches were already amazing, but now with them working with NISAmerica, the official releases should be even better. It kinda shows that NISAmerica actually cares about the series they are translating.
This video single-handedly made me dive into the series 2 months ago. I’m here after beating Azure and sheesh this series changed my life. Peak fiction IMO. Looking forward to CS all the way to Kuro no Kiseki ❤️
I kept on saying maybe later, because of how long it is. But, after finally getting around to it 1 month ago, I’ve finished up sora no kiseki 1&2. Honestly, being fluent in Japanese I can’t believe this game flew under my radar for so long. I’m so stoked because I should be able to catch up to Kuro no Kiseki 2 by the time it releases in Japan. Also, if anyone is getting into this series, I highly, highly suggest EVO version. VA made my experience so far 1000x better. This series is so awesome!
I'm so happy that I was able to play trails of cold steel III on Google Stadia. After 30 hours I knew I needed to start with trails I. Right now I'm still finishing Part III but also looking forward to zero and maybe I gonna play sky before playing trails IV I never would have thought I could fell in love with a JRPG series that hard.
Near the end of Sky FC, taking my sweet sweet sweet time. So excited that I found this series and surprised I never heard of it until recently. So damn good, going to be real sad when I'm caught up.
LETS GO TRAILS HAS BEEN EVERYWHERE!! IM SO HAPPY XENO FANS R PLAYIN THIS. I recently coming been playin the series too, on the third game rn of cold steel. So good.
Thank you for the video; it really provides some excellent advice! I recently started playing Cold Steel on a lark during a camping trip and got sucked in. However, once I looked up the series I was a little worried I had ruined the experience. For now, I think I'll continue to play CS I & II and then double back to start the Sky arc. Here's to hoping there is a Falcom bundle during the next Steam sale!
Hey man ! I was curious to start these games for a while, and I saw this video in 2021. After watching it, I was sure I was going to play then. Fast-forward to now, I played the entire series (the localized ones at least), and it became my favorite franchise in gaming. So... thanks a bunch !
As someone who got into the series a year ago using this video and just finishing Reverie, thank you for this amazing introductory video for Trails, Luxin! Excited for the future of the series and to get into the Calvardian games!
As a huge trails fans who's played all 9 so far, you did a really great job on this video. I always love seeing this series get some love, and I hope this video brings this very awesome series to some new people. I still love many other franchises, such as Xeno, FF, KH, NieR, Persona, FE, GTA, RDR, and many others which happen to.be mostly JRPG, but Trails is my absolute favorite of them all. That neing said i don't expect it to be everyone elses favorite, or for people to even like it, I just suggest people give it a try.
Remember when the series was about a girl looking for her father to looking for her adopted brother Now it’s about fighting the government and secret organization
I mean Sky was technically about a girl finding her father and later her brother, but it was also at the same time about stopping a coup and fighting a secret organization responsible for the coup.
Seems Luxin is ahead of the curve. Trails seems to be getting a lot of love in 2022! Although, I don't care when someone got into the series, welcome to the fandom new and old, one and all! I wasn't super early to the series myself, but I picked up coldsteel 1 on PS4 shortly after release in 2019. I got super lucky, someone canceled their collectors edition at gamestop, and I almost didn't buy it because I generally don't do collectors editions, but i said screw it, why not. Now trails is my new exception when it comes to collectors editions and merch. I loved it so much, I pre ordered CS2 collectors editions, and then went on to play the sky trilogy, while waiting for CS3. I then played crossbell thanks to the geofront, and finally played CS4 on release.
Also. When playing the trails in the sky games, turn off interpolation (choose the "point" option in the settings) It makes the game look really good, even nowadays. With a few added shaders the game could literally have been released this year and not look out of place. (it's pretty sad that the ui isn't static so you can't really use reshade for anything except screenshots)
In comparison I have to say. Point is the worst texture filtering. Bilinear has about the same sharpness but not the texture noise while moving. The third Option makes the edges really soft which might not fit someones Taste but definitely both are better than point texture filtering....
