  • As the title suggests, this is part 1 of my visit to the Modern Image O Gauge Group (MIOG) exhibition, held at the Crewe Heritage Centre. A select number of layouts and traders made this a good day out, although the journey there and back seemed to take forever - not helped by a number of TOC's cancelling trains due to staffing shortages, due to COVID.
Layouts that feature in this film:
Cromer - This layout of the Norfolk seaside terminus features all the Anglia sprinters and multiple units you would expect to see, along with working signals, including SPAD indicators.
Chelagasa Town - This layout forms the indoor part of the owners larger garden railway. A wide variety of diesel traction can be seen, from Western region hydraulics to ECML Deltics and everything in between.
Oldham King Street and Alexandra Sidings - As the name suggests, this layout is set in the North West of England and features passenger and parcel workings, parading on lines at 2 levels. A Bury line EMU features on the lower level lines, along with a host of DMU's.
Dove-Dale - Set in the Peak District, freight services dominate this L shaped layout.
Bury Thorn & Sons - An industrial facility featuring dcc sound fitted shunters, fussing around with freight traffic.
I hope you enjoy the film. Please feel free to comment, share and like. Dont forget to watch part 2, featuring another 5 layouts and some stunning modelling - oh yes - and about 5 class 50's!
