    • @justindarcey4117
      @justindarcey4117 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JKidder18 You dont always get acne from them, some people have no side effects but some have significant side effects. Assuming your still young, I wouldn't recommend them. There are safe legal and less powerful steroid-like chemicals like laxogenin, disogenin acetate etc. Plant sterols have weak yet still measurable androgenic activity, so they do work to a lesser extent. Those are safe, but anything beyond that is a risk. You dont wanna mess with your hormones.

    • @leewatson5108
      @leewatson5108 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@JKidder18 Honestly as a guy who who has used them......Don't! If you have testosterone in a normal range you can destroy yourself forever! You can permanently shut down your HPT axis. You will feel like garbage for the rest of your life. This didn't happen to me because I used under a endocrinologist for a medical reason. Without constant blood work and a doctor it can get really dangerous to your long term health and well being. Not to mention substances like deca can screw up your sex life permanently.

    Took me years to figure out I've trained poorly my whole life. Athlean X has awesome advice, Jeff Nippard is another. Very easy to fall into that number trap. "Okay I did 3 sets of curls at 8, 3 sets of kickbacks at 8... etc etc." Yeah, but did it CHALLENGE you?? Did you go almost to failure? Etc. Your muscle doesn't care about the number, or the sets.

    Spoken like a true therapist! I’ve been a practicing PTA now for 24 years and understand you can’t do anything for anyone except educate them, that being said I’m not the smartest in the gym working out it seems like after watching your video. I’m 58 yo with a TKA and heart disease who feels like time is running out and have recently tried to make a example for my patients, I work LTC . So I have been spending a lot of time in the gym lately as I was 325# and now down to 270 # but spend 1.5 to 2 hours in the gym three to four days in a week, sometimes more. I spent the first few months just working on core and cardio but have now included legs, back, chest and arms. The work is just that work, not afraid! So I’m in I haven’t been eating great but better than I used to but periods of no food because of time and lack of appetite. I appreciate your candor and willingness to help others in this crazy ass world. I’m subscribed and following and looking forward to more! Steve

      I often train over 3 hours and mostly 5 days a week. Sometimes I feel absolutely gassed out and finished after 50 minutes of heavy deadlifts I then sit down for 5-6 minutes dig deep and tell myself: "That was just warm up" pick up the same weight I was barely able to complete 10 reps and bang out 15-20 reps with it the last few reps I feel like it's only by chance, God's grace, whatever it doesn't even feel like I am lifting it anymore. I get all hyped up again and go hard into the second hour. I'm not enhanced and I cringed when I heard Jeff say it's either one or the other. Just because he can't imagine that people can go balls out for hours, it felt like an insult when he balanced peds and long workouts on a scale like that, immediately deserved a DISLIKE!

      Are you trolling?? I can appreciate your drive, but you are incorrect. Basically, I read your post and right off the bat I can tell you're a novice with a poor standard for what high intensity(heavy) really is. How can I tell? The fact that you chose deadlifting for your example. If you can get more than 4-5 reps on a set of HEAVY deadlifts your intensity is in the shitter. I won't even get into the other problems with 20 rep deadlifts... Good luck to you.

    few questions:
    is whey protein that important and may effect your gains ?
    is deadlift ok for short teen guys ?
    is 4 days a week of wight lifting enough ?
    is not feeling sore the next morning means that you didn't workout hard enough ?
    are you an angel ?

    • @imperi4ledits552
      @imperi4ledits552 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Let me answer those question on behalf of previous athlean x videos:
      1. Whey protein is super, if you're diet lag in the protein area. Always good to be on the safe side.
      2. Deadlift is always good, BUT only if performed correctly. Might be too risky for a teenager. All though I'm 16 myself and deadlift works super for me.
      3. 4 days a week, is very optimal for lifters - all the way up to the advanced state. Examples: Upper & Lower - Push & Pull.

    • @MrAndrius12
      @MrAndrius12 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Sattam 1. Whey protein is overrated... try just drinking milk straight after a workout, or grains with cheese on top, or even a few eggs (I heard egg protein is the highest quality).
      2. Yes, if done correctly it'll burn tons of fat and build a ton of muscle, and if u do 1 arm deadlifts (keep dumbbell/barbell at the side) then god help ur WHOLE back not just ur lower back it's that good!
      3. Yes, I heard people making gains at 3 days a week, but I personally can't do with less than 7 days a week, I just NEED it.
      4. If u started working out then, yes, it does mean ur not working hard enough, but if u have already went past the "Start" stage then no, everything is fine, as long as u can feel ur muscles being sore/burning during ur workout everything is cool.

  • @lamrof
    @lamrof 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know every machine, every dumbbell and barbell maximum weight I did the last time. Some people write it down, I never did, I just memorize. Most times, not even by weight, I know it by location of the dumbbell or the location of the pin in a machine. This is one of the benefits of working out at one particular GYM.