As a long Kiseki/Trails fan, I can suscribe to pretty much every word said on this video. Playing order, opinion on the different games, Olivier actually being the main character, Xenosaga III being amazing, etc. I happened to play this franchise in the recommended order, with the one big difference being that I played almost every game back when it was recently released in english. Started with Sky FC on PSP, waited I-don't-know-how-many-years for SC (worst wait ever), then 3rd when it was released on Steam, then played Cold Steel 1 and 2 on PS3 as they came out, and then we had this coincidence of Zero Geofront patch and Cold Steel 3 releasing pretty much at the same time. Just from playing Cold Steel 2 I kinda knew the other 2 were important going forward, so I went for Zero from Geofront, then played Azure with the english patch that was available at the time (which was honestly quite decent) and then went with Cold Steel 3 immediately after Azure, and finally Cold Steel 4 when it released. And yeah, the order is pretty damn good. But admittedly Cold Steel 1 and 2 and the Crossbell saga is pretty interchangeable. You'd almost want to play those pairs at the same time. I can't recommend this franchise enough to JRPG fans. It's a tough thing to recommend since it's so big, but because it's that big, it's really a unique experience you won't find anywhere else (the only thing I can think of that can match it in scale is FFXIV with all its expansions).
Love that you did a video on this Luxin. Being a huge Trails fan, it's honestly been making me so happy that you've been getting into this game series and it's neat to hear your opinions on the series in this video. Though I am very confused by Angelica being blurred out lol. I take it you REALLY didn't like her.
I'd love it if she was censored in the actual games. I typically read everything in JRPGs, and even go back and talk to everyone every single time they say something new. With Angelica, I skip tons of her dialogue completely.
If I remember correctly, The Legend of Nayuta is actually a spin-off and isn't a part of the main series despite sharing the same universe. Also, Nayuta has a fan-translation, which is available on CDRomance.
I didn't know that you were into Trails. Glad to see there are more fans of the series. I already downloaded Kuro on my Japanese PSN so I'm hyped for that.
Great guide, I remember how it was all confusing before . I was lucky enough to take the one true order route , just got done with Azure and about to begin CS next.
Just watched this video. Was very well done. My play order was CS1, CS2, CS3, Zero, CS4, Azure. I did watch playthrus of Sky1-3 and Crossbell before playing CS3. I have the Sky trilogy but havent motivated myself to play it. I'll see if this video changed that for me. Keep up the good work!
I stumbled on cold steel 1 a couple years back and was incredibly in love with it. I haven't finished it yet cause my pc died on me halfway through. I had no idea it was a bigger series, absolutely gonna play more of this especially since I'm getting a new PC soon
The Sky games will play on a 10 year old laptop. Unless you have a Chromebook, you can play those now. It really is the best place to start. Cold Steel stands up well enough on it's own, but the end of the Cold Steel arc (3+4) is like Infinity War and Endgame, respectively.
And if you still want to finish CS1 first because you already started it, buy CS2 before you've actually finished it, because the first ends on a cliffhanger and you might want to jump into the second one right away to finish the complete story arc.
@@skyknight0408 impeccable timing! PC ended up taking longer than expected but I'm actually on chapter 3 of CS1 currently so I'm def gonna pick up CS2 now
@@NosferatuMonty776 You're welcome. I ran into this issue last year. Started CS1 in August and finished it roughly 3 months later. I thought it would take longer so I didn't pick up CS2 in the sale a few weeks earlier and had to wait for another week after I finished for the next months money to come in. That's when I learned CS1&2 were originally planned as one game but got cut in half because it was too long. But no need to hurry. You still have 3 more chapters and the epilogue to go and each one is gonna be longer than the previous.
I finished trails in the sky first chapter a couple of months ago, and when I heard that people call it a prologue to SC, I was really excited, because I already really liked FC. I do own SC, but I’m currently busy, so I’ll be delaying playing it until I sort myself out. I will be playing through the whole series and FC’s ending got me really hyped for what’s to come
You put a lot of effort making sure the gameplay you are showing corresponds to what you are saying rather than just making sure it was the same game. Props for that.
Me who already played all Trails game up to Kuro : "Hmmm...Interesting Video." seriously though, if you fan of jrpg, you don't wanna miss this journey. This series is one hell of roller coaster ride.
Thank you for reminding me of this series. Years ago while waiting for Xseed to finish the translation of Trails SC, i had some life changing events happen and completely forgot about the game. i've been needing something to play between releases of Genshin Impact and to hold me over until Xenoblade 3, so this fits the bill.
i started playing at the beginning of this year and finished zero a week before azure came out. i'm now halfway done with azure. besides sky 3rd, this series has been great so far.
