    Hi Gary, I was just in a charity shop and saw a 1000 piece jigsaw from Airfix, of a Mosquito. Box is in great condition, so I bought it just for that, as a tribute to Roy Cross.

    This is a lovely little kit - and i should know, i built it 2 years ago. The only issue i had then was some noticeable fuselage warping. But you mention it is now using different plastic so hopefully that will eliminate that issue. I recommend getting this kit!

    Another cracking video.
    I built this model a couple of years ago I had no problems there was only a little warping on one of the fuselage parts but a little warm water and dry fit helped it.
    I'm looking forward to seeing this one built. I may buy another one.

    Looks like a nice kit of this old Cold Warrior. Imight have to build one. I'd be inclined to do the one flown by Nigel Walpole. I have his book, Voodoo Warriors. Great resource for anyone interested in the F-101 in U.S. and Canadian service.

    Hi Gary, I’m part way through building this at the moment, no real issues, but a dry fit of the fuselage halves suggests that the nose might have a fit problem. Whether it should be Series 4 rather than Series 3 is a moot point, however as a welcome kit of a rare and unfairly maligned aircraft it was an easy purchase! Thanks for another good review, best wishes, Nick

    Nice looking model of a very handsome aircraft. Great content as per usual.

    This is a kit that the new Airfix plastic will benefit the model hugely, as will Cartograph decals.

    As always,if it was in 1/48 and New Tool i would be interested.

      I agree - i’d love to see this in 1/48. The Swift was one of the handsomest early cold war jets and would like great in a bigger scale. But it is probably not famous enough to justify a larger scale treatment.

    Regarding Flight Lieutenant Nigel Walpole, he wrote an excellent book entitled Swift Justice, in which he describes how the aircraft was better than history would suggest. I've often thought that, had the RAF given up earlier on trying it as an interceptor, due to its poor performance at altitude, it would have made an excellent attack aircraft. When converted to the PR role it showed itself to be rock-steady down low, and much easier to handle than the Hunter in those conditions.

    well the plastic is much nicer these days but still no pilot and holes can be made for a stand you cannot buy. Nice decals but more thought towards those that like aircraft in flight would be nice.

    Strange they give a gear up flying option but DONT include a pilot and speaking of the flying option i see they are STILL advertising a stand which is NOT available.🤔🤔

    • @sorvad99
      @sorvad99 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I hate that they do this, pilots are getting rarer these days. The stand should be available to buy but they only sell the old fashioned clear ones.

      @@sorvad99 yep,
      Maybe that stand shown in the instructions was available 10 years ago when this was last in the range but come on Airfix....please STOP advertising t as being available when ypu KNOW its NOT......and speaking of pilots did you know the pilot in their 1/72 Sea Harrier (kit nmbr A04051A) is a SPITFIRE pilot amd NOT a jet pilot
