I bought a 2 pack from Costco over the holidays, a 1910 and the 100 Proof. They were *shockingly* good. I was amazed at the flavor and smell of the 1910. While I didn't pick out the minor nuances that you did with the 100P, I adored it as well.
I always agree with you on all bourbons. OF 100 is my daily drinker. We have a great private owned liquor store that sells it for 21.99. I just hope it stays in the back and don’t get like Trace.
I've never gotten the banana from any Old Forester product like a lot of people seem to. I get the normal bourbon notes vanilla, caramel, etc. and on top of that I get a cherry/dark fruit and semi sweet cocoa. Great stuff.
Just picked one up for $26 tax not included but I was shockingly surprised at how good it was had it as a sample. I’m not a rye guy but even had a sample of the OF 100 proof rye one as well that was surprisingly decent too drinking straight. Deff have to try more OF brand for sure!

Old Forester is one of my favorite brands, and this one has been on my list for a while. I've been more focused on the "Whiskey Row" releases, and I've had the 86 proof as well. Your review/video confirms that I have to go and get this. I had it in my hand, actually, just a short time ago. But realized I didn't have my wallet on me. LOL! Going back back and grab it. Thanks! Finally cracked this baby open tonight. At $26, this thing is pretty darn good. I am not sure if I get that "banana", but I got an interesting "spearmint" flavor on the finish.

Spot on with the profile and palate. This is my go-to daily drinker. A local store has handles of it for 34.99. It’s such an insanely good value at that price. I can’t even get Turkey101 for that. Cheers!
I believe that the efforts that have gone into the excellent Whiskey Row Series, have trickled down to the other Old Forester products. I just finished a bottle of the 100. It seemed to get better as the level dropped. Some air time really helps this one. At under $30, it should make more top budget whiskey lists. Cheers!
I bought a bottle of this a few months ago and had once glass on ice and did not like it as much as the OF86. It was the first pour and left it at the house as a gift and I had to fly out and was not checking a bag. I have yet to see it on the shelf here to give it another shot.
I'm a simple man...I see Old Forester and I hit 'like'. I haven't actually had this one, but since I have both a Statesman and 1920 unopened at my bar and just cracked the OF rye...it's only a matter of time before I pick up a bottle of this. Good to know it's a good bottle!

I love this Old Forester Signature 100 Proof and it's a lot cheaper that the 1897 100 proof bib. but the price is going up around here now that it's getting out that it is cheaper its up $2 from just last week. apparently, most people just dont care if the 1897 is a little better when the price is around $15 - $17 more. The 86 proof is dam good to. The only bottle I have from the whiskey row series is the 1920 prohibition, that's incredible but for $68 out the door it should be. Great review Thanks and 🥃Cheers!
I can only get the regular 86 proof Old Forrester here. Sometimes the 1910 is available. I struggle to enjoy bourbon that's under 90 proof I'd rather have a Canadian whisky at between 80 and 90 proof. This one sounds much better. I'll keep this in mind next time i order whisky from out of province
Great video - I need get around to trying this one. I've had another 100 proofer from them - the 1897 BIB. It was good, but I didn't run back for more bottles when I finished it like I've done with the 1920.
Both this and the rye are amazing for the $$$$. My buddy actually uses it as his decanter bourbon. I like to use it as a primer to something more higher proof like 1920, ecbp, stagg jr
Great review, I picked it up for $20 in Florida. Great pick up. like it alot. Love the banana flavor a little bit different than Russell's reserve banana 🍌 which is a little bit more overripe banana. I really like its distinct flavor which sets it apart from most of the Bourbons in this price range.
Got one of these on my shelf waiting to be opened - looking forward to trying it (and seeing if it can become my stock bourbon for easy sipping and cocktails)

Great review! This is exactly what I'm picking up from this one. All the flavors you mentioned, right on. I couldn't figure it out but not that i think about the nose is almost i want to say, banana cream pie with walnuts or maybe pecans on top lol 🤙

This one I always pass by but look at. I had the 1897 at a bar once and wasn’t impressed but I am not sure if it was my mood or the glass. They had a Reidel/Tribeca style glass and I think it may not have done it justice. I may grab the 100 though as it’s a little cheaper and give it a go. Thanks for the great review
I think the quality if the whiskey row series has passed down to the rest of the OF line. I would give it a go. Great spice, good flavor..not overly complex but still a great value

Very similar almost identical to OLD FORESTER 100 Proof Rye, which I also have on my shelf and like. Here are my notes for O.F. Signature. I drink a tall glass of water, before tasting the whiskey and I have not had the Rye in a while, because I rotate my whiskies. INTERESTING! SLÁINTE Mike OLD FORESTER Signature 100 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon 9/6/20 50% ABV, NAS, Mashbill 72% Corn 18% Rye 10% Malted Barley This is my second sitting with this bottle so air has mixed with the Spirit. COLOR: Dark Brown Nice ring with legs running fast NOSE: Carmel and Vanilla, but with a Strong Mint note as well PALATE: Fresh mint note, with pepper and alcohol burn. There is a dryness on the side of my mouth. The mouth feel is creamy and medium in thickness. The alcohol burn goes away as I swill it. The dominate notes are mint and spice. FINISH: Very drying with a minty fresh tingle filling my mouth resolving to a mouthwatering sense and when I swallow I get slight pepper note With 1 drop of Spring Water NOSE: Minty with a slight hint of dry wood PALATE: Light sugar sweetness, followed by a fresh airy note. Spicy pepper dances on my tongue again with a paper or woody dryness on the walls of my mouth. I enjoyed this tasting very much, but to my palate it is more of a rye profile. This is a High Rye Bourbon, and I have had and enjoy high rye bourbons like OLD GRANDDAD BiB, and 114 and WILD TURKEY 101, but I have never had a bourbon with mint notes as dominant!!
please explain this to me, i hear this a lot online “it’s a george foreman product and it has the typical banana note” To my understanding i thought jack daniels created their own liquor and did not source it and same with a lot of others, do they get their corn or mash from the same farms ? dunno if i’m asking the write question
So it's brown foreman and yes, brown foreman and Jack Daniels, although different distillate, use a similar yeast strain which gives that banana note during fermentation. If you tour either place, both distilleries smell like banana bread.

It depends. Some Distilleries like old Forester have a banana note. Some wheated bourbons can come in as very fruit forward. Sometimes tropical. Get that in some variations of four roses as well. But I would say caramel, vanilla, cherry, apple and peanut are more typical flavors. With the blending and varying oak experiments in the bourbon world now flavors are becoming alot more varied and interesting

Yeah Old Forester 100 is kind of harsh even for 100 proof but the flavor and price more than make up for it for me.

Yes. I love that stuff. It's heaven hill juice and it's really good. Harder to find these days.

Idk i get it at $24 and for that i dont know of many better nationwide bourbons at that price. Id take it over buffalo trace any day.