This video is awesome! I recently just got into trails and I'm on sky the 3rd and this shit is HYPEE can't wait to play crossbell arc and cold steel arc bring on the hype train CHOO CHOO!!
I started Trails in the Sky earlier in the year and was enjoying it, but stopped and its a daunting thing to go back to. Still look forward to eventually getting back to it.
I played the first Trails of Cold Steel as my first legend of heroes game and, wow. What an amazing experience. I never expected to be so intrigued by the story, and the position based combat was so addictive that I found myself grinding just for fun. I think I was just under 100 hours when I wrapped up the story. Still haven’t played any others in the series but I definitely will be!
I should really respect your effort on this over one hour long detailed guide with decent explanation. Good job. I like this series too especially the enormous worldview.
Great video! Informative and enjoyable to listen through. I’m completely content waiting for official localizations/releases to play through this series. I want Falcom to get all of my money and to see as much support for future western releases as possible. This will help us hopefully reach a point in the future where maybe they do progress to worldwide release dates. My only hope for everyone who isn’t willing to wait and instead buys the Japanese versions and uses unofficial translations is that they actually still support the official western releases and buy them full price. I do wonder how much that might negatively affect sales over here - not saying it will, but I believe it’s a valid concern. At some point there’s a difference between a company being unwilling to release/localize a game and a company who is and will, but just not on peoples own time preferences. Just my thoughts.
I definitely agree with your recommended play list. I originally played CS 1+2, realizing late that I should've started with Sky. I don't like playing games on PC because I'm illiterate for modding and setting up beyond a mouse. I finished Sky FC earlier this year and will be beating SC by the end of this year. I'll play Sky 3rd the first half of next year, then Zero when it comes out later in 2022. Then Azure early 2023 hopefully. I already have CS 3 + 4 which I can then attempt to beat before Reverie, but the games are so massive I am content with 2/year. I don't recommend trying to rush them all. The games will be there and we are going to be behind the Japanese release for a while. Plus if you're playing other games in between, you'll have time for that and hopefully avoid burnout.
Played in order; glad I did. Binged it during the pandemic after i binged the yakuza franchise. Also helps that the same ppl who did the fan translation for zero/azure were hired on for the official, so I don't feel like I'm missing out there
I came to the Legend of Heroes games by way of Xenosaga. I googled "what JRPG series to play after Xenosaga" and several posts in every thread (once I scrolled down a bit) there was someone saying "no no, go play the Legends of Heroes series and thank me later". So I did and I went back and thanked as many of those people as I could find along the way.
I started playing Cold Steel when it released on Vita. But I recently got the game for PS4 and was really surprised my save was there for me to import. So I got CS2. After watching this amazing video I bought Sky and SC so I can dive into the series. Great work on the explanation and helping us new to the series to find a proper way to enjoy them. Thank you.
I started this series on a whim after a friend of mine sent me all of the Sky arc on Steam, and had literally no expectations going in. I actually had to restart FC 3 times before I made any significant progress since I kept getting distracted from the game. Once I finished it though... Hoo boy. If you know, you know. Needless to say, I was hooked. I had fallen in love with this world and these characters and I genuinely didn't know how it could get better. I binged through SC from beginning to end over the course of my Christmas break and it became my new favorite game of all time, dethroning Final Fantasy VII in the process. All this to say, game's good. Also, play with the Evo voice mods for the Sky trilogy, trust me, it makes it even better.
I have completed all games up until Hajimari but still i will watch this video because more trails content to feed this Kiseki brainrot Difficulty is honestly only in name in cold steel games in my opinion. You can play like a normal human being and apply normal strategies to clear fights or you can be a crazed maniac and go all out and phase skip and one shot the final boss ofthe game provided you know what you are doing Also one more thing for GOD AND HEAVENS SAKE DONT LOOK ANYTHING UP PLEASE JUST TRY TO GET INFO FROM THE GAME AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE OR ASK SOME ONE WHO HAS ALREADY PLAYED THE GAME TO CLEAR ANY CONFUSIONS
By the Time This Video was Uploaded, I already Dubbed The WHOLE Cold Steel Series from 1 to 4, Start to Finish, At this Point, I'm waiting for Trails into Reverie to Come to America so I can see what this Segment is about
I agree with your orders. I would also recommend starting with the liberl arc, then crossbell arc, then eribonia arc. But I will say another possibility is cold steel 1 and 2, then liberl arc, then crossbell arc, then the rest of eribonia arc. That is definitely another possible way to start the series, and how I myself did it, because i didnt know about the older games when i stumbled upon an abandoned collectors edition at gamestop while looking for something to scratch my JRPG itch back in 2019. I definitely agree that the crossbell arc is a bad place to start.