    Y'know its funny, I had been super consistent with gym and diet for 3-4 months on a new training split. Finally started making good gains after about 6 months of struggle slowly learning and figuring out what I need to do to make it all work. But then as a result of a move(sold my house) I lost that consistency and due to my new circumstances just never got it back. Always telling myself next week, next week, always next week. I didn't realize it for a while but I think I actually started to become depressed(unheard of for me). But over 2 days a couple of jeff's old vids just happen to auto play for me and it felt like he was talking directly to me and telling me exactly what I already knew but needed to hear. It's like the cosmos sent Jeff to mentor me in a time of need lol.
    Time to get that consistency back now instead of next week. Wonder if anyone will actually see this comment on a 5 year old vid. But I feel like Jeff's channel has done something similar for a lot of people.

    • @Tehstool
      @Tehstool 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      +Orly Llerena If you're taking a nighttime recovery shake, I've found that that is the easiest way to get in your calories. My metabolism is super high (~3000+ calories a day, and I'm not bulking) so what I do is blend up: ~24 ounces of whole milk, 1 cup of oatmeal, 1 scoop casein protein, eyeball some greek yogurt, some flax seeds, cinnamon, and finally a bunch of peanut butter. So that is normally a ~1000 calorie shake. If you still need more calories then you should incorporate more good fats into your diet. I like peanut butter since you can easily make healthy, high calorie smoothies with it. You can easily make an ~800 calorie smoothie that consists of: ~24 ounces of skim milk, 1 cup oatmeal, 1 banana, a bunch of blueberries, some greek yogurt, some flax seeds, cinnamon, and then a bunch a peanut butter. Like Jeff said it's very easy to get the liquid calories in.

    Hey guys - so.. I'm lookin for a little advice here possibly. Anything helpful would be greatly appreciated.
    So I'm 250 lbs - 28% body fat. ( I know, I've let myself go ).. I started working out seriously though about 6 weeks ago, and eating as healthy as possible.
    I cut all sugar but some from a little fruit - I've cut out grains & most carbs..
    I talked to a friend that's been hardcore into fitness & mass building for a long time, and he recommended a Keto diet- so that's what I've been doing.
    I'm losing weight - slowly, and have been keeping about a 60% health fat, 5% carbs, 35% protein ratio.. I know it's not the 75,5,20 recommended but I've been losing weight and feeling great. I went through keto flu and came out the otherside w more energy than I've had in years.
    ANYWAY.. ( sorry for the rant ) .. I've been eating about 2500-3000 calories a day - but exercising (some cardio) and lifting almost every day.
    I'm even starting to see some decent arm shape changes.. my big questions here are..
    1. What should I be doing to lose as much fat as possible - in order to A. Still gain muscle, or B. at least not be losing muscle???
    2. Do you think the keto diet is a good one for gaining muscle while losing fat, or for someone in my situation?
    3. Am I getting enough caloric intake? - and are my ratio's too far off from the actual keto recommended 75/5/20 ratio??
    4. I have gross huge man-boobs.. Is there anything that I can do to accelerate getting rid of THEM & getting them more peck-ish specifically besides just doing something like chest an
    extra day a week?
    Thanks in advance and really hope someone can shine some insight into this for me, as I truly believe information in all of this will be as useful as the hard work I've been putting in.
    - Brad -

      Not sure if this is good advice. I’m 5’ 6” and used to weigh 210lbs (30 % body fat) Yes, I looked like Peter Parker’s friend from Spider-Man homecoming but pudgier. I looked at what was the popular diet plans and found that a lot ago them were too complicated. So I decided to stick with just chicken breast, vegetables, potatoes, and sweet potatoes through out my diet. For one chicken breast you can prepare ahead of time and it’s still good for a week. Beef and fish, they’re not that great after 2 days. Another thing about chicken breast, you can cook a shit load in the oven and pack it for the week. Did that about 5 months with a mix of weight training, diet, and HiTT. I went from 210 lbs to 140lbs (15 % body fat) Now I’m off that chicken breast diet and back to eating good food (good but healthier). It’s been 4 months and I have gain some muscle weight 150lbs (12% body fat). I know my diet may sound horrible but for me it worked.

      I used to be 6'3 365 pounds and 35% body fat honestly sucked. I didn't do any special diet I literally just changed the way I ate in a lifestyle. Its not about dieting because you can't keep a diet up forever, it's a lifestyle change to try and eat in moderation exercise 6 days a week even if you dont lift 6 times get a good cardio day in. I found weight training was super important as well build muscle heighten metabolism. And the one thing I told myself every day is it's not gonna happen tomorrow or the end of the month but if I stick with it it will happen. I'm now 6'3 285 and about 18% it took a year and I still have lots to do. Just remember be better than yourself the day before. Stick with it if you crave a burger eat a burger just not every single day and not at like 7 or 8 at night. Rome wasn't build in a day and neither will you. But I promise you change your lifestyle and fuck diets just eat healthy and in moderation you definitely will change. Oh protine us super important lol and so are carbs but healthy carbs not potato chips and breads and pizza stick with brown rice and quinoa. Stay lifting man and you will achieve your goals

      SullyGoesOff that’s actually not true because you have to eat an insane amount of calories and if you don’t to get fat it has to be healthy. Gets insanely repetitive. Fat people get to just cut and eat a small portion of what we eat but practically the same food.

      @@MassApeeal people have different metabolism rates and skinny people usually have a faster one, as well as fat people have a slower one. Both categories have their own problems: if you're skinny, you burn through the calories faster and there's no calory surplus left to transform it into fat, if you're fat, your body is keeping most of those calories stored more than burned
