I really agree with the analogy you gave for reading the manga versus just watching the anime. It definitely loses a tiny bit of shock value when you’ve read and you watch the episode eventually, but it’s still super cool to see it go from page to screen and it gets you much more into like the animation, voice acting, OST’s, etc.

You don’t really see in the manga how HUGE Momonosuke is because the panel is just of the castle so seeing Luffy and Zoro react to his size was great. dude is SO BIG!

Well, it's good that the show recognizes the correct gender. Also a small thing but there are really no "biological" men or women. The terms man and woman refer to gender, not sex. Well, one could go deeper and think of gender being biological since the brain is biological. Considering that Yama would be a biological man and Kiku a biological woman.

Given the pacing of the story, anything with Cross Guild is likely going to be in about two weeks. I'd like it to be earlier, but the manga needs breathing room and the anime is too worried about catching up.
It's definitely a different feeling. I'm at 1095, so while the manga pages are still technically in my head, it's been so long at this point watching the anime is less of a refresher and more of a "oh, yeah, that happened here" or "next should be the scene where... of, that scene didn't happen here but later? Alright." It's that kind of feeling now.

I really wish they had given Izo and Ashura a funeral. Or at least a scene with Kiku mourning Izo. This episode definitely did better but it still feels like no one care about them dying. But I loved this episode. Especially Zoro using Asura to eat and drink more food.

On a side note, can you imagine what a triple date would like with these six, the chaos that would ensue. I imagine that it would start with Sanji and Pudding fawning over each other, causing Zoro to be disgusted by both (mostly Sanji’s antics). Sanji would get ready to trade blows, only for Pudding to step in, causing Hiyori to get involved. Zoro would call both girls out for being annoying, resulting in Sanji jumping in to defend both of them. All the while, Hancock is just rolling her eyes at the whole situation, until Luffy starts laughing at their antics, causing her to go into full on Gaga mode for him.