Yeah I love Xenoblade, and I started Trails series like 3 years ago, I just beat Trails into Reverie and started Trails through Daybreak. And I have to say, YES. I LOVE TRAILS SERIES just like I love Xenoblade series. It's been a phenomenal journey playing both Xenoblade and Trails series, I'm so happy I got into these two series.
I'm started leaning Japanese recently. By the time the entire series is out on Steam I think I'll be able to play them all in Japanese. I'm so excited! I love historical medieval fantasy and also steampunk, and it feels like this series combines both elements. I'll probably start on the earlier games too when my Japanese reaches a decent standard. (I'm pretty confident of it since it's not the first language I brought up to the level required to play video games and read books, and I'm also already very familiar with Chinese characters)
The orbment/quartz system is so great. I do prefer the earlier versions before cold steel where you had to add elements to make arts, but the later system is still a good system.
For everyone that complains about the length of the games. Please just use turbo button for almost everything. Cuts half the time from 100 to 50 or more while the ingame timer still says 100 or so. And not every NPC dialogue is required if you dont want to.

bonus fun fact: The 'Chest Messages' in Sky 1-3 and the Geofront Crossbell games are actually due to a weird programming error.
Trails in the sky is what got me into the franchise
Trails in the Sky is a masterpiece
I really appreciate the dedication in this video. Me and a couple of my friends have really been wanting to get into this series for a bit and this has helped out an incredible amount, so thanks for making this
so happy to have new fans join in the fandom! welcome :)
I can only hope that you enjoy these games as much as I do. Hopefully, we can welcome you to the fandom.
It's 2023 and all these games are available in English, on steam.
What a time to be alive.
Getting started on Sky FC.
Shout out Trash Taste for my next gaming obsession lmao
Nice dp mate
I envy you. Wish I could go through the series again with a clean slate.
I just finished Cold Steel 1 on Saturday and started Cold steel 2 on the same day, I gotta say these are some of the best JRPG'S I've ever played.
Well I'm a hardcore fan so just swinging by to show some love. It's a commitment no doubt, folks, but it's absolutely worth it! The last time I was blown away by this level of world building/characters and true immersion/investment was the first time I read LoTR lol.
Wow that's some crazy praise. I am just finished the prologue from trails in the sky FC . Really liking it so far . Super excited to see where it all goes
@@SurferKroky That's incredible to hear. Namely because, I gave up after 6 hours LOL. It wasn't until I finished Trails of Cold Steel that I went back and gave it another go and my god, I'm so glad I did. Stick with it if you can! If you can't and move on to try another entry, well, I can't exactly judge you haha
@@Dxwill10 Well it's definitely a slow burn but I really enjoyed the writing and dialogue from the start and enjoyed the music . At Krone now and fully hooked , such a charming game
Just discovered this series seems criminally underrated
@@Koyasama And Crossbell's major events are retold from the Empire's pov in the Imperial Chronicles.
im here because grant said there is a trails introduction video that is 1hour and 27 minutes long
Just started my trails journey with trails in the sky last week truly enjoying the game! Love the characters and the story so far can’t wait to dive deeper into the plot great vid!!
How was it?
It was really good! I’m playing trails in the sky the 3rd rn I’m loving every minute
Just finished the Sky series and ready for Zero next, really glad it's available for Switch now. Steam Deck was a savior for the Sky series.
Stumbled across Trails after playing a bunch of Ys (play Ys 8, do it) and the end of Sky 1 had my jaw on the floor
Unpopular opinion, Ys is the better series. And Cold Steel as a whole is bloated, no matter how you look at it.
@@Javifaa Welp that’s one hell of an unpopular opinion
Well an opinion is an opinion.
