- The KTM New Zealand adventure rally has got to be one of the world’s best adventure events. This is a full run through one of the off road “break outs” from day three.

We are pretty lucky in NZ!
Such a treat. We definitely need to support our farmers by donating some good money for the use of their trails and respecting the gates. I'd happily be the first in line.
Holy cow that camera view is creepy!! I kept feeling like I was going to fly off the sides of the trails. 😅 That suspensión must be awesome. The first rut you ran over at that speed I thought wow, I’d be replacing seals minimum and maybe a couple components, as well as squashing my, well, you know.
Amazing area to ride. The trails and scenery are off the charts good!
Part of me thinks that'd be an awesome ride. Another part of me wonders how long I'd be stuck at the bottom of one those valleys before I was rescued.
I’m part of the rescue crew so I’d recommend carrying some sandwiches, water and a sun hat. It could be a while 😂

I can imagine it to be memorable. I saw the video of you riding that ridge back. I'd like to do that route with my 990 before I lay my head down to rest. 🤪✊

Signed up for KTM Canada this July. It's my second rally. Looking forward to it so much. Some amazing trails there. We don't have that kind of terrain (mountains) in Ontario Canada but it will be just as technical. Great watch!

Ok, have to comment again. That was SOOOO epic. Kiwi living the US last 30 years. Last bike was a KDX200. I am going to find your team on my next planned visit back to NZ and do that ride. 61 years young. Raced Enduro and Hare and Hound on farms in Canterbury, early 80s. This was an inspiration. Kia Kaha!
Unreal Chris! You ride on a completely different level and those trails were stunning. Thanks for sharing. You'll be selling a lot of KTM's, but I can't imagine many will be ridden anything like that.

Sorry I missed that, what tries ? Getting off a bit close to the edge, GoPro, you're reminding me of being young again, I don't heal so quick anymore & my balls have shrunk a bit I think. Every now and then I catch myself having too much fun, though.
We don't see much of those sorts of hills in Oz, though once in a while I catch myself getting too close to the loose outside edge of blind bend a wee bit fast, looking down the drop going "oh shit". One of the problems of riding with others. Man there a lot of pickets in those fences, can't help but think of the job driving them in & string it, be up there for months.
I was thinking or waiting for someone to go off the edge, glad it turned out OK.

Bloody spectacularly! Those blind corners on the crest can get you good! :) We got some awesome views here in Romania, but this is absolutely gorgeous.

would love to see you birch come to the events around the country on your big bike. like come to places like berm buster when it opens for the winter
Power bank in the jacket with a USB C to USB C cable. A decent Anker one will last 12 plus hours full run time, before the gopro battery even starts depleting.
Cheers, also remembering to charge the battery in the first place would have helped 😂

great place to ride and dry. wales uk is very wet and you wont reconise the trails now water ripped them up bad. have fun.

Love when it opens up the rolling hills, curious as to why you shut the bike off at every gate? (Not too much of a rider and never done adv riding but love watching it)
Oh if i remember, on these bikes the kick-stand cuts engine off?
Just habit I guess. The kick stand shuts them down normally but I have removed the switch.

I never heard your back wheel locking up... are you only, or more or less only on your front brake!? Nevertheless, I love the scenery and the nature around you!!!
I’m on the rear brake a lot, but not locking it up. Developing the feel and control for the rear brake is a very important skill we work on.

What is your avg heartrate during these fast adv rides? Just curious the difference in physical fitness of a professional vs casual rider.

I’m told going to a heavier spring rate improves them. Keep saving for the pro components, it’s worth it!
