Who knew there were so many options?! I have seen some of them before but definitely not all of them. Really informative, thanks, Sian! 🙏 I have an overcasting foot for my machine which I use constantly for seam finishes because I don't have an overlocker, so I am well-versed in getting the zigzags right on the edge. A good press afterwards, and I achieve a finish that, while not as perfect as your final option (or indeed most of them) is good enough that I can live with it... But then, I am not as particular as you are about how the inside of my garments look! Just as well I don't have a TH-cam channel! 😂
That is useful, I hope I remember the last one, definitely the neatest. If you trim the seam allowance of the interfacing before sewing it to the facing then you'd have a smaller not sticky area as well. I guess if you have a lot of interfacing available you could also cut all the facing pieces in one and eliminate the shoulder seams...
Thank you for this video! I am just finishing up my first dress make and I need to know these finishing options lol I was inspired by your videos to make the Vouge 9345! It was a challenge and I watched your videos over and over again to help me get through it. The Vouge instructions were really tough to understand for a first timer. I will pick one of the techniques you listed in this video to finish off the hem and huge sleeves with! Where would you recommend buying some of the Viscose fabric you use? Do you know if any that ship in America?
Such a great video, your presentation is superb, so clear and extremely easy to follow. Many thanks and much appreciated .
I'm so glad I learned how to face a facing from you! It might be a tad fiddly at times, but it's such a nice result while keeping the bulk down. ❤
Very nice video ❤ thank you for addressing this issue