A fan of Ys 8 is a friend of mine.
@@Cman04092 dude says Sara but using Toval pic as profile 😂😭
I'll have to claim Laura or Altina personally but Sara IS cool.
I just love the Trails series so much. It’s one of the few video game series where I loved every game. Even my least favorite in the series (Sky the 3rd) is an 8/10 in my mind.
Sky 3 was actually my favorite trails game for some reason.
What an excellent series! I really appreciated that fans even made English versions of the Trails to Zero and Trails to Azure games a few years ago.
i've been waiting for this video. i've recently played all of the sky games and absolutely loved them so i'm always in for more people playing them
I already got into Trails due to you and Enel's recommendations in the past (played all of both sky and cold steel arcs but not crossbell unfortunately). Still watched the whole video and thanks to that I learned about that whole NG+ thing which I was a bit confused about with Cold Steel 3.
So, thanks, fun video and learned something.
Building a bridge between Xeno and Trails fan is the greatest thing I've seen lately. Such a chad fanbase.
Bro hearing the Whereabouts of light still makes me cry to this day.
I beat nearly every game from CS1 to Kuro in less then 1000 HOURS COMBINED EACH game barely took me even 30 HOURS each.
@@veghesther3204 Well sure, if you want to rush through it and barely scratch the surface that's possible. I have almost 200h in each of CS1&2 and only played through both games once.
I’m so excited for Reverie !! I’ve played all 9 of these games in like 6 months
Six months? Sir you are the most powerful devotee of Falcom, my hat is off to you
Six months? I crave to have a life like yours? The older one grows the harder it gets to play games. Which is not true if you're retired cause that's the best thing for a gamer.
My first was Cold Steel 1, I definitely get confused but I don’t care cuz Rean Schwarzers “Ogre Power” was a big reason I loved it.
So this is the 1 hour version that Garnt mentioned hahaha alright let me in this rabbit hole!
great video. Outdated from where i watched in 2024 but still insightful of where the community was in 2021. I am new to the series and this has helped me figure out where i might want to go and some tips
Who's here after Garnt mentioned the Trails series in Trash Taste??
I've only played Cold Steel I, II & III. Starting IV soon. These are some of my favourite games ever. II might indeed be the game I've logged in the most time. There's just so much to do. Really cool video you have here. Got a feeling I'll be coming back to it quite a bit.
This video was awesome! I just finished Cold Steel and starting the 2nd one. This was very informative!
After their Ys screw up, they better
This video single-handedly made me dive into the series 2 months ago. I’m here after beating Azure and sheesh this series changed my life. Peak fiction IMO. Looking forward to CS all the way to Kuro no Kiseki ❤️
Seeing how so many people recommending it for Xeno fans got me tempting to get into it
I kept on saying maybe later, because of how long it is.
Right now I'm still finishing Part III but also looking forward to zero and maybe I gonna play sky before playing trails IV
I never would have thought I could fell in love with a JRPG series that hard.
Dude... I'm right there with you! I'm not even a JRPG guy! Just finished Cold Steel 1 and I WANT MORE LOL
@@BlackHazama exactly. I already played the sky series since I posted my last comment. It's soooooo great!
Near the end of Sky FC, taking my sweet sweet sweet time. So excited that I found this series and surprised I never heard of it until recently. So damn good, going to be real sad when I'm caught up.
Funny how I literally started the series a while ago and just finished Sky SC today, and now suddenly everyone is recommending to start this series ^^
LETS GO TRAILS HAS BEEN EVERYWHERE!! IM SO HAPPY XENO FANS R PLAYIN THIS. I recently coming been playin the series too, on the third game rn of cold steel. So good.
I just had to say, the part where you showed off Estelle in CS4 made me laugh SO much! I loved that giant comment so much I just needed to post this.🤣
thanks for this video man i started playing sky a few weeks ago and im on second chapter right now i didnt know there were this many games.
I think you already know that, but there is a section at the end of CS II that pretty much assumes you already have played Azure.
Was it worth it?
As a huge trails fans who's played all 9 so far, you did a really great job on this video. I always love seeing this series get some love, and I hope this video brings this very awesome series to some new people. I still love many other franchises, such as Xeno, FF, KH, NieR, Persona, FE, GTA, RDR, and many others which happen to.be mostly JRPG, but Trails is my absolute favorite of them all. That neing said i don't expect it to be everyone elses favorite, or for people to even like it, I just suggest people give it a try.
