I remember as a kid seeing these guys on CBC all the time, we even sang Puff th Magic Dragon in grade school as part of music class. Thanks for the memories.
My father met these guys at our local Legion way back in the 80's and they asked him to bring his family to the concert that night. We had stage seats and saw the entire performance. I was a young guy but my big sister went to the local pubs with them that night. With my fathers permission. She said they where the perfect dates ( all of them) and when she wanted to go home they all walked he out of the pub and put her into the taxi for her trip home. Today I still wish I was 2 years older so I could have gone along to the pub.
I was born in 1970, and this has been one of my favourite songs since I can remember. I think it was on the Roadie movie soundtrack. That whole soundtrack changed my life, but I've never seen the movie.
I was only 6 years old but the rovers were playing when the old fashion Atari 2600 was at My Home. They Played a few times on old fashion tv Hee Haw......
Sandra Beech is a Millar sister..she came to my sons kindergarten class back in 1980 in Toronto She is a singer writer and before the Rovers became family she was part of the band very talented
You know,. I started drinking around this era and it was an era that the drunker you got, the bigger the joke it was. TV shows made light of drinking and being drunk. I'm now sober 18 yrs but it was this era and societies view on drinking that contributed to my alcoholic bottom. I'm not blaming the time for my drinking problem. I just went on a lot longer than I would have if being drunk was looked at then like it is today.
I swear y'all wrote this song for my uncles who did 90% of this song! They stole the police chief cop car and cut down his trees at 3am! The track meet on main street lead to 90 day's! They got out and did it again! My aunts and my grandma was pissed off. 🤣🤣🤣
'The cat was talking back' still gives me the giggles! Such a fun song.
my cat talks to me😊
Beauty guys!! Ontario thanks you. Canada thanks you.!!

Wasn't That A Party !
great piece of music from a GREAT Irish Group "the Irish Rovers".
Do you guys now own the master or does Unidisc in Canada/Sony in the US still own the master?

If you look, you can see the first appearance of 'The Sorting Hat' starting at 0:46 of this video. It looks exactly like it.
Awesome. I Loved the Cover by Jason Greeley! Even better!!! YeeHooooo
His cover completely misses the spirit of the song.
