Tempo is not everything! But usually, The West Coast has a 115-90 BPM range because we like to bounce. ATL has a 120-145 BPM range which is moderate, perfect for the trap sound. While the midwest Detroit sound is gonna be a Lil faster like 150-190 BPM. Although, you can make a Detroit beat with a 97 BPM. It just has to be programmed in a way that makes it feel consistent and nonstop. That's when your hats come in because hats are the energy of the song.
I dont mean to be so off topic but does any of you know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost the account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
why would you have to be a big rapper or producer to work with me? ill work with anyone - its just i dont do collabs rn cause im focused on yt/personal projects
You need more in depth videos on this style because it’s a sound that is very complexed but simple. I think the way you break down the theory is dope af. But I feel Bay Area/ Detroit range sound for these beats and it’s so much more to them
I’m from the bay ... and I love Detroit sound they hella similar but ian gon lie the bay hella took Detroit sound shoutout helluva he put everyone on game 🔥
Helluva is a legend, however the sound has been around in The Bay since early 90's. Talkin E-40 & Too Short. Somewhere early on there was a split. We play the acid bass funky on the West. 💯
I appreciate the love for our city, but Helluva will tell you himself that the old bay “E-40 and them” influenced his sound, mainly the drums and bass line.
I thought this was a rally good tutorial- above average. I watched this and made the hardest beat I've ever made. Its been a while since I've seen a tutorial this helpful. Usually they rush through the melodies.
Man, just speed that bih up. Simple snare and hihat pattern. Simple ass piano melody. TURN YOUR 808s UP! Add some analog bass and you got beat. And, had some strings. Can't miss
Brobeatz go hamba 🔥🔥🔥 U should make a tutorial for like mannie fresh/beats by the pound/ old school Louisiana shit bro there’s literally 0 tutorials for shit like that and I think a lot of people tryna learn!!!
This is the exact information I was looking for. I needed the explanation of the bass tracks and melodies. I have yet to download in vsts because I am learning to make them from scratch in Harmor/Harmless. I am doing this to learn from the basics and when I get to the next stage with my understanding of building TYPE BEATS I will download VSTS specifically for the Instruments that I am going for within each genre. Thanks for posting. Liked/Subbed. Thumbs up on this comment if this video helped you too.
How u make it that all the Notes on all Keys are showing up on Piano Roll ? I can only that Notes are shows on the white Keys. Thanks for that Tutorial. Its very helpful
Yo, you got any advice for R&B artists and producers trying to do this sound, I'm heavily inspired by Bay Area R&B like Ty Dolla $ign and Jeremih from 2013 - 2016
I’m so confused please help. You say use the half notes between the root but wouldn’t the half note be the black key which you didn’t use but I’m confused as hell. Also do you have some kind of chart I think I get the bass part that it’s 2 spaces between every note. Maybe you can help me out I gotta make a Detroit beat for this rapper.
So to recap 1. Bpm range half time 95-110, or 180-200 double time 2. In half time for bass, out of four counts place 1 count skip two counts and place again 3. I missed it for which notes 4 . Piano- roots and all half steps in scale 5. Bass notes within the melody 6. Other chords- safe to stay within half steps and roots but not required 7.accents on some chords 8. 808 use the same as bass pattern but add a little 9. Rim, highhat, clap, refer to end of video pattern

It is influenced by the Bay Area sound though. Lil O makes beats like this. Not sure where he is from.

I might not be big of a rapper or beatmaker right now, but I know one day I'll be big enough to work with this guy atleast once
why would you have to be a big rapper or producer to work with me? ill work with anyone - its just i dont do collabs rn cause im focused on yt/personal projects

Man, just speed that bih up. Simple snare and hihat pattern. Simple ass piano melody. TURN YOUR 808s UP! Add some analog bass and you got beat. And, had some strings. Can't miss
And cook in double time you. It's easier to make the melodies at 100. But, at 200 it's harder to mess up.
Salute this is gold.

Im from the bay and our only hope for ever blowing up died with Mac Dre. Everyone refuses to evolve in the bay and they keep the same tired sounds.