Remember when the series was about a girl looking for her father to looking for her adopted brother
Now it’s about fighting the government and secret organization
It's a tough thing to recommend since it's so big, but because it's that big, it's really a unique experience you won't find anywhere else (the only thing I can think of that can match it in scale is FFXIV with all its expansions).
>me already catch’d on the series
>makes pop corn to enjoy this 1h trip
Love that you did a video on this Luxin. Being a huge Trails fan, it's honestly been making me so happy that you've been getting into this game series and it's neat to hear your opinions on the series in this video. Though I am very confused by Angelica being blurred out lol. I take it you REALLY didn't like her.
She does get pretty obnoxious is cs 3 and 4, though I attribute it more to the writing than the character itself.
I watched this video when it came out which peaked my interest and today I now have a PC and bought the Sky games on sale.
Bro play the sky first then zero i promise you the pay off will be so worth
I finished trails in the sky first chapter a couple of months ago, and when I heard that people call it a prologue to SC, I was really excited, because I already really liked FC. I do own SC, but I’m currently busy, so I’ll be delaying playing it until I sort myself out.
I will be playing through the whole series and FC’s ending got me really hyped for what’s to come
You put a lot of effort making sure the gameplay you are showing corresponds to what you are saying rather than just making sure it was the same game. Props for that.
Best JRPG series ever made!
Great video
Me who already played all Trails game up to Kuro : "Hmmm...Interesting Video."
seriously though, if you fan of jrpg, you don't wanna miss this journey. This series is one hell of roller coaster ride.
Trash Taste brought me here
Thank you for reminding me of this series.
OMG, one of my favorite Xeno-tubers getting into the Kiseki series! It's happening bois!
Can you tell me who? I love seeing newcomers embrace the trails series
If Xenoblade is my most beloved JRPG series then I suppose I will have to give this marathon a try.
Plus if you're playing other games in between, you'll have time for that and hopefully avoid burnout.
i love the dedication on making this video
Man this was a super thorough review video. Amazing work. I am about to start the saga from Sky C1 😊
Played in order; glad I did. Binged it during the pandemic after i binged the yakuza franchise. Also helps that the same ppl who did the fan translation for zero/azure were hired on for the official, so I don't feel like I'm missing out there
I'd been interested before but this video got me to buy the first game singlehandedly, looking forward to this :)
Grant brought me here
I came to the Legend of Heroes games by way of Xenosaga.
Thank you.
Great video, i already played every single game, some multiple times but still its never enough trails content so i very much welcome this
I started this series on a whim after a friend of mine sent me all of the Sky arc on Steam, and had literally no expectations going in.
I have completed all games up until Hajimari but still i will watch this video because more trails content to feed this Kiseki brainrot
Difficulty is honestly only in name in cold steel games in my opinion. You can play like a normal human being and apply normal strategies to clear fights or you can be a crazed maniac and go all out and phase skip and one shot the final boss ofthe game provided you know what you are doing
Also one more thing for GOD AND HEAVENS SAKE DONT LOOK ANYTHING UP PLEASE JUST TRY TO GET INFO FROM THE GAME AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE OR ASK SOME ONE WHO HAS ALREADY PLAYED THE GAME TO CLEAR ANY CONFUSIONS
By the Time This Video was Uploaded, I already Dubbed The WHOLE Cold Steel Series from 1 to 4, Start to Finish, At this Point, I'm waiting for Trails into Reverie to Come to America so I can see what this Segment is about
One of the best JRPG youtubers out there.
"Trails is the One Piece of gaming, both in lore, and in length"
Say no more, I have watched one piece twice & the entire manga once. IM IN!
@3:48 I've been using that as a rebuttal for many, MANY years. The first action RPG actually came out in the 1970's, before any Turn-Based games.
Oh wow so many games to play through. Imma start this series after I complete persona 5. Looks like a daunting task lol.
For everyone that complains about the length of the games. Please just use turbo button for almost everything. Cuts half the time from 100 to 50 or more while the ingame timer still says 100 or so. And not every NPC dialogue is required if you dont want to.
