A better way is to scale the parent bone of the weapon to 0.0.0 so it shrinks inside the character, therefore it won't interefere collision or particle systems.
Yep. It’s possible to automate that by calling GetMesh()->HideBoneByName(TEXT("weapon"), EPhysBodyOp::PBO_None); from your ACharacter’s BeginPlay() function (replace "weapon" with the name of the bone the character’s skeleton is using, eg. "weapon_r" for Wraith, etc.)
@@ChardyDardyLardy Sorry I don’t hack on this project anymore and don’t have the setup right now to investigate. Hopefully you’ll find a fix, and if so share it here!
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to scale the bones down and make the weapons disappear from the control rig I created for the sparrow paragon character. I can make her bow disappear from her skeletal mesh but it is still present in the control rig. What am I doing wrong?
Ah this is perfect exactly what I needed. I've tried another method that didn't work out. This is great and to drag it directly onto the part you want gone is a nice time saver.
I think I've seen someone else use the first method before but the second method can be quite useful too if you want to show decapitations or something in short videos. Should be useful in that department.
I have already tried a similar method. My problem is that glasses and a toothpick must be removed from the model, and they are part of it! And there is no way to remove them either in Blender or in UE5 or in Maya. I tried to make them invisible, but the material is assigned so that it captures not only the toothpick and glasses, but also the character's shirt, so when I put the invisible material along with the glasses, half of his torso disappears ... I tried to edit the material, but the result is acceptable and didn't get it. Can you advise something?
@@ishworpathak3632 I can tell, maybe you'll need blender, export the model to blender ( along with the materials ) , and then delete the whole guy( wraith ) , and keep the gun, and then export from blender and import to ue4

@@ChardyDardyLardy use this in the constructor, not in the BeginPlay() method and it should work.

Thanks, but how can I change their weapons though? I am planning to transfer weapons from one paragon character to another, can I do that?
